@@jimeverden2244 I and 2 of my neighbours went before council over the redevelopment of a property beside all of us. after waiting 7 hours to speak we got 7 minutes and were interupted by Knothead Numbnuts at least twice. we were not allowed to finish talking when he called a vote. We lost. You are correct, he's rude arragant, and ,condesending. Because he didn't let us finish our street was rezoned from R1 to R2, and the biggest out of place dueplex was built. No regard for property values, no regard for street parking. No regard for tax paying citizens. I have never been angryer than I was that day. If he was laying in the street with a broken leg I'd step over him and not lend an once of help. Doesn't matter now though our POS Mayor Just Garbage with the help of her clown council has blanket rezoned the whole City. Now any property can be redeveloped into an abomination like the one I look out my front window at. I've lived here 64 years and between these 2 mayors have seen this city turn into a S.H.I.T.E.H.O.L.E. This is what you get with to much imigration, liberal lefty voters.

Nenshi is easy to beat. The current water main crisis in Calgary is due to neglect under Nenshi. Failures of the kind that happened take 10-15 years to develop, they don't just suddenly appear. They try to blame it on the pipe manufacturer because the the pipe is supposed to have a 100 year life. But that's if it's inspected and maintained on a regular basis. Nenshi squandered money endlessly, raised taxes, neglected infrastructures, and treated Calgarians like garbage.

CUPE giving money to Venezuela & attacking parental rights groups has become a evil corrupt woke bad joke of a organisation that will eventually go broke because of their own short sighted stupidity.

Completely understand your sentiments about the Calgary Stampede. If Im hearing you correctly its sheer size of the midway crowds in Calgary & the easy abundant access to alcohol makes that scenario much like running the gauntlet. The chuckwagon races & rodeos are the reason these these events started not carnival rides & games surrounded by beer tents & casinos. The older I get the more I like the traditional chuckwagon races & rodeos with a traditional midway with carnival rides & games. Not the public beer tents & casinos that inevitably cause drama imo.

Actually I believe one of you was interviewing a senior in Alberta who said the federal dental plan had better coverage than what the province offered. He also said it was not that difficult to process either. I can't speak to the dentists experience.
What I do hope is that said senior or others don't leave straight jacket Alberta and move to BC or some other province because of the lack of social supports. Alberta's cold hearted, money grubbing, we-only-care-about-profits ways has proven to be a great burden to the rest of the country as those in need migrate out of there.

Notley will not be easily replaced. I think that Nenshi will quickly be ignored, but it will be interesting to watch. The ndp will be simply an Edmonton runt supported mainly by the public sector and government workers.

Lol, nice come back Rachel, and of course it would be Calgary's loss if you left. Ponoka is another great Alberta community and if you enjoy their stampede, all the more power to you. Perhaps you would be happier living in Ponoka, but not everyone at the Calgary Stampede is drunk. Please know that my comments are to offer an alternative view point and not just to criticize. I enjoy your podcast and as I've said before, you are a great addition to True North. Calgary has a great music scene but you really should come up to Edmonton for the Edmonton Folk Festival.

As set out in the Constitution, health is a provincial responsibility in Canada.
So this public health care system is administered by each province. The federal government does contribute financial support to each province, but does not actually administer healthcare. It's up to each province.
So along comes this new dental program. Now should this not be administered just like the public health care system? Federal financial support given to each of the provinces.
No,there is immediately confusion with misinformation and disinformation by several groups.
Both the federal Liberals and NDP are not helping the situation. Oh look, we now have free dental care across the country! So some low income Canadians are thinking they can visit any dentist and get free dental care! That's not the case!!
Again in her wisdom Premier Danielle Smith is correct in her analysis and comments about this new dental program! As usual a rushed program with little or no input from each province. Many of which already have some kind of dental coverage for low income and/or seniors in their respective province. So in some cases, this could be a duplication of what some provinces may already have in place. So it just may mean just enhancing their existing system with more additional federal contributions.

Politicians should never talk about race. I'm closing in on 40 and remember being a kid and teenager never caring or thinking about race. In today's world politicians main focus is on what people are, not who they are. Its destroying countries.

3:31 This along with eye care is something that should of been implemented decades ago, you'd think a nation under Britain rule for so long would understand the need for this. I like 1 in 4 people had the reverse reaction to fluoride as a child and it destroyed the enamel on my teeth, this was given to us once a week my entire elementary schooling and wasn't until I hit puberty that the dentist figured out why and known others and yet not one of us we given any kind of care or money for the damages done.

I've only been to the Calgary Stampede maybe twice. On the other hand I've been to many, many small town and rural rodeos. The Pincher Creek rodeo is a good one but without the chuck wagons. I too prefer the smaller crowds. Besides, you can sit on the fence and get covered in dust and bull slime!!

Nenshi is all too ready to divide citizens at the drop of an order from his rulers. As he quickly declared, when restaurants did not allow unvackst entry, "Unvaxxinated don't need to eat." He will never act other than in his interests! Albertans must be on guard that he gets nowhere near power. That by the way, is in his best interest, if one remembers how obese he gets when in office. We're looking out for you Naheed. You're welcome!
