@@franklin2316 if there was a game that combined the crew's map size, customization and vehicle types with forza's level of cars, tuning and their livery editor I'd be a happy person😂
The most depressing thing about The Crew 2 is that all this crap doesn't really cancel out the game's unique charm. That map, warts and downgrades and terrible models/textures and all, is still the best in the business as far as I know, and the sheer size alone sets it apart for players like me who are only looking for a great place to drive around in and not feel like I'm seeing it for the 24,759th time. The second most depressing thing is that some of the people involved in this game have been working on games of this exact style - giant-map, free-roaming, unrealistic-handling driving games - since 2006's Test Drive Unlimited. Do correct me if I'm wrong, but they have spent 14 years at minimum (add more for TDU's development time) refining the same concept only to arrive nowhere. A decade and a half of hard work and all you have to show is, just like how it was back then, the map!
I’m not sure how this game went from being the most hated game in the racing game community to being seen as the messiah when all they did was add achievements and brand it as a “feature”. The games still a shadow of its past, nothing’s really improving
Same thing happened to Battlefront 2. Game went from being universally hated to being praised for removing microtransactions and then adding content. Meanwhile the gameplay got worse every single time with new bugs, mostly OP stuff, and then the last update gave us a game changing thing.
As a grinder I agree, I won't bother with this hobbies thing either This could probably be worse than what EA could have done, Need for Speed Payback out of 10. The map is lackluster to explore with/out your friends until now and you have to do/buy unwanted stuff with necessary longer grind/literally pay real money just to get 3 new cars ? Definitely a no from me. Again honest, I like the racing in TC2 more than TC1 wether because of the better handling, race courses, trying new cars that the TC1 doesn't have (exp. Evo X/X Bow-R/Lancia) or the ones that you have pay with real money (exp. Alfa Romeo 4C/McLaren F1) to test/race with so I would like to redo the races again but yeah replaying events that you had done years ago should deserve bigger rewards while hobbies doesn't give you that. I also don't understand why the rewards are mostly just emotes ? And they are pretty much the same between the 3, just with different animals/characters ! Give the players at least give the players new license plates like TC1, discount prices, or something , it's insulting to players who had spent their time since then and what they will get now in return is painfully mediocre. This "content" should not have passed out this easily. Wether it's Ivory Tower/Ubisoft/The Pit Crew, whoever approved and execute this better have a really good amount of explanation to say about this.
I totally agree, I'm not a grinder, I'm just a casual player, although I've had TC2 since it came out because I was a big TC1 fan. I'm also a JDM "fanboy" so what I'm interested now is in trying japanese cars and such. The only car that really interests me rn is the FC but I can't get it because I have to redo things that took months of casual play, I'm absolutely pissed off with these hobby things because all they give u is emotes that literally nobody uses and trash underglow, so it's extremely frustrating to do all of these things again. I don't think I will put in the extreme effort of months and months just to get a car. Hobbies suck
Let's look at the bright side. Ivory Tower either doesn't add anything new, or when they do it's just stuff they made in a week, it's probably a sign of TC3 being made. Or not, idk

I haven't been diagnosed with OCD but I do the tap thing a lot, especially when locking stuff. I use to always be unsure whether I had locked my house door or locked the car to "fix" that I developed that tap, everything I lock something I tap it so every time I'm unsure of something I'll ask myself "did I tap it?" if the answer is yes then I'm fine if it's no, or I don't remember I have to go back and check to make sure, or else I'll be on edge the whole time. It's probably not OCD but I always thought I was weird for having this ritual
Agreed with you on your first video about hobbies and agree with you even more on this one, this is just a sign of things to come from Ivory Tower and Ubisoft, repeated nonsensical, boring, lacklustre, childish crap. This is the result of the fanboy culture combined with the almost militant approach to oppression of criticism taken by Ubisoft. Without criticism, not only will games not improve, problems not get fixed, etc, etc, but, it also gives licence to lacklustre developers to get away with consistently pumping out crap like this. So, well done Fanboys for pumping smoke up the rear ends of Ubisoft and Ivory Tower in some vain attempt to garner your Brownie points and well done Ubisoft for blatantly shutting down free speech because it was in the form of criticism, the backlash continues and may it continue until they go under, this is the only way now, one of the big names needs to go for the other developers and publishers to take note and stop making a mockery out of the real gaming community!

As far as I know this was something that was implemented in the first game and no I don't think that they're fun it's just more grinding but seeing as I just got the game for $10 with the season pass 5 days ago I will say that this game is much better than I have read in years prior when it launched. It's certainly better than need for speed heat which is utterly dead there's no question about it. This is my new arcade racer but I definitely think they can improve and cut out some of the scuminess in regards to the summit I've always thought that the summits should be cumulative team based scores instead of individual scores where somebody who cannot play 24 hours a day 7 days a week can still secure a platinum spot but that's not the way they work. I have recently found the channel and enjoy much of your take on various racing games but let's be real these hobbies definitely aren't fun but even Forza horizon 4 the supposed king of SimCade racing has things that are very similar to this and unfortunately I'm finding more and more that most racing games are padded with fluff because they are just that racing games they have to keep People playing somehow at the very least the hobbies are passive and eventually you will get the rewards you want.I certainly hope that the game gets more content considering I just picked it up but for the price I picked it up with the content I got I can't really complain it's a great game for the $10 I picked it up for

Another thing that I don't really like is the fact that everyone has to grind every performance part for the live summit, Yeah of course while playing you can slowly get every performance part to the max for at least one vehicle on every category, but just give everyone the same opportunity with a base level and make them do the races. Another thing is about touring bikes, are they different? Because (to me) they're pretty similar to the Street race ones, I think that they had to let you pay (in game cash) something around 100k to let YOUR bike that you ALREADY own (the street one) transform into a modified version of it that you can use in touring events. is 100k too low? well let's make it 200k for just a single bike to "transform", but don't make me feel like I must pay over 1M for a bundle of the 3 bikes.
I went to see it because all I wanted was the Fc Rx7 and then I saw the large amount of grinding you have to do so I just put the game back down and know I’m waiting for next update
