My heart oddly right after I see my ex-husband he’s the narcissist. I feel sick to my stomach and then later on, I’ll start thinking about it again the anxiety, shortness of breath, your ability to fogginess I dealt with a narcissist for well over 26 years old girls that we didn’t know anything about it.

Another way your body communicate with you is through dreams. Right at the start, in the idealization stage, I would have dream after dream of being pinned down, hunted and trapped. A heaviness at my neck like I was being sucked/leached off of. And a sense of a foreign entity invading my energy field. Pay attention to your dreams, people; it holds a lot of information.

One thing I learned at a young age, from the ugly part of the world, is ALWAYS listen to your gut, your instincts. That's your soul telling you what to do. Every single time I've listened to my instinct, I was not let down. It's a gift from God we all have.

    A lesser known effect....
    When you first meet someone...
The WARNING signs can feel like BUTTERFLIES. When we grow up in a toxic environment and mostly date narcissists, we're used to chaotic energy. The body recognizes it as "familiar". Sometimes as safety. We think the butterflies are love. Think of the butterflies you feel before getting on a scary ride at the fair, or sky diving. Your body warns you of potential danger. "Healthy" relationships and people can feel boring, after living in chaos. So we seek familiarity. Be mindful of the butterflies. Proceed with caution.

Well, i read this "fact" numerous times and i must say i don't think that this is the case. I do believe it surely can be so that those of us who grew up in abusive, toxic environment didn't learn the difference between butterflies and stomach pain. I never got butterflies when I was about to meet a person that then turned out to be toxic and a narc even. I never felt butterflies when meeting with my narc exes. But i got nausea and stocmach pain, the kind that feels numbing. Butterflies i felt with meeting the partners that were healthy.

I call it the anxiety butterflies.. had it all the time with my narc demon ex. When I got away, that’s when I ended up with MCAS, chronic hives and pain. Ended up dependent on oxycodone for years, it was the only thing that could keep me going.. feeling right. But it was making it all worse and worse. I eventually got out of survival mode and moved on, quit cigarettes and the pain meds but then came “the rut” - 5 years of being paralyzed creatively and mentally.. nothing could help me break out of it. I gained a lot of weight when I was sick. It was an 11 year cycle from hell.. even worse than when both of my parents died. All my energy centers were blown out. I was at such a low vibration when I was with the narc demon ex that entities were dragging me out of body (OBE) while I slept next to him. Should have known then. Its been quite the journey. I saw shadow entities too. Eventually I started energy work, deep stuff not many would or could believe. Literally traveling in different realms dissolving doors to hell and making an entity leave that was attached to my bloodline. It was a female witch / world of Warcraft looking entity that sort of looked like Maleficent, having long black smoke like tentacles wrapped around energy cords. Crazy stuff.. but it’s very real and been incredibly challenging and transformative. If only more people knew how deep the empath / narc rabbit hole goes. It’s about evolution and energy really.. the gut feelings, sickness, and all is the physical manifestation of our broken energy centers

I was born into a narcissistic family. Narc mother and enabling father. I walked around with an incapacitating pinched nerve between my shoulders for years. Further, I walked on tippy toes well into my fifties (in my own home no less). To this day, now 64, I will occasionally catch myself walking on my toes and I say to myself - "you don't have to do that anymore, you live alone, and no one can hurt you" - my mother died in February and she still, sometimes, gets into my head. Life is so much better without narcissists and I recommend total no contact. For those who cannot go no contact, don't try to plead your case, reason, compliment or anything of this nature. You are not dealing with human beings. Narcissists are a breed apart. Remain as neutral as possible and try hard not to lose your temper. They live for this and it absolutely thrills them to have this kind of power over you. My best to all.

Now I’m 70 and I have to have my guard up …narcs are incredibly devious and prey on me because I’m so open hearted and caring. When I walked away...the next day i woke up felt the best i had in 14 years of being married to the narc. My symptoms started disappearing one by one. Day by day. I now no longer suffer from these at all. My narc in the past would also talk me out of going to the chiropractor. I now go regularly. It got to the point that when i was talking to him on the phone i had to run to the bathroom to throw up. He was so toxic my body was rejecting him. The narcs do poison us in so many ways. You poor dear! I had really bad eczema when I was a child. Not to mention a host of other ailments.
It wasn't until I was 27, I think, that I really started to put it together why sometimes my health would be so much improved and how it had nothing to do with anything I did to attempt to improve it, but everything to do with stress. Because, that was the first time in my adult life that I was able to be somewhere with a person who (at that moment in time) really enjoyed my company and I theirs, in a place where no one was attacking anyone or making a horrendous mess and then yelling at me to clean it up. And, during that time, I could eat and digest food, sleep, say things and have it turn into conversations not castigations. And, I could contrast between the time I spent with that person in their mostly quiet home and the time I had to spend living with my sister, when I left that quiet place. It didn't last. Pretty sure a narcissist called him and told him lies about me. but also pretty sure he was one or something close to it, too. He was such a constant nag and telling people tales about me and then stalking me. (sigh) Sorry for rambling on. Just agreeing with you and telling you why.

