Florida's removal of LGBTQ travel section opens the door for other states

- After VisitFlorida.com quietly removed LGBTQ+ travel information from its website, other states are capitalizing on the move. A social media post from Colorado Governor Jared Polis reads, "Hello gay tourists! Since Florida doesn't want you, come on over to explore what Colorado has to offer!" Illinois' website states, "Lake of love in the Sunshine State? Come to Illinois. Plan your LGBTQIA adventure. Take notes, Florida."

Why is that necessary Florida is not abusive to that community

yes, actually people will stop. no one wants to go somewhere they dont feel welcome. esp on a vacation. many consumers, esp queer consumers, are conscious and intentional on where they spend their coins
@@jusletursoulglobaby I don't highly doubt that. How can someone justify that removing it people are somehow now not safe or it's not welcoming. Florida has a large population and plenty of businesses with the flags outside. People should just calm down.
Florida is open to everyone no need to specify groups.
Because as queer people, we need to know where it's safe to go, where will we feel comfortable and secure in walking down the street holding hands with our partner. When we check into a hotel, will we get less-than-stellar service when we have a single room with one king size bed? Also, where are the queer hotspots like bars, clubs, restaurants, entertainment venues that not only "allow" us, but welcome and celebrate us? If you were married and were looking to travel to an all-inclusive resort... you're going to make sure it's not set up for singles for the most part, right? All the activities, the accommodations, etc. would be geared towards singles (and probably the 'mingling' of those singles)... and you would have a pretty awkward, if not awful, time there. And that doesn't even touch on the whole open hatred that some people actually have towards our community. These sites are a HUGE help and let us know where we're not welcome. By not having the webpage anymore, it shouts, "Don't come here!"

There’s no need to have a special section for LGBT….are they NOT humans like the rest of us? They count just the same as the rest of us and can go to the same places as the rest of us. Do you not think they are equal to the rest of us? Is this why you think they need some segregated section on a website? Shame on you. They are the same as all of us and they don’t need a separate section….they are human like us.

I mean if Florida dont want money let them not have money. The only thing they have left is the theme parks and miami. And now miami is not longer a real option for sring break, which makes sense people were crazy during spring break. So all thet really have left is the theme parks.

They are the same as all of us….they can go where they want…they can look at the webpages that everybody else looks at….they don’t need a separate page that means they aren’t the same as the rest of us humans. Listen - there was no mention of any 'special setvices' - quit making up things. It's MARKETING whose goal is to increase the tourist dollars spent in the state and it's those tourist dollars that allows you to live in a state without an income tax. You restrict those dollars, guess who will be paying to make up for the lost revenue? You will.

Additionally DHS has acknowledged in a memo that it is aware Venezuela purposely released violent criminals from its prison system and many of them made their way to the United States.

Self entitled? What an idiotic statement - it's YOU who feel you are entitled to live in a state without income tax - well, you are not. The state has to tempt people to come to Florida and spend money; if the Florida government fails to do that, you will have to pay more - and you are supporting that. Well, most Floridians would rather not pay more in taxes especially to a government who fails to do their job. There are plenty of states where you can live and pay taxes, feel free to go to one of them.

I'm sure most retailers don't care who love...your money spends just as well as the 'regular people's' does. I was raised in an 'Archie Bunker' household and if I didn't look so much like my father I'd have sworn I was adopted cause I was Gloria Stivic. I don't care about color or who you love, as long as you respect others, don't abuse kids or try to force your way of life on others (you know like holier than thou bible thumpers). Life is too short, just live and let live and protect those that need it.🫂

Incorporate all the Colors but please loose the Clashing Patterns and Vertical Triangle. This was a Poor Desgn from the Beginning. Queer Theory as an Ideology is highly negative, very Adult in it's concepts and is not age appropriate for anyone outside of College, 18+, Gender Identity Ideology is Completely Different, let's not Conflate the 2. Even if I don't agree with Gender Identity Ideology, it does have legitimate arguments and if someone labels themselves a certain identity such as Trans or Non-Binary, they might need to learn this Ideology for Legal Representation in Court to represent themselves if they can't get a Lawyer or Attorney. Let's Seperate Gender Identity Ideology from Queer Theory.
