I bought the Wilson Dynapower Carbon driver last weekend and it absolutely smashes balls down the fairway.. I love an underdog story, and with Wilson Staff putting out a premium driver that is just as good as any other brands’ best, I had to own it. I’m so glad I did 🔥
I had a fitting at American Golf today. I tried the Dynapower titanium alongside the most expensive Ping driver. As a 70yr old 35 handicapper the Dynapower driver gave me an extra 15 yards over my existing Wilson XD steel driver, going from 180yds to 195 yds. It felt effortless and very forgiving, and my drives were less erratic. Using a 7 iron my distance improved from 120yds to 135 yds which was a surprise. In my younger years (when I was in my thirties and 19 handicap) I expected 150yds from a 7 iron so considering I’m 35 yrs older, much better than I expected. Price wise the Wilson set is much more affordable too. I couldn’t get the Ping driver further than 165 yards no matter how hard I tried. I will be getting a set of these clubs asap!
Keep swing it brother. It'll help keep you young and healthy. I'm getting up there too and enjoy the game as much as ever even though my club head speed is down from 107-110mph in my 20's to 90-95mph at 61. I can still get the driver out there 220-240 with my 10 year old TM JetSpeed driver. Still longer than all of my buddies and a lot of younger guys.
I Love the way you used your own driver as a checkpoint Steve. Our swings vary day to day so using a club whose performance you know takes out the swing day variable. Great!
Spent last year learning to golf. This year I plan on developing my game. Picked up a full set of dynapower clubs. Just gotta round everything out with 2 more wedges and a putter. Could not be happier with the dynapower setup.
In the U.S. the Wilson titanium is $429.99 and the carbon head is $499.99. This is the third review of the Wilson drivers I have watched today, and they won praise every time.
Great review, always liked Wilson golf products. Love how they went throwback with the Dynapower name. I had a set of Wilson Dynapower irons back in the 70's. One of my first sets as a kid. Their current line of staff irons are gorgeous!
This Dynapower Driver changed my game! It is do easy to hit and hit straight. I don't recommend adjusting the loft. Instead, get a head with the nameplate loft that fits. I was fit for my Wilson and there was a difference between the 10.5 deg. head and the 9.0 deg. head adjusted to 10.5. The reason is that when you deloft the the head, you also open up the face. The shaft matters too. Glad I was properly fit.
Early next week is my first time at a fitting , was reading up on the Ti. and the carbon and I think I'll focus on the Ti. Tho will probably hit the carbon too, now I have to consider what loft (9.10.5) to go for as I really wouldn't know the difference
Great review Steve. You’re the only person to switch heads around during the test to give it a fair chance once warmed up. I’m definitely going to take a closer look at these Wilson Drivers this spring. Thank you !
It’s crazy what a fitting will do. I started a recent fitting in a Titanium. The fitter mostly had the 9.0° head turned down to 1-1.5° to help promote more draw and get me away from my miss to the right. Problem was my new miss was a hook. Then we moved in to the Carbon in the same setup with positive results. Spin was down tho. We ended on a 10.5° head lofted up 1.5° with a 6S Ventus shaft. I’m guessing to get the face closed. My average club head speed was around 95 mph and a 1.48 smash. Distance between both on great hits was small. The dispersion on my final setup with the Carbon sold me. Ordered it that day. I’ve never been fit for a driver and I’m glad I did. If I would had based what kind of setup to buy based of my own education via the internet and my old buying habits, I would had gone with a 55 gram regular flex with the higher MOI head. Thank you for letting me throw up my experiences.
Excellent to hear your fitting. I was at Wilson last week for my fitting and was shocked at what I was fitted into but completely understand why. Similar experience as you have had👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Do you have a S. Speed of 95? And the stiff shaft was better ? Or recommended I mean I think I'm about 95 so I'd need a first fitting but I always thought I was just a regular
Great review Steve and Wilson yet again producing great products with a price that offers great value. Most underrated brand in golf the triad ball is superb. Shame more golf clubs don’t stock Wilson products.
