I remember visiting a slav store - very small one - in the town I used to live in years ago. The tiles she speaks of... I think I understand. It was ugly there, too, and it smelled weird, I'm not sure why. I still wonder if it wasn't a front for a money laundering scheme of some kind, since I know there were different kinds of gangs in there and at least one mafia-type deal, but I never asked anyone, just was on friendly terms with one of the gang members. Either way it would be unsurprising if this tiny store was a front, given that there were multiple ethnic communities, Russians included, that all lived in (usually) shitty appartements complex, and the police presence in that town wasn't all that serious given the weekly happenings. It was 'live and let live' if you didn't have business with them (and wasn't really part of it all) however, and held your head high without ego showing, and obviously were polite, you could pass by anywhere. I only did that a few times during my few years of stay there. Only once at night because I was naïve and wanted to explore the town, going in the small streets, although I mainly stayed in the old town, so there lived only old folks and young couples that wanted a cheap residence (I think, but maybe it was expensive). The scariest part really was walking back home and having to go through a half destroyed neighborhood (i'll spare you the talks of the socio-economic and political situation there, as it was really messy), although given there was only one small building standing at that point, the only thing that ever happened was the guys playing on the basketball court and never saying hello. Now, I need to note, if you knew people from there and were friendly, that was a really fun and friendly experience. But you've heard about how people in difficult situations look out for each other, and this was very much that. Didn't improve ever since I left either: last I heard, a few months ago, one kid stabbed another kid (killed him), not sure we'll ever know why. Weird too because my family (now gone) knew the kid that died from that. Were friendly with his family, member of mine went to the funeral. It's a statistic when you don't know them, it gets strange when you do know them. Anyway, stories are too grim sometimes, but I don't recall really ever sharing that one before, so here you go.
It's how Lumi is when she gets excited about something, she was simply excited to tell chat about her visit to the store. I would not say that she has multiple personalities, but her personality certainly has multiple different sides that she shows depending on the context.
0:59 Ah, so she found slavs most addictive drugs

Very базированно
Очень based
Упущенная возможность попробовать жареные пельмени 🗿
That was not pirogi on the picture, that was pelmeni. Pirogi are small baked pies with filling in it.
Sadly that was the only picture of a freezer in a Slav store that I could find that had no watermark, a horribly low resolution, or people in it.
I suspect Lumi herself made a mistake. I never saw pirogi sold in the freezer section here in Russia. You can usually buy it in the bakery.
Pierogi (Polish) does mean pelmeni, and that's the word they know and use in the anglo lands
@@zheldor651 lumi visited poland?
@@alondjeckto Pretty sure she visited an eastern european neighbourhood near her
Бабушка Луми 💛

Pelmeni and smetana, solid combo

Since the yellow woman is from the eastern bloc, would she know what the grannies were saying about her?
Babushkas? You meant top KGB informants? (They aren't advanced enough to use Synthetic Glowie Birds like the USA)
