Three times the price means that in order to afford the same thing, you'd need to work three times as much. That's 30 hours a week vs. 90 hours a week. Of course that isn't necessarily the case, so what frequently happens is that people spend way too large of a percentage of their income on rent, which prevents them from doing other things in life.
How the hell do people that work in resturants/grocery stores afford to love here? Do they just have a tone of people living in a 2 bed apartment or something?
A town for someone that is 18-28 years old if you can afford to throw your money away... living in the country side and purchasing a place is way better than renting in NYC. ...

this my first video watching from your channel and the effort you put isn’t appreciated enough !! because wow
Loved Dillon's vibe and the fact he mistook a goose for a swan.
Mir eyyy I’m just a guy from Brooklyn 😆
Love your classic nyc vlogs Brett. Hope you're staying safe!
I’ve been in nyc my whole life. I’m a Brooklynite, but in the past 10yrs it’s so different here. It’s like Manhattan here now, overpriced, and the culture has changed. Brooklyn used to be so much more diverse and rich in culture..... now everyone’s moving here and kicking us out due to ridiculous rent. You cannot get a studio apartment here in Brooklyn for less that 1800$......(maybe 1600 if your lucky) I’m trying to rn
@@YanksandBritsProductions agreed. We spend a lot of time upstate & “an hour up”. It’s truly a different environment. But I miss “old New York”... in my short little life I’ve seen nyc go from livable and fun and full of culture to now..... it’s blahhh. I still love it here because of love and miss the real New Yorkers. But agreed, I love traveling to other places and seeing how much slower paced and relaxed it is. I definitely wouldn’t want to raise a family here if I can help it.
@@YanksandBritsProductions me too! That’s the dream, a huge plot of lands and beautiful home. But yes the crime is really something here. Sometimes I’m so numb to it I think it’s fine. Like I don’t consider it dangerous. But then I remember literally the rest of America isn’t like this & im like yeah, it’s pretty violent crime ridden here. Way too many illicit guns and drugs on the streets.
This turned out awesome! Great video B!
great staff dude! keep going :D Greetings from Argentina.
I used to live in Staten Island, but had family in every borough, My Nani used to live in the Lower Eastside, that shit was crazy because you’d always expect to see some unusual shit, it was bad, lots of homeless and crime. Fuck New York City, all of it! That shit is only cool for the sights, but the cost to live and crime and just human smugness is on some shit. Fuck that place fr.
Brooklyn has changed ALOT though in the past years, my brother lives in Bed Stuy and it’s actually really nice now. Lots of Orthodox Jews as well, very friendly people.
Brooklyn is for living ,Manhattan is for the weekends 👍⚡️⚡️⚡️
And Manhattan is for working as well
You do a really good job on your videos, Brett! Upon graduating college here in Ohio, almost three years ago, my baby boy headed to NYC. He currently lives in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn. I hope things return to some semblance of normalcy for everyone soon! Now I'm craving an Egg cream!
this makes me miss new york :(
Ok but like why have I now just discovered your amazing videos. Like the talent in the editing and everything is just like wow!
Living in Brooklyn and working in Manhattan, my situation 🙂 and the best one
HEY BRETT! I WANT TO SAY. THANKS FOR BEING AN AWESOME PERSON! Your videos are amazing. Makes me feel like I'm back at home. Being stationed overseas sucks. I miss home. I hope to come visit NYC soon. My no.1 home.
I like Manhattan, but, if I were to live in New York, I choose Brooklyn.
Good afternoon! Very good video. One of your older subscribers (age 56), I'm fascinated by the place where, as Huey Lewis and the News once sang, "where else can you do a half a million things, all at a quarter to three?"
Your cinematography is amazing. Those riding shots and edit are top notch
Found this channel yesterday and it’s quickly became my favourite
Dillon has got the Italian Long Island accent down pact 😉
Barbara Cassese fuhgettaboutit 😉
Hi Brett! I work for Red Bull and was wondering how we could get more involved with the skate and art community and see where your and your friends' favorite places to hang out and grab cocktails! Love that your friend has the half pipe in his apartment!! Let me know! Thanks for the video! Really helpful!