I used to (in my youth) play Wilson irons Sam Snead, Blue ridge Best clubs I ever had Then in the 2000s, I sunk and fell for the marketing power of other manufacturers After this review, I might just go back to the Wilson clubs this summer Good clubs, most successful in all time Very very affordable now Consistent as well I would be a fool not to at least give them a try Cheers Steve
I made the switch to Wilson D7 forged irons few years ago and they are brilliant. Very under rated brand and great price point compared to the major brands
Great review, think you’re the first to review the new Wilson line up. I have the cb irons and they are just the biz at a fraction of the price. I might give the new driver a test when it arrives in at duddy
People may say… “oh it’s only 10-15 yards longer” but that’s 30’ or 45’ in the difference and possibly the difference of using your 7- 8 or 9 iron for your approach shot. That’s where the extra distance gains add up quickly !
Great episode Steve. We have about the same clubspeed, but your ballspeed are about 10mph quicker than my. Carry are abour the same. The test is perfect designed for me, really good job with that! The titanium model seems interesting, will be giving it a try. Maybe it could replace my old Cobra F9. Great work there, cheers from sweden!
Great review. What did the dispersion look like? Agree on smart to bringing back both heads to remit multiple times to have a fair comparison and including using your gamer! 22:07
Have the Wilson Titanium 10.5 w/UST Helium regular shaft… will be trying a Ventus blue senior shaft as soon as I get the Wilson adapter bottom line I love this driver … also I will be buying the 2025 Dynapower 5&7 woods…still play my Wilson Deep Red fat shaft irons with graphite shafts
would love to see you do some more Driver reviews ( Ping G430 , Stealth 2 , Titleist TSR2 , Callaway Paradym , Mizuno 230 STZ )...... cheers from Canada
Really enjoyed this review. Great job. I play a bag of Wilsons but I've always felt like the woods aren't as good as I'd like. I may be replacing my D9 with one of these.
Sitting at my screen the titanium head launches just looked better. IDK - camera angles and whatnot, but that was my impression. Thanks for the review, good info to know while everyone else is gushing over Callaway and Ping's new offers.
Am I wrong in that you're nipping the ball off the tee without moving the tee, so you're not hitting the center of the club face but the bottom edge? Would that be correct and if so, do you think it would make any difference in the results.. BTW.. I hate the sound of the TM Stealth... I much prefer the TING of the Wilson head...
Don't be afraid! I split my set...3-6 CB and 7-PW Wilson Staff Blades. Wicked beautiful and deceitfully deadly...nothing is more consistent for distance...period!
I thought that at first but they are actually really forgiving and consistent. I was playing cobra forged tec players distance irons and somehow I hit the CB’s longer and straighter even with the smaller heads and weaker lofts.
I Think where Wilson loses is in the appearance. I’d like to see some raised badging on the soul of the driver instead of just that sticker looking thing I think it would really boost the overall look with some raised lettering like the Stealth, PXG, etc other than that I really like it.
Check them out in person, I hit these yesterday, and they look fantasic. I was worried about this myself, but I think I'm going to pull the trigger on a 5 and 7 wood, they look great!
At my fitting I hit the 430 about 5yds farther but the dispersion with the Wilson was far more tighter, I picked the Wilson for $200 cheaper and I’m very very happy.. hope this helps
The carbon version is meant to launch lower with lower spin. You can either crank it up so that it launches or higher or do like me and add dynamic loft to the ball. Both work
@@ryanwalters694 I just wondered if Steve had done that he would have bettered his dispersion and carried it further. It might have given him far better numbers.
Did you get custom fitted for it?? Ohh I was 8/10 about getting the Ti. Driver and iv watched a good amount of vids but kept this one to the last , now I'm 10/10 getting this driver now sure about what loft to seek out
Great in depth review. But why the hell is this guy dressed for a mild winter while golfing indoors? I sweat like a pig after a half hour in a dry fit t shirt at my simulator when the temp is 67C... 😂