If you grow up in a narcissistic family environment and that's all you have around you, you are going to be damaged if you don't know how to deal with it right or get away from these horrible people. I found it's too exhausting to deal with them so I get away. Good luck everybody🙂 stay strong, set firm boundaries and love yourself enough to get the respect you deserve. ❤

I made calls and I was assured she was on the up and up. Long story short- she ended up being a Narc ( exaggerated bragging and over confidence ) and I got burned financially. Small loss, but I never forgot that warning.

This is super true! My husband's ex wife and daughter are both narcissists and I didn't know that at first. But everytime they are around I would experience heaviness in my chest, unexplainable "upset" stomach, severe headache, couldn't properly beathe, pain in my neck and shoulders, etc. but as soon as they are gone, I would feel normal and all the pain would be gone. I thought it was just a coincidence. I never thought it has something to do with their dark energy affecting my energy. Be careful guys, this is so true! It happened to me.

      Scary to acknowledge, isn't it?!
When my ex was giving his job his two-week notice before he made the final move back to Illinois where he's from(I'm in a different state & he had moved here just to be with me),....I was a blubbering mess. It was me that technically broke up with him. But I was having serious second thoughts those last two weeks because he suddenly morphed back into "Worlds Best Boyfriend" and started opening up and "empathizing" and actually throwing me a freaking bone with some very validating & accrediting statements.
I thought the morning that he finally moved the last of his stuff out was going to make me feel even worse. I fully expected to wake up that Saturday morning with that, heavy & all-too-familiar "piano on your chest" feeling. And this time it'd have an anvil thrown on top of it too.
But, I was super surprised(and confused)when I realized that......I actually *felt better* than I had in a very long time!
No anxiety like I had been experiencing, no empty /hollow feeling or churning stomach.
In fact, I felt noticably emotionally "healthier" within days. Then I realized my back pain had dropped from an 8 to a 2 a few weeks later. About 3 weeks later I noticed my hair started feeling thicker at the roots and I didn't wake up in a panic.

Every single word of this was 100% accurate and beautifully said. Wow. Starting from the first word. THANK YOU. My digestive system started letting my whole body know about a month into our relationship and by the end of it a couple years later I couldn’t even swallow food when I was around him. I’d get shaky, feverish, panicked, naseaous, bloated, pale, scared and weak. I was unrecognizable to myself. I also lost hair, got cold sores, developed endometriosis, started having heart pain and my vision got worse. I still suffer from endometriosis and also interstitial cystitis, both inflammatory and chronic conditions that I didn’t have before. The endo moved to my chest so I get heart pains as well. I’d also get a certain type of mania around him mentally that would make my entire body panic though I couldnt identify why. Felt like my body started almost completely shutting down. Whew. He lived an hour away and it’d take until I was a half hour from his house to start to feel a little normal again. And recently a different man came back into my life but when I was making plans with him I got so nauseous that I could barely move. My body rejected him in a way that my mind still doesn’t and left me no choice, thankfully. They are PREDATORS and our intuitions respond as such. Prayers for anyone going through this or coming out the other side, which also isn’t easy. You are much stronger than you know. But I feel the extreme fatigue and exhaustion like I'm being suffocated and weighted down by a blanket made of metal. It's bone crushing fatigue. I used to be a student athlete and get decent grades. I even worked 3 jobs at one point to make ends meet. Eventually I hit a wall and crashed. The narcissistic abuse just got to be too much that I accumulated over the years.
It's really terrifying when you become sick and ill in a way that isn't visible or testable but you feel it worsening every day and for you it's deadly real but to everyone else they think you're full of it. Meanwhile you're losing jobs, friends, income, housing, food becomes scarce.

