Lcm reset is an input to the LCD from the CPU (internal transistor connects 1.8v to the line. Same internal transistor grounds that line when it needs it to be 0v) and is critical to having a display. Data is clocked in serially,
if the counters start in a random state then the initial image could look like a mess.
Reset is sent after all conditions are OK to make proper initialization. So lcm enables power then there must be reset to start fresh communication.
You could see it with a scope. The reset occurs during the transition from 0v to 1.8v. That's why timing is critical

You think it's possible that this line is stuck in ground sometimes? Or is that how it's supposed to work?

Microsoldering It seems to be an active high line. Whenever the LCD is on it has 1.8v. When LCD is off its 0v.
If it stays at 0v then the transistor used to control that line has become shorted within the CPU. Or the control signal to that transistor has gone faulty keeping it in a low 0v state

Can you think of anything else that we can do to fix this problem aside from just leaving the line shorted at the CPU? Honestly, I'm not certain if the line is shorted at the CPU or if the line is shorted within the traces of the logic board. The fact that pp1v8 is dead leads me to believe that it has more to do with the latter.

Microsoldering That line as well as many others like i2c are branched from the main 1.8v rail. They just use pull up or pull down resistors to drive them high or low as needed. You can do a fix like in your video but since the CPU isn't technically controlling it anymore, when that line resets, the display could either not come on, look garbled, or be intermittent. It's all about timing

I know this is an old video but this is driving me crazy trying to figure this out myself! Aren't you testing the wrong point on 9:22? That looks like Pin FL4208-1 the PPV7 to me so I am trying to figure out why you are checking that one and not the actual PP1V8 line or am I just seeing thing?.

I think you might be right. Maybe I screwed up...I'm not exactly sure actually, but it does look like I'm measuring the wrong line.

Hi friend, problem was solved with copy LCD/Touch and jumpet TP06 directtly to AP_TO_LCM_RESET_L (FPC pin) was need remove FL filter. I didnt had I.C max9060 for test with OEM LCD. But i have this new problem now.. After it enter standy for some time. No more image. Just backlight is on. Need remove battery and reconect it. With USB cable connected no have this problem. 1.8v no off when in stanby

This is a common fault. I've seen quiet a few. Some work when removing the filter for ap reset some don't. I think it may be partially to do with aftermarket screens don't use the same logic on the screen. Other like said in the other post is timing may match. STS (Jason) had one that worked sometimes on screen on press. At times it would fade the image out.
Is the screen on there OEM or aftermarket?

The problem is not solely the reset line, but the pp1v8 line...I think...

I think it's an aftermarket screen. I'll have to check.

hai bro, i have problem with ip 6 no image, like u say at another video, check backlight sircuit, 5.7volt adv, 1,8v signal. its looking fine, try to replace backlight ic or chesnut ic, check reset lcm reset sircuit, check i2c sircuit, change fpc display but problem not solved. can pmu ic ? work for display, or nand? ....

If you are getting both 5.7V and pp1v8_lcm and 1.8V at ap_to_lcm_reset, then you should get image. If not, then check the connector.
