- The title of this episode “Carpet Diem” is a play on the Latin phrase “Carpe Diem” which means “Seize the Day”, but I guess for this episode you can say that its more like to seize the room or their bodies back
- This episode aired as part of Freaky Freakend on Disney which aired several show episodes that focus on body swap
- When Dipper was playing attic mini-golf he hit a artificial eye into the center of the window which is in the shape of a equilateral triangle is a reference to the Eye of Providence
- Notice that on the calendar the date that was circled was July 4th, 1982 but this was actually on a Sunday