      1. I BELIEVE YOU! 💛💯 and I will be saying a prayer for you for healing, safety and finding a better doctor to help. 2. Sadly what you're experiencing with doctors is not uncommon, many unfortunately gaslight their patients due to their own issues and fails, but you will find better if you keep looking, I would highly recommend trying a doctor of medicine. DO Versus an MD, also Chiropractics and well-trained herbologist can be useful, they might not be able to a hundred percent sure what is going on but they can definitely relieve symptoms with their knowledge. High quality ashwagandha is very good for lowering cortisol if you are exposed to a lot of anxiety or narcissistic abuse that could be aggravating your symptoms, but in a lot of cases with rare conditions we just have to become our own doctors honestly do lots of research and a lot of trial-and-error I'm also looking for doctors that are both compassionate understanding and willing to explore possibilities the help. If you think this is from any resent shots would recommend you go to a freedom of speech platform and look into some of the detox protocols being put by top researchs. I hope this helps and Blesses you! 🙏
PS if Any doctor or therapist ever minimizes gaslights or doesn't validate your experience by believing you fire them immediately! it's the last thing you need, this can also mean-4 non-supportive family members you might have to distance yourself from, but there are many people in the disabled and chronically ill community that will gladly embrace you listen to you be supportive and also help guide you find in the right Professionals in your area, I have EDS and many other issues but I've gotten support from people with crohn's chronic fatigue like yourself everybody Community understands what you're going through and willing to be a support just Reach Out on places like Facebook or others till you feel you've found the right community:)

I experienced a few physical and mental symptoms. I developed anxiety and severe depression, becoming s**ci*al as well. I never understood why my depression wouldn't go away, even with therapy and multiple medications. I experienced headaches frequently, to the point that my ex narc was always commenting on it. I started to experience migraines as well which I never used to get prior to our relationship, sometimes they would last for 2-3 days. I lost weight so quickly that my friends, family, and coworkers were concerned and thought I was on drugs. I'd frequently get unexplained aches and pains in my arms and legs. I started sleeping wayyyy too much or sometimes not at all. I was physically and mentally exhausted every day for what I thought was no real reason other than me being lazy.
Since leaving 3 months ago, my physical symptoms have almost disappeared. I am still struggling severely with my mental health. I didn't even notice until this video that my headaches are very rare now, it used to be an almost daily occurrence. I was never aware that those physical symptoms could've been my body telling me something was wrong with my relationship... I considered him being the reason the deterioration of my mental but of course gaslighted myself into believing it was anything other that.
Trust your intuition. I knew even before I had agreed to be his girlfriend but chose to ignore it because most of the time he was so great and apparently was soo in love with me and didn't want anyone else except me. I should've gone with my gut and avoided him at all costs.

I noticed from day one my breathing pattern would change around him, I would go into chest breathing and sometimes even caught myself holding my breath. My body was already entering into a 'flight' survival response and dissociation. On reading his nervous system I could tell he was existing in a state of dissociation/functional freeze. That was the first and should have been the last red flag but I've been conditioned to "never judge a book by its cover" and "give people the benefit of the doubt." I also indulged in my own delusion that maybe I could help him come out of dissociation or learn to trust people when really I knew only a trauma therapist can do that for people. My intuition has always been 100% accurate on its first impressions of people but I never wanted to be that person that would dismiss someone right off the bat. Now I don't care if I have to be 'that person', I'll do what I need to do to protect myself from dangerous people. I swear I'll never doubt my intuition again.

From being raised by a narcissistic father, growing up abused by him and a narcissistic brother who was trained by him to marrying a man my father planned out for me behind my back who was an even bigger covert narcissist...raised by a horribly narcissistic mother, my whole life has been inundated with all of the issues he's defined here.

I experience rummaging, which is common with PTSD, nightmares, I can not hold food down, I get the rashes, headaches, my mind races and can not shut it off when I'm trying to sleep. The dissociation from your real feelings is horrible. It's so unfair because then you struggle with participating in your present relationships. It's isolating and embarrassing. This answered sooooo many questions! I grew up in a scary narcissistic family, every kind of abuse. Sore throats, stomach aches and headaches were so normal for me. Growing up my symptoms ranged from totally constipated at age 15 ( 13 days no BM) to an adult with IBS. As a young adult with the vibration of a victim, I walked into narc abuse at almost every job I ever had! Narcs like supervisor roles.
From 2020-2022 I was locked down with my parents! I almost lost my life there, becoming emaciated and sleep deprived from the reenactment of my abusive childhood. At one point my organs were in so much pain that I could locate each one from where the pain came. I became too upset to eat but living in "their house" as they reminded me daily, I needed to earn my keep as their personal slave! Even when I grew more and more emaciated and sick they still coerced me to do their bidding, mocking me for needing to rest or seek treatment.

All of it: headaches, nausea, IBS, thyroid disorder, fibromyalgia, obesity. I used to be thin, muscular, strong, active. Now I feel triggered by the things I once loved to do: running, bicycling, even going for walks or hiking. I get sick just trying to do those things now, overwhelmed by those old feelings of pain and, like, almost like immobility. Yes -- okay, I get it, that is like a freeze response.
I find it hard just to remember who I was, to walk back into the feelings I used to have. I was filled with energy, joy, and laughter. I was outgoing and fun. I loved people and life.
Now, I feel like a different person. It is really hard to overcome these feelings of tension, after such total devastation.

