- A February Nintendo Direct is more likely and with it a final Zelda reveal for the Nintendo Switch before the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct in April.

@hussinkh9869yeah they confirmed it. No trilogy. Though it’s not impossible that the next game will take place after TOTK even if it’s thousands of years later. Also maybe another hyrule warriors game.

Switch 2 is backwards compatible with Switch games.
Normally that's what they do.
And they may do both ( regardless that Switch 2 is BC) but not many will be buying the new Switch. I believe Nintendo knows this

I hope it doesn’t. If they make it run on switch 1 they’ll have to hold back on graphical fidelity and game size. If it was a switch 2 exclusive it wouldn’t have to worry about working with old hardware and it could look/run so much better especially with its art style

Dude after years and years of looking forward to Nintendos E3 presentations and Directs, I'm done getting hyped. Every one they've released for the past few years has mostly just been garbage announcements for mediocre games, and then they drop the big name at the end, but that game doesn't come out for years afterwards. Nintendo wouldn't survive without the false hype train they receive every year.
It's crazy I literally just bought a switch like 3 months ago for me and the family and now they're releasing 2, so hopefully it will come to the switch 1 as well

I wouldn’t mind for the next big 3d Zelda to go back to a seafaring/island hopping world type. I was always wanting to adventure out to the horizon of BOTW/TOTK’s hyrule’s southern coast. I think Windwaker was awesome but having that world type be revisited would not only be refreshing but it would also be pretty cool so see how an open ocean Zelda world would be with modern tech. We need some decent underwater exploration in a Zelda game again too. Think of the depths of Totk but in this game it would be the depths of the ocean. Massive underwater communities or temples/dungeons.

One thing I would like to see for wind waker is for them to remake it and add all the stuff that was cut out of the original game because when they were making it they didn't have enough time to add it in so they had to scrap it
You can't beat Windwaker and Twilight Princess on the WiiU! That controller makes these games so much better.
I want OoT and MM on the new system, in 4k no less! It's their time to shine! Maybe even a remake of the first NES Zelda game in top-down style would be nice!
wind waker is great
well there are no big anniversaries this year but 2026 will be the 40th anniversary of the saga so I am positive that we can expect something big to be unvealed next year.

Aside from Prime2 and 3 i really want the Wind waker port and maybe link between worlds remaster. They could shadow drop the wind waker the same day its announced at 40 or 50. It will make my year!
I think probably the least used zelda might have been triforce heroes.
Reviving it for the switch 2 or creating a mobile game based on being together trying to solve puzzles could be great.

I will be so happy if there is one in February, although i'm more of a twilight princess fan but I'd be really happy with Wind waker too
I think OoT and a Majora's Mask Remaster/Remake are the sort of games that would probably have to be shadow dropped in a direct in the same vain as Metroid Prime Remastered because from a business perspective I don't think it would make much sense to try and make it a big release title with a $60 price when the originals are already available to play on the NSO service but they probably won't for the same reason they didn't release the classic Super Mario RPG (SNES)
All the stuff that was intended to be in the original Wind Waker - 2 cancelled dungeons - revamped, re-installed for a definitive edition.
now that would be the way to do a re-release.

The Wii U had such peak games so it couldn’t be that bad
There are only like 35 Wii U games that remain exclusive to Wii U. Those are the ones we want, and not even all of them -- just the ones that belong to a broader franchise or the upscaled ports from earlier consoles. Nintendo sold only 13.5 million Wii U consoles and only 2.4 million copies of Wind Waker HD. On the other hand, they've sold 151 million Switches and 33 million copies of BOTW, so it seems like it would make good business sense. To put it into another perspective, the HD version of Link's Awakening sold 6.5 million copies on Switch. Prior to that, it was considered by a majority of the community to be the worst Zelda game in the franchise. Yet it still outsold Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD, considered by most to be two of the top 5-6 games in the series, combined. Criticism of Wii U was never about the games, but about the console. Why wouldn't we want them on Switch?
They might wait until next year for Twlight Princess and windwaker similar to Mario 3D All Stars for Zelda’s 40th along side an Ocarina of Time Remake

I kinda prefer these 2 games in the switch 2 with improved textures and 4k if possible, the switch 1 is almost dead and it would be a waste releasing it only for switch 1.

My hope is WW/TP port for switch thats released with the February direct, and then the OoT remaster for the Switch 2 later this year.
But, for some reason they only give us one entry a year so Im not expecting much.
In addition, Im hoping for 4k upgrades for all prior Switch games (maybe for a $10 upgrade price similar to what playstation did).

I would really like to hear why you don't think Ocarina of time remake will be next? This project was hinted multiple times from years ago to just last year
It would seem like the absolute perfect way to sell a new console Ocarina of time is so well known lets be honest most of the newer generation doesnt wanna touch that game
the artstyle blockyness does not age well, but if you had a modern graphical boost with a full remake I can see this selling just as good as botw.
Majoras mask remake with ocarina of time as a close second.
this would the direct for the rumored zelda games to be in. TP And WW. as nintendo loves ports and remakes for dying consoles.... look at Wii U, 3DS, and Wii... for examples..
if they arnt in this direct. they will be on switch 2 eventually if the rumors are true of there existance.

This is the absolute *last* chance for TP and WW HD. We have been constantly let down again and again constantly. Those two would allow the switch to go out with a bang.

I'd really like a Nintendo Direct in February, even if it's only a mini/partner or indie direct. The only Nintendo gaming news we've had since September was the Xenoblade X announcement, so it's been 5 months with practically nothing. It was nice to get the Switch 2 reveal, but it seems that everything with that console is being held off until April.
As for Zelda, I doubt we're getting anything this year but I'll never say never. Lately Nintendo has somewhat hinted at the Zelda games coming before they are officially announced. The Zelda team was notoriously cryptic about playable Zelda during the TOTK era and shortly after we got Echoes of Wisdom. Similarly, they have been cryptic about an Ocarina of Time remake, which I think is going to be the big 2026 Zelda project (falls in line nicely with the Zelda 40th anniversary).
If that comes, office meme?

It literally makes absolutely no sense for Nintendo to reveal a game from one of their biggest franchises for a system they're deprioritizing while they're so desperately trying to build up hype for a new system (especially after the whole leaks drama in December). Why on Earth would they announce a Zelda for the Switch now and take your attention away from the Switch 2? This video is not only based on thin air, it claims it's "possible" for Nintendo to do something that's objectively against their interest.

Honestly I'm not a Zelda fan, but what I'm really hoping for is that the February Nintendo Switch 1 Direct will reveal the new Ice Climber game by HAL Laboratory and/or Masahiro Sakurai Nintendo seemed to have been hinting at throughout Smash Ultimate, Nintendo World Championships NES Edition and Nintendo's official NES NSO phone wallpaper. A lot of Ice Climber/Kirby/Kid Icarus shenanigans these past 6 months.

We refuse, gonna keep pushing for it until they do it. It needs to happen. Many other games have been asked for, and it has happened, so no reason to stop asking for WWHD & TPHD.

I am sick of the hacks and remasters Wind Waker was perfect the way it was originally before the HD. They got rid of the tingle tuner. I am assuming that they will come up with a download content for two of the Kingdom. They said they weren't going to do one as of yet that was when it first came out
