For electronics cleaning, you should use only pure isopropyl alcohol, not consumable ethyl alcohol which is always with water. Of course certainly not methyl nor 'technical' ethyl which is usually doped with methyl poison. Water may pass into invisible cracks in old components and makes havoc inside, mostly by further oxidation. Isopropyl will vaporize for sure with no aftermath.