I was married to a narcissist for 18 years. Initially I experienced extremely painful, unexplained, lower abdominal pain. This reoccurred frequently over about three years. It then disappeared to be replaced with severe reflux disease which lasted the remainder of that relationship (15 years) along with chronic migraines (50% of the time) both of which largely disappeared when I finally left that relationship. I also had chronic depression, caused by growing up with a narcissistic mother and various kinds of abuse, which was exacerbated by the marriage I was in. It only began to recede when I took control of my life and began to work through everything that had happened to me in my lifetime. I've been free of depression for two years now and finally understand just how much my childhood affected my adult life and the choices I made.

This might sound strange but whenever I've been in situations - endeavors or relationships - with people I've retroactively been able to identify as narcissistic or toxic, I've felt either the urge to binge or a lack of appetite. Both responses were a way to feel secure when my body was screaming to me that I was actually in an insecure endeavor or relationship with people I shouldn't trust. I lost my ability to soundly sleep in my family home due to knowing something was wrong but not being able to identify what it was. The body does give you clues that something is wrong with a situation or that you're trusting someone you shouldn't trust but who has bypassed your critical faculties with pretenses. When your body speaks, listen. Stop and examine what you're doing and who you're involved with. Take a long deep look. Think critically and logically. It can save you grief down the road.

Well, ironically, as we evolved, scientists have determined before we developed a brain, our "skin" was our brain.
Thus, I raised my girls to pay attention to their bodies, especially their skin. If their skin breaks out, they get a rash, to perk up and pay attention to what's going on externally, are they overloaded, who are they connecting with, what's going on in relationships--and, "adjust" according to what registers.
So, I definitely agree the information your sharing here is accurate!

I have been free of the narcopath for about 9 years now but the very serious stress issues of having been with him and having to endure the extreme abuse during the break up greatly contributed to deeply affecting the health issues I already had and adding extra issues.

Ive been pretty heslthy all these miserable 36 years. Now all this is occuring- probably because Im retired and my tormentor is home on disability. I am NEVER FREE OF HIM and now I feel like crap all the time.

Wow. I was in perfect health and I had a great personality, fun loving always laughing and it literally stopped after about 8 months I started having hip pain, leg pains( severe at times) sleep pattern all over the place, both shoulders severe pain headaches every single night only when going to bed. I literally lost half of my hair literally like you can see patches of my scalp, stomach issues ( always nauseated around him) tired all the time, fatigue, even depression to where I had start taking meds for depression. Major back pain burning in my upper back and neck. I was so scared Ive been seeing doctors for the last 3 years for this and everything comes out fine. I even had what I thought was a heart attack 2 months ago and had to do a stress test and a heart sonogram and my doctor said my heart is good. The problem was probably stress. Omg y'all. I left him June 1st and no contact and Literally within 2 weeks all these symptoms are gone all except the hair loss. This tells me a lot. I feel like I'm getting back to myself the way I was before I got with him. We're married but I had to get away because I felt like I was going crazy. Always felt like something was wrong but couldn't put my finger on it and now I know why. I was in hell and didn't know it. There's so much more but I don't want to get into it. He is a horrible person and very manipulative and a huge liar. I'm just happy to be away from him for good. Thank you so much for this information it all makes sense now.

I have been seriously Ill and hospitalized for days from Narcissistic stress!
There was “nothing wrong” according to specialists.
    It was Narcissistic abuse!
I now live in an RV….instead of a waterfront mansion…..peace!

I got a lot of acne every time my best friend (from age 12) came visiting. We are now 45 and I have gone no contact. Best decision ever!❤

I had loose stools and bad gas, bad health for my entire relationship with my clinically diagnosed narcissistic husband. We have a 20 year age gap with him being older. The first month after I left, everything went back to normal. The stress I was under was tearing me up inside. I was only with him for 5 years. I trully believe that I would have died young due to illness if I stayed another year or so.

This is so true. After emotional abuse I retreated from society for a while. And when I thought, ok, I can go back now, I jumped right into a narcissist 😅, such a charming boy... But then my whole nervous system rebelled. I knew he was a narc. And something beautiful happened: it was like opening and closing the trauma in one stroke and leaving this toxic Energie for ever.
    ❤❤❤

I’ll never forget when I started to feel some strong pain in my eye when dealing with a narcissist, something I had never experienced and a few hours after she betrayed me big times

Yes, my body will tract with stomach irritabilities, headaches, joint and muscle pains. I knew it was the stress due to the unhappiness with the relationship. I finally did end it, but, my body still needs time to recover. Thank you for sharing.
