This is exactly why the show failed, too much emphasis on human drama. The whole tech aspect of the show is almost no existent. The first season was the best, showed them really trying to struggle and compete. After that, drama drama drama, and always losing, never winning or succeeding. It was like a gut punch. People can keep saying the best show on television, I sincerely disagree.
I actually liked that the show didn't focus so much on the tech part but more on its characters. IMO that's what made the show, the character development: the evolution of the relationships between the main 5 (Joe, Donna, Cam, Gordon and Bos) and, of course, to pair with that phenomenal acting. Actually makes me sad that so few people watched, but I believe it will eventually get the notoriety and recognition that it deserves, just a matter of time.
they just poorly advertised it.. they made people think it was going to be like an an 80s Mad Men, so they drew in the wrong audience.. if this show was on netflix, it probably would have lasted longer.
gtguy181 tech development and competing was there until the very end. They could have been much more successful if they were able to team up, instead of this they are all running their own business (on all levels) and competing against each other all the time, that’s the reason why they failed so often. The shows was staying true to its title HCF all the time ... I so much wished to see them going into the new century and participate on the social media hype in S5.
Joe was right from the beginning, he was the visionary and he picked the right people to live his dream but as a team leader unfortunately he failed once too often and at the end he stands alone and so did all others too
Yes, the first season was the best
The things you said are exactly why the show was great. The reason it "failed" is probably because it's hard to make people watch a show by telling them it's about developing computer tech. It would be much more popular if people knew it was really about people, not tech.
