I really enjoy the US navy, specially the light cruiser line. The Atlanta is my favorite I love eating destroyers with it. Iv also noticed a slight uptick in people queuing for naval since the patch , I hope this does not fall off. I think naval in its current state is still really enjoyable at times and a great change in pace from ground forces or air rb. Great video.
Must agree, I bought into naval when it was in beta with the cowell, but then never player nav after a few weeks. Naval hides the flaws of The game because it haven’t been broken by gaijin yet. The RP and SL aren’t nearly as bad as I remember ground and air being. And you for the most part get time to play the match because you don’t get insta killed in air rb by a space climber or sniper cross map on ground. Love naval so far.
The radar provides good warning, but it also drastically improves the gunners leading when you lock on to a plane. It takes the lethal range of the 5 inch guns from about 5km to 8-9km if the aircraft isn't paying attention, and in the case of the Pittsburgh, even the 3 inch guns are lethal out to 6km
I hope that the Scharnhorst will get an ammunition buff or will be lowered in br. This ship is so beautiful. Its very maneuverable, its insanly tanky but those aummunition types are so terrible

The Scharnhorst is still a pain to fight if you are a competent person operating the vehicle which I am not I do better in the heavier slower Battleships but I have friends who slap in that thing
This patch has been great for American light cruisers, especially the Cleveland, which may be the most powerful cruiser in the game right now due to the 5.7 BR.
I have only very recently unlocked the Alaska, but so far I have found it to be very capable. It plays very similarly to the Pittsburgh that precedes it, which I found to be very capable of dealing with the Helena spam personally. The ap made good work of the forward ammo stowage, and did decent damage in the citadel. The antifrag on American cruisers neuters he, so I didn’t find much success with he against them with the exception of 6in base fuse. On that note, he damage really needs to be reigned in to a similar level on all ships as against current antifrag, but as that would give a more reasonable portrayal of the Soviet navy I don’t see that happening. But I digress. After getting fire protection I have found Alaska very enjoyable. It has an unenviable tendency to attract the entire enemy teams fire at match start, so without it you are almost guaranteed to die by eventual magazine explosion. After that point, I have found it’s armor to be reasonable, but the crew distribution lets it down somewhat. The aa is capable, and the 5/38s are still wonderful, however they have a tendency to overshoot the enemy when firing at an appropriate lead to hit with the 12/50s, at least in my experience. However, when all guns are hitting you make quick work of most cruisers and any ship with casemates. So far I would say the ship is a solid 8/10. It is capable in most any situation it finds itself without being overpowered. It doesn’t break the meta like Scharnhorst on release or current Kronshtadt, but is a vast improvement over any current USN BB, and hopefully a herald of good things to come. It is in my opinion exactly the type of addition naval should be getting, it freshens the meta without any egregious power creep. If they can keep themselves to these sort of additions for a few patches, and rebalance HE vs AP damage mechanics, then I think naval would be in a very good spot and perhaps attract more players who aren’t running bot scripts. Overall good ship, and great video.
USS Texas in her 1945 configuration would make a great premium as long as there is a late war Pennsylvania or New Mexico class addition to the main tech tree
I have a feeling once naval starts to get really fleshed out with late-war Battleships, the U.S. and Japan are going to dominate every top tier game, with maybe Britain offering some resistance. Japan with its super battleships and the U.S. with it's Iowa-class BBs. I can't wait to see Iowa's AA batteries. FORTY quad 40mm bofors sounds nasty as fuck.
Now I want to see a scenario where a bunch of US Latewar ships have to fend off a bunch of Japanese planes. Like 1 Alaska, 2 Baltis, 4 Cleveland’s, 8 Alan M Sumners vs 100 enemy planes
Good to hear that Alaska’s actually good to play! Gaijin seems to have actually done something right here and I’m hopeful that means that when they eventually add fast battleships they’ll also be a lot of fun

@@mafia7787 yes, and it hit a US Destroyer's magazine, made it go boom, and it still didn't die. Hit an Eugen with 4 torps, and it said "lol whatevs", hit another almost dead destroyer with a torp and had to finish it off with gunfire anyway, hit an Omaha class cruiser and Helena both in magazine areas, they merrily sailed on. Also I myself survived many torpedo hits. In Elbing for example, I got it happen twice where a torpedo boat snuck up on me, and it doesn't really have the best weaponry to deal with that up close. In one of those cases I ate one torpedo, which didn't do anything, and torpedo boat killed me with point blank series of depth charge. In the other case I ate both torps, didn't care, killed the torpedo boat a few minutes later whi was still sailing by my side, trying to ineffectually machine gun me, and even survived the match I think.
