Well I’m a white man and got nothing but love for ya. What they gonna do when we all unite and take our f’ing country back from our real enemies?! Think on it
Born 1980 (D.C.) - THIS is what I wish mainstream rap would sound like again. Back when lyrics were about something and stood for something, and not about nothing. Today's rap/hip hop is just about materialism: the clothes, cars, brands, wealth, luxuries, all of which you don't pass onto others and don't take with you when God calls you back. Ideas, bits of wisdom, stories, culture, life experiences: these are the things one should pass onto others so they hear about it and carry it on within them and pass it on to others. Damn good work, JamWayne!
I hate to say it but I had the same idea. This is real masculinity energy here. I like backpack rap, and oldschool hip hop (heavy D) and even Nas, Outcast but I could have done without gangsta rap and a lot of what's out now.
@@ericyoung3981 Yeah! You're bringing back my childhood with those names. Heavy D and The Boys, Run DMC, KRS One, there were so many awesome artists that'd be difficult to name drop in one RUclips comment lol. Agreed on doing without gangsta rap, though there was a time where I did bump some of that from a boombox, and much later, a car. It's just the lyrics in pretty much all genres of music started to really lose their meaning and began heading towards the most low-intellect/primal form and replaced with materialism. I grew up in D.C. when the entire local government was defunded, KGB Operatives allegedly running on one side of our neighborhood (basically the Embassy area across the Washington Hilton Hotel), and Colombian drug cartel running on the other end where I lived. Asylums got shut down nationwide, and homeless population was made up of mostly those poor patients who needed help and turned to booze and drugs. Throw in the crack/cocaine flow, which our Mayor infamously got caught using on a hidden cam, and police didn't give a shit about crime. They were in on the drug and arms trade too to make ends meet, so they could feed their own family. The one thing I felt united everybody at least really was music. My parents (both from India) LOVED Motown music and Country and classical Rock too. Heavy Metal and Gangsta rap was forbidden at home (like most of my friends too). I hope we circle back with artists like JamWayne and others still in the business who can bring back music that let you connect to the times, the struggles and the beauty of life. Thank you for your comment!
This is not cultural appropriation, this is cultural appreciation. Such flow, such cadence, such a beat - this is no random shit, JamWayne FEELS hiphop
As an 82 baby, this man makes me want to dust off those gears I put up approx 12 yrs ago cos am noticing that hip hop is slowly losing that ageist mentality as long as the music is fire.
Your whole flow is so dope.. Gen X was the last generation to really think about the rap and hip hop culture as productive and poetic. It definitely shows in your music. Thank you for that!!
I love that I can actually understand what is being said and that he's telling his own story. Got me walking around talking about "I'm an Old Soul lol!" You better get it Jam!
