My Vespa is from 2012 , it has done 98000 Kms with no issues apart from electrical issues

You should know one main problem related to Vespa, spare part availability. Spare parts are not available in open market. You have to purchase from their authorised service center only. But even the authorized service center does not have all the spare parts. Even basic parts like air filter, petrol cock, etc are out of stock for days. Spare parts are more expensive than honda, suzuki, TVS, bajaj, etc. for no good reason.
Many showroom and authorized service center are closing down due to low sales. So if the authorized service center in your city closes, you will have to take the scooter to another city. Service interval is also shorted, and service cost is also higher.
I have owned Vespa LX 125 for 6 years and I would not advice you to buy a Vespa largely because of wrong spare-part policy of the company. Not to mention, the mileage of even the BS-4 variant is only 22 kmpl.
Yes brother ye to aapne sahi kaha.....this is the major issue with Vespa.
OEM spare parts kisi bhi brand ka service Centre ke alwa kahi nahi milti, sirf hero, Bajaj Inka milta hai woh bhi vendor company ka. Yahama, Tvs, Suzuki Inka sirf service center pe hii milta hai. After market kuch bhi nahi milta . I agree Inka spare parts thoda expensive hai but build quality bhi bohut achi baki brands se. Average bhi thoda Kam hai because of weight.But itna Kam nahi hona chahiye sehi se service Karo ta 30-35 milega kyun ki Mera wala 34-36 in city aur on highway 38-42 4 saal ho geya hai.
Iska side stand ka bhi issue hain mere paas 2013 ki hain do baar stand kharab ho chuka hain

main issue is mileage ...my vespa is giving e only 23 to 25 kmpl on top of that spares are not easily available only in vespa service center and if you ask them they say not available will come later........
Exactly......and I think the major issue is spare part coz mileage can be manage but spare part is necessary. That all the things if company manage in a good way, then they can attract more customers.

1. Is low mileage issue for only bs4 or also for bs6 engines? Is it really 25 in city within an year or so?
2. Is the 125 cc suitable to go on uphills with 2 people??
3. What is the service cost both free and after free service finishes
4. How is service in major cities like pune and the parts availability?? Do they make us wait for service for 2-3 days?
5. How is the resale value of this high priced product? Do ppl buy it second hand?
6. How are the parts quality? Does handle vibrate overtime like activa as the handle is plastic part
7. Out of white and grey, which colour is easy to maintain and lasts long with same shine? And scratches also are less visible?

1. Mileage is really low. The max I got is 25 kmpl on my BS4 Vespa LX 125. The usual average may be around 22 kmpl.
2. I have not taken it to hills, except Lonavala. It performs decently on incline with 2 people. But fuel efficiency will go for a toss.
3. Service cost is Rs. 1200(includes enegine oil change) but if no spare parts are replaced.
4. Spare parts are not available in open market. You have to dependent upon authorized service center only. Many times, basic spare parts like air filter elements and petrol cock are not available for days together even in the authorized service center. In case no spare part replacement is needed, you will get the scooter back on the same day. But if spare part replacement is needed and it is not available in stock, it can take indefinite number of days, or the service center will tell you to take the bike home for now and will call you again when the spare part becomes available in stock.
5. The highest I was offered 15K for my 6 years olf BS-4 Vespa LX 125, that too if I had bought new Activa from their showroom. Other than that, most other people told me that there is not much demand for vespa.
6. Parts quality is not that great. Italian vehicles are designed to be a show-piece, not a dependable workhorse. So something or the other keeps breaking or needing adjustment every few days. Spare parts are expensive for no good reason. Regarding handle vibrations, yes I am getting handle vibrations while accelerating from a stop. Feels like a Bullet at that time.
7. No clue on white or grey. Mine is Matt black.
I dont recommend anybody to buy a Vespa.
Be careful of people who say that Vespa is a premium product that should not be compared to cheap activa/access, etc. Simply having good-looks higher price point and build-quality does not make it premium. There also has to be hassle-free after-sales experience(which includes fuel efficiency, spare part availability, good quality mechanical work at service center, etc). All these features of premium are missing. So its just a good-looking bloated product, not a premium product.
