    You know, Gretsch guitars are some of the coolest looking instruments ever played and they're so versatile! I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a 6120-60. One day I'd love to have a couple of them and a few Martins also. Great video with some great playing too!

    These are wonderful guitars. The older they get, the better they sound. Add a 6120 with FIltertrons, and you would pretty well cover any job you can get hired for.

    I had a original 1956 that looked just like this guitar {minus the "flame" on the woods}. Sold it over twenty years ago. Wonder what it is worth today?

    hello, this is the G6120T-55 (not the simple G6120T) . I have bought one cause of your wonderfull video, but could you change the title please? and write G6120T-55 . because the other one hasen't the same micro and the same mecanics. Thanks a lot :)

      Ridiculous, isn't it? They haven't changed the title at all. Pathetic.

    I can't decide between this single coil model and the '59 with Filtertrons. I like the sound of this one better from listening to the Musician's Friend videos. Plus, this is a beautiful guitar. I love the old western theme... a lot! I hope somebody that owns one of these guitars could give me their opinion.

      I have both and always reach for the single coils

      Thanks for the input! I pulled the trigger on this G6120T-55 model yesterday. They were 15% off for Labor Day weekend. I should get it sometime this week. I've had an Electromatic 5120 for almost two years and I like it so much that I decided to get a pro model.

      Scott Vampola you are going to love it! I have a 6120 Eddie Cochran model with a dynasonic in the bridge and a p-90 in the neck and I am in love with it! The single coil sounds killer!!! You definitely won't regret the purchase.

      Hey Scott. The Dynasonics have more character in my humble opinion. More twang as well

      ALÉXANDROS Thanks, I don't own a guitar with Filtertrons, so I can't compare them, but I'm very happy with the T.V. Jones single coils on my 6120. I think I made a good choice.

    are these like.. "Multi-purpose" as in, do hollow bodies work both as electric and acoustic in one?

    • @fendafred
      @fendafred 4 года назад +1

      They sure project more sound than solid bodies but you can't use them as an acoustic... However you do feel the vibrations of the hollow body when you play them plugged in. Depending on the amp volume and where you stand when playing, those extra vibrations can cause serious feedback problems. However, in the studio you can use that feedback at low volume to create really great sustainer effects.

    Can it sound louder just like a normal acoustic? Can you perform say in a small concert without plugging in?

      Dr-Ng'umbi Nickson Hassanally I have not played this particular model. But yes, you can play it acoustic, which is good for practicing. I dont think this particular model has a sound post, which makes it even more similar to an accoustic archtop. But for professional acoustic-concert performances, get a real acoustic instead. This model is made to be played plugged in.

      Hello! The laminated top and body sounds very dull and lifeless unamplified. But this hollow design does add quite a bit to the depth and character of the amplified sound. I prefer hollow body electric guitars. Also they are very beautiful instruments.
