I was luky to have gone to swimming lessons when a child. I could not imaging the shear absolute terror of water some non-swimmers must experience through their adult lives. I think all children at some point should be taken to a safe pool or place with supervision to show them they float upright if they avoid spalshing about. To show them they can keep water out of their moths if they close it. And of couse to be shown how to swim.
