As a Mavs fan I know that we probably have a reputation of being annoying and Celtics fans have their reputation as well. But Im just glad to be here in the calm before the storm. Good to see not everyone is emotionally caught up in the narratives or whatever. Because in a few days its probably gonna start getting super toxic and aggressive lmao
It’s gonna be a tough series and Im terrified of y’all. The fact that you have a starting 5 where you can say that Jrue Holiday or Derrick White is the worst player is just absurd. All can be two way players.
But at the same Ive also seen Phoenix Game 7 Luka. I saw him drop 20 in ten minutes the other night. Ive seen this Mavs team *over and over again* fight and claw their way from deficits to win off of pure effort, defense, and clutch ability, both in the regular season and the playoffs. It feels like ever since March after Kidd got his rotation experimenting out of his system this team just flipped a switch and has been slowly getting better and better including in the playoffs.
Yall are by far our hardest test yet but its the same the other way around.
Also with the Pacers, about them being ranked the #1 offense, i don’t really care about that gimmicky shit. They collapsed when it mattered the most every time, that is not going to be the case with Luka and Kyrie closing.
I will say Ive started following the pods of some of the opponents that we’ve beat before, and you seem like a chill guy. So best of luck

The wolves really didn't guard the best to their ability, so their role players weren't needed. I think a well rested defense will force the ball to their role players more, which leads to the original comment... Yeah it always feels like a bottom guy does, but that's by Boston's choice lol

The national media is all about ratings. I am a Mavs fan and have seen the negativity against Luka and Kyrie throughout the playoffs. I expect a good series. The Celtics are the most well rounded team we will have faced. They have the Thunder's offense and the Wolve's defense.

The stage is set. Dallas embarassed the wolves. 3 keys for the celtics to beat dallas:
1. pinch from the corners and stop the lobs while recovering to contest the corner 3.
2. Put lukai in actions to tire them out on offense. Celtics have to be physical/set tons of screens.
3. live with luka the scorer. Face guard everyone else. Dont overhelp. cant let guys like pj, gafford, etc get confidence.

Underrated narrative that is intriguing to dissect. Kristaps being disgruntled with Luka and the Mavs organization but finding success with Boston after a stint in Washington & Kyrie realizing his leadership role in a natural way after self proclaiming and anointing himself one in Boston with a flameout in Brooklyn in-between. That is an interesting dichotomy that they each found success after what was initially thought to be "a match made in heaven" and will face each others former teams instead.

KP narrative isn't that big of a narrative. Even Mavs fans don't have animosity toward KP. It just didn't work out because of injury and fit. Luka and KP were both young and are mature enough now to honestly reflect on it. KP was and is consistently injured and the Mavs couldn't rely on him to be the 2nd best player.

As a Mavs fan, our main issue with KP was always getting injured. From what it looks like, he has played enough to help Boston, but still missed a lot of games. He also helped Dallas get to the Western conference finals a couple years ago because he was healthy in the playoffs.

As a Mavs fan, I am not here to trash talk. I expect a cery good series. Just looking at numbers, the Mavs beat an offense as good as the Celtics with the Thunder. But their defense is not as good. Then we faced a defense a little better than the Celtics, but they don't have the offense. Looks luke the Celtics have both. This will be our most well rounded team we have faced. Mavs strength is defense and 2 very clutch scorers.
I'm feeling confident going into this one. Celtics is 6 or less. I don't see Luka driving five or six guys crazy all at once. I see 5-6 guys attacking Luka on the offensive end driving him crazy. As for Kyrie. He's not time-efficient. He's a dribble machine to a shot to a pick and roll lob.

To add to what you said, I think the Mavs have two special players in Doncic and Kyrie that can dominate down the stretch. I think there will be a game or two that we will just cook the Mavs. We need to stomp on them while they’re down in those instances but move on even fast after the win. I feel that the Mavs have 2 great games in them and we just need to do what we did with the Pacers, stay composed and not let any points or bad calls get in our head. Get back onto D and play. If the Pacers are the team that came surging but didn’t get into our heads, Mavs are definitely the team that will come with everything but also try to get into your head. So far we’ve been cool and levelheaded, I think we win in 5.
I think there will be a game where boston is the one this time who actually goes on a heater from 3. Boston has already suffered 2 teams going on heaters on 3s and havent had 1 game yet where every 3 they put is falling.

Like the Pacers, Dallas needs others to step up. Kyrie and Luka, the celtics know are their main weapons. Can the other Mavs step up? As for the celtics, their J's and backcourt are their main weapons. If KP can be back to his "old" self, then they are better. If the bench of the celtics will be solid, then that's an advantage. Imo, if the series goes 7, dallas might win, in 6 or less the celts will win. This will be a close series, probably one blowout game but games decided around 5 points.

One thing to keep an eye on is how the Mavs react to being on the biggest stage. Those guys (with the exception of Kyrie) haven't been there before. That’s why we lost the 2022 finals and the reason Tatum got the reputation of being soft, bc he folded under pressure.
Also, Jayson Tatum was hurt we also played two game sevens. two years ago and the whole team was tired by the time we got to the finals.

Luka Doncic is a *bad man* ... 20 pts in the first 120-someodd seconds last night? Talking trash to Snoop Dogg on the sidelines, screaming at the crowd in Slovenian or whatever... Dudes ice cold. We're going to have to guard him with a carousel of defenders--Jrue, White, JB, JT if need be... Gotta keep Tatum out of foul trouble though. As for Kyrie, I think the unsung hero of this series could be Payton Pritchard. Hes got the speed and maneuverability to deal with Kyrie off the dribble. And as long as Porzingis is back at around 80% at least, and barring a horrific shooting night, I think Cs mop the floor with the Mavs in 5... With Luka going ballistic in Boston for one game, setting a new playoff record for points in a game.

The Celtics have been the best team all year and they did what they were suppose to do...Timeline wise.. This is the Celitcs to lose...they are the favorites and rightfully so... I can guarantee Luka and Kyrie will not shoot a better % from the midrange than the Pacers did. They Pacers also got up 10 more shots at least every game than the Mavs will. Its gonna be cakewalk for the Cs.

Crltics hsve a 3-5 regular season record against top 4 western cinference teams, and Mavs just beat 3 of those teams in series. So this will definitely be interesting.
I think the C's got this. Celtics in 5. The Jays need to attack the rim, spread the offense from the outside in Al and White, and Jrue with the steals and the usual lay up. When they do that the C's are hard to beat.