Fantastic Video! I lived in Brooklyn many years ago so If I moved back to NY I'd choose Manhattan.. I ♥️ Ny!
Glad I subscribed to your channel bro you have great content on it 💯
I get it when your young you need to get that buck and the city vibes. Been there done it but we are happy now living in the countryside tiny village but that comes with the ages! They see in your twenties you are searching, in your thirties you think you know and in your forties a midlife crisis and when your up and 50 and more when someones tells or says look back; you say know I've been their, felt it and we do not need to go back we just go forward on the time what we still have and enjoy it. So we get it and love your vlogs!
Right you are lol I'm 22 and want to live in NYC more than anything.
My mom is full Japanese and when she was in her early 20s she decided to move to Vancouver and soon after to San Diego and I know that right now she would LOVE to move somewhere in the mountains away from all the noise and busyness
Nice video Brett. Nice edit, good pacing, really well done.
Brooklyn is diverse and has many different neighborhoods... Its very generalized and didn't touch on much.
At 5:58 I thought he was gonna spill that coffee but no. :D
Or, you get a job that pays three times more for the same time spent 😉
i love you, this video and this channel 😢
Brett, New York is a town of rich history and tradition!
5:41 For a second right there I thought you were inside the "water tower turned into a bar" lol
Brooklyn can look kinda rough on some streets on google maps, does most of it look like that? How is jersey?
Brooklyn s the best let me tell u that
@B C Be nice!
@B C Big fact
Jersey? It depends. There's some nice parts and some shitholes. The shitholes in NJ are a WHOLE lot worse than the ones in NYC though.
@@MistaWordz thanks good to know, I have only been there once and plan on moving up there some day, this is actually helpful!!
Dylan's apartment is awesome... great video
cranberry411 🙏🏻
How the hell do people that work in resturants/grocery stores afford to love here? Do they just have a tone of people living in a 2 bed apartment or something?
They live with family or on welfare.
Or they have another job on the side doesn't necessarily mean they on welfare
Love your videos Brett!! Much love from Tampa Florida
I wish to live in New York so bad someday m gonna get there and live my dream
Same here
@@jielcm2726 same😊😊
Not right now, there's gun violence in Brooklyn right now
@@bravejonah Thankyou but not now I think 7 years after I will go newyork❤️
@@dillibahadurbhandari2450 me in 4years, I think
Love your videos man,keep up❤️
This video looks like it was made to impress the viewers in Kansas...
How is Kansas
Well they are originally from long island
I really wanna go manhattan and brooklyn again after covid 19! thank you for your video. Brett!
A town for someone that is 18-28 years old if you can afford to throw your money away... living in the country side and purchasing a place is way better than renting in NYC. ...
If you’re young and looking to move to New York, Brooklyn is also deep Bedstuy, as not seen here. Do your own research
Brooklyn 100% dude 👏🏼
Kai Kalino agreed 🤘🏻
Everyone who moves to NYC should start in Manhattan, to get that experience. After 1 year there they may want to experience Brooklyn too. I'd say the best spots for younger people are East Village & Lower East Side in Manhattan and Williamsburg/ Greenpoint in Brooklyn.
I live out here n the Pacific Northwest . WA state! I always thought if I ever wanted to move and live somewhere it would have been NY and Brooklyn and Manhattan were my choices lol.
I'm a Connecticut tourist who loves visiting New York. I've always imagined I would want to live in Manhattan, but I feel like after awhile I'd want Brooklyn.
I'm originally from Connecticut ! Been living in NYC for 4 years! Check out Queens, you will it too!
7:15 u missed The Notorious B.I.G
Yeah Brett, a real down home New Yorker for real....Not many are left! The nostaliga of your story with your uncle and the egg cream.
It felt that he tried to disparage you when he said "brett conti" all the time. liked the content thou, thumb up =)
Keep bringing it Brett
