Yes but a mouse with more side buttons is recommended. I use razer viper 8khz for all of my productivity work. Ambidextrous design, 4 side buttons, optical switches (immune to double click issues) , roughly the same price as g304, excellent tracking and glide. However it's a wired mouse.
Orochi is small and light. Can be run using either 1 AA or AAA battery. For gaming, aaa battery is recommended. G304 has better battery though. Orochi has very good tracking, supports both Bluetooth and 2.4g modes. Can be configured using razer's synapse.

However this mouse is notorious for developing the double click issue over a long period of usage. My first unit developed it after 1.5 years of usage, 2nd unit still working fine after 22 months of usage.
in my box i did not get an extender, When i downloaded the software it says Connect your logitech gear even though i can use my mouse and everything. idk what to do

Complex macros are deliberately not stored on the mouse to prevent cheating. I found this statement on a logitech thread. You need to use logitech gaming software (LGS) for storing simple combo keys macros.

Even Logitech gaming software needs to be installed on another pc.... Only then it detects the settings.... So sad... I want it for my office use as... it's not allowed to install another software on office pc

The other recommended wireless mouse in this range is razer wireless orochi v2. I'm not using g304 anymore, switched to orochi.

can you lock power mode to a particular profile? not working for me..
Not working here as well, never really used endurance mode over the years as the battery life is so good even in performance mode

How long did u use the old mouse?
I've used 3 of them for the last 5-6 years. Don't keep it in the open when not in use or dust build up will kill the switches.

Ask for a return, extender should be present. It's not a requirement though, it's possible that you got a clone.

Dust can kill the switches, not sure what the problem is here. If it's in warranty, claim it. Try to remap these keys using ghub.

I used to keep my first mouse in the open, dust caused the switches to malfunction. Had to blow away dust using a hair dryer.

Keep the dongle close to your mouse, use the usb extender that comes with the mouse. Make sure it's in performance mode .
