Wow, such a great trip. The camping looked fantastic, and the meals looked delicious. Some beauty sights for the eyes. Those sunrises and sunsets were great. Good to see the fish were biting too. Nice to see you back at it after major surgery (x2). Looking forward to the next one. Take care.
It was great to get back out there Nick. Not sure I’ll be able to kneel in a canoe to run the waters like you do but I will adapt. Keep your videos coming Nick. I enjoy them all.
Right from the start, I could see that your attention to detail in boat building and restoration carries over to your canoe camping-from the way your camp is set up to your paddling style, which is very smart. Anyway, maybe after watching this, some of it will rub off on me. I couldn't read the caption about the steam boiler; it moved too fast, and part of it got washed out. Maybe keep it still next time. Isn't it great when you arrive at a camp and there's a pile of firewood to greet you? Look at you jumping from rock to rock with your new knees-LOL! So, what else was in the McTripper besides syrup? Do tell. You seemed quite comfortable in that shitter; it must have been a fresh one.🙃 I loved the show! Your music choice paired well with it and makes me long for a solo quiet water trip. It's been a while. Oh, and I'm glad you survived the winds! Just to let you know, I sacrificed 1.5 quarters of the Pats and Jets game.🤣 One more thing. I really loved that canoe sunset with the loon calling in the background. Very special, would make for a nice intro or ending on future video's. Just a thought.
John, thanks for the comment. During editing and wrapping up the video I mistakenly cut out the segment that explains the McTripper. The McTripper is a McDonald’s McGriddle knockoff. I used Italian sausage to form a Pattie sandwiched between the two Jakemans pancakes doused with syrup. Man it was good!!!! I’ll take note of your editing opinions. Thanks for letting me know. Nice to hear from you John. Knees are good. Planning another Fall trip with my daughter. Either heading back downeast or possibly up North. Take care!
Ha, challenging winds! gusts to 2mph. what a dream. Today was almost calm and I wished I was on the water. I pushed through the East Machias this summer and ran a head wind the whole way, 18 mph steady at times. it was a drag but rewarding.
Wicked hard winds! It was incredible weather for sure! Doesn’t get much better in September! 18mph winds is no joke. Not fun but like you said after it’s done it is rewarding and exhausting!
Good to see you back at it man! I am looking forward to watching this in its entirety later. Saw it pop up on my recommendation list, had to stop in and say great to see ya! I hope that knee is treating you well.
I always enjoy your videos! Just a thought on preserving your body when loading/unloading your canoe. I prefer to slide the canoe back and lower one end to the ground. then I go under the canoe and lift up on the portage yoke and take a few steps backward before balancing the canoe on my shoulders. I was worried hearing you talk about your knees and then watch you unload the canoe like you did. If you take it in a slower and more controlled way that will really help protect your body!
Hi Stan, I appreciate your concern. I typically do just as you explained with my heavier canoes and I understand completely what you are saying. This canoe isn’t extremely heavy weighing in under 60 lbs so I kind of throw that around a bit. The knees are doing great and I feel great. Thank you again for your comment and concern. Appreciate all of it!
Gorgeous lake. Do you mind telling it’s name? Live MA and overnight canoe camping so limited here and in VT or NH. Done the Allagash more than 10 times, but it’s far and away long trip
Glad you are back out there doing what you enjoy and feeling good! Great video as usual !
Thank you! It certainly was a good feeling to really get moving again. Glad you liked the video! Have a great day!

Great to see the Wabnaki back in action (and you!).
Thanks Al! Hope you had an enjoyable paddling season! All the best!

@@mainetripper That's great! My goal for next year is to commit more time to the paddle. What a world we live in.

Thanks Justin, both knees are doing much better! This was a test and although a little tender after the trip at least I could do it!
Fantastic ! Great to see both your knees doing great ! This is by far one of, or possibly your best video to date ! Well done man ! See you soon !
Appreciate it Craig! Means a lot man! Knees were a bit tender after the trip but getting the legs moving as much as I can only help!
Welcome back, hope the outing goes well!
Appreciate it! The trip went as well as it possibly could.

This is like a higher quality, more cinematic, less chatty, better filmography, and audio selection version of joe robinet. :)
Thank you! I am pleased that you like the style of the video. I appreciate you for taking the time to watch and comment! Have a great day.
@@mainetripper Thank you for sharing your experiences. Hope you keep at it. :)
@Crftbt I will do my best. Thanks for taking an interest.

There were multiple lakes on this trip. I am not sure which lake you are referring to to answer your question properly.