I switched from a Stealth to an TSR2 to the Dynapwr. I'm sticking to the Dynapwr Carbon - I'm 62 and I've regained my distance from 20 years ago.

Bought a Titanium 9 degree with Hzrdus shaft. Adjusted loft +1, better accuracy, better feel. Great distance gain, +12. Loved the sound too.
Ha this is what I was fit into last week 9° +1 in the titatuim but with this shaft- Rdx smoke BLACK 5.5 R 60g !?!

Hi Steve I'd like to see you compare Cleveland XL a similar priced brand to the Wilson .
It would have been interesting to see the results with the Ventus blue shaft in both heads.

Great video Steve
Great consistent review
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the review. Great stuff!
I’m intrigued how you are getting above 1.5 smash factor?
Me too
I’ve seen 1.53 on Meteor golf before. Didn’t know it was possible 😮
Bad tracker setup
Great review and clear data. 👌
Good review 👍🏻
Thinking about ordering today.
Hi Steve , do you custom fit for the Wilson drivers at Peebles? Thanks.
Always been a Wilson fan .
Good morning sir dose the new drivers have a adjustable hosle sir like from 10 degree loft sir to 10 1/2 degree of loft
The lighter club head weight of the graphite head may be what reduced your length slightly. Is there a way to increase the head weight?
be great to see spin as well
Tried the titanium yesterday, 10-15 yards longer than my D9 also better dispersion than the 430.
Awesome. I’m getting fitted tomorrow 👍👍
Nice, I’m going to book a full fitting.
Wilson is a good re-addition to the club market - I’m really interested in their Cb irons just scare me a little with how small they are
Brave! the cb irons are scary I tried them 😬 although I’m not very good, I’ll stick with my Wilson D7 forged.
Don't be afraid! I split my set...3-6 CB and 7-PW Wilson Staff Blades. Wicked beautiful and deceitfully deadly...nothing is more consistent for distance...period!

What is the swing weight for the Wilson driver?
Looks nice love Wilson 🏌🏻♂️
Very good test the Wilson looks good
Sir my name is George sir OK I would like to know if you could change loft and the lie and other things with the changeable hosel sir

Best looking Wilson driver so far!
just was wondering, did you get your stealth driver fitted
I was but not with the current shaft that’s in it🤷♂️ These things happen
I wished you have hit the Carbon with the Ventus shaft. That is what comes stock. Maybe the lighter club head fairs better than the red shaft.
Did you swap shafts Steve?
How about a follow up vid Steve now that you’ve been playing the Dynapwr for a while?
Hey Steve, is the Ventus blue a velicor shaft?
It’s not … it’s impressive though and works well with the head (carbon I tried )
@@3bluecj I agree! I just tried it today and it felt great!
Surely the spin would have been useful Steve?
And it comes with a free Wilson vest!
Does anyone find that 45.75" is too long a shaft on these drivers?
I’ve been experimenting with a mini driver lately which is three wood shaft in it….much easier but a little shorter in distance
Interesting 🤔👍
I never thought I would say this, but I will be testing the Wilson and I dont even feel I need a new driver.
Would take the titanium Wilson over the PING 430 Max? That is my dilemma
At my fitting I hit the 430 about 5yds farther but the dispersion with the Wilson was far more tighter, I picked the Wilson for $200 cheaper and I’m very very happy.. hope this helps
Good looking driver
Can you do the same test with a regular shaft for us poor handicapers
swing speed training
Because you said the ball flight was lower with the carbon I wonder if a higher loft would have given more carry. Just a thought..
The carbon version is meant to launch lower with lower spin. You can either crank it up so that it launches or higher or do like me and add dynamic loft to the ball. Both work

So enjoy to watch the top brand got beat up with the underrated brand, you save me money for the next driver, thank you

Just traded in My Cobra F8+ for an Forged Mizuno Putter!
Funny Because My 3rd Stealth 1 yes my 3rd (gone through 3 faces popping off) Gors Farther than a PGA pro swinging this Wilson
Just goes to show, expensive is not always best👍
Great in depth review. But why the hell is this guy dressed for a mild winter while golfing indoors? I sweat like a pig after a half hour in a dry fit t shirt at my simulator when the temp is 67C... 😂
-2 degrees hitting out into the range in Scotland. Freezing cold
Wilson being a Chinese company is a black ball for me.....dont want my $$$ going to their military..
Very interesting 10yds longer and £150 ish cheaper
Is it just me or are the Tee's eating up the Wilson bottom vs other drivers? The paint finish?
Could hit farther but swing plane is to flat
Nobody plays Wilson drivers 🤣
I'm sure Harry ex My Golf Spy has hands full at Wilson
Why the inane music
Why does everyone do driver reviews with a stuffy nose and a crinkly vest on 😂
Sounds like a dud
Absolutely better than Calloway, Taylorcrap, NOT better than TITLEIST
