      I haven't tried mage cowl for a while because the utility of other headpieces seems much more valuable to me than just extra damage. If I understood patch correctly, the overall DPS of mage cowl got a +10% buff so might be a good time to test it out, you're right.

    I pretty much only play spear, and my high IP setup is Cultist cowl, mistwalker jacket, I feel like its really strong in most matchups, since the mistwalker is really op vs the traditional bloodletter build, but can be very tricky vs long range kite such as frost

    • @VicZaneGaming
      @VicZaneGaming  3 месяца назад +1

      That's interesting to hear. I feel like cultist can be very hit-or-miss. Against some builds it's strong but against some others not useful at all. Kinda same story with Mistwalker but I suppose you can win a whole fight sometimes simply by using it at the perfect moment. Do you change to inferno often?

    nice video. I can't decide between stalker hood and mercenary hood any help on that ? and how do you deal with carving swords using mercenary hood since you can hardly brawl against them without stalker hood ?

    • @VicZaneGaming
      @VicZaneGaming  2 месяца назад

      I do prefer stalker hood for more aggressive brawling and being able to execute. Against carving, food determines more than helmet in my experience. If they are on eel stew and you eat roast snapper, you can brawl very well. But you are very correct that merc hood should make you lean towards kiting more. Especially until you get Q stacks up. Carving can kind of keep up but with cripple it's still pretty kite-able fight.

    Hello Vic, very important topic that you did not cover I think ? What are the best stats on a spear when you awaken it ? Thanks !

    • @VicZaneGaming
      @VicZaneGaming  Месяц назад

      Hey! Yeah you're right, I did not talk about awakening the Spear because I don't usually use awakened weapons myself. One problem with awakening spear specifically is that you really want to have access to Impaler for certain fights but 4.4 or 5.4 spears will not have it and attuning 6.4 gets expensive very fast.
      For traits, however, I think CDR and Max Hp are going to be the absolute best (as with most weapons I guess). Next, I would choose Defense vs All. And finally: Ability damage, Item Power, Attack speed and Lifesteal all seem decent B tier traits to me.

    I always wanted to use hermon spear and shield, like spartan warriors. What do you think about it? Will it be really bad for pvp?

    • @VicZaneGaming
      @VicZaneGaming  Месяц назад

      It will very difficult to play it in Mists because of lack of mobility. Doesn't mean you shouldn't follow your dream to be a spartan warrior but it can be frustrating if you can only win against enemies who are being too aggressive and chasing you. It's a bit easier to make it work in corrupted dungeons although some of the same problems will apply.

    • @VicZaneGaming
      @VicZaneGaming  2 месяца назад +1

      It's roasted snapper. It can be tier3, tier5 or tier7 and its exact name will depend on its tier: "Roasted Puremist Snapper" (t7), "Roasted Clearhaze snapper" (t5) or "Roasted Whitefog Snapper" (t3).

    I'm trying a lifesteal build on daybreaker, with merc jack, hunter hood and roasted pork which is alot different from the objective of ur build, what r ur thoughts on that🙌

    • @VicZaneGaming
      @VicZaneGaming  2 месяца назад

      I very much love the idea to play daybreaker as a tanky, sustain-based build. In fact, I will be speccing up daybreaker soon on EU and will probably try something like that out also. Roast pork and merc jacket seem decent but I don't like hunter hood. I feel much stronger when I have a helmet that allows me to make plays and daybreaker already suffers from mobility problems against mist builds (unless you hit a perfect E to purge their mobility). I would definitely prefer fiend cowl or helmet of valor.

    What if i use hunter jacket 3rd slot skill for pve and inferno shield for pvp?

    • @VicZaneGaming
      @VicZaneGaming  2 месяца назад

      I like the idea in theory but there is one dealbreaker for me which is that too often there isn't really time to switch spells between PvE and PvP. I wouldn't want to miss out on good opportunities to fight because I wasn't ready with my spells.
      On top of that - spear doesn't really struggle with PvE so the Hunter Jacket 3rd isn't really necessary. If you want to speed up your PvE clearing without harming your PvP readiness then stalker jacket feels like a better option.

    May ask what passives should i pick for the helmet, armor and boots?

    • @VicZaneGaming
      @VicZaneGaming  Месяц назад

      For plate boots, defense passive. For cloth cowl (if you are using one) I'd take the damage passive. However, for leather armor pieces I would choose based on the rest of your build to balance between both cooldown reduction and overall tankiness. I prefer to eat roasted snapper and take CDR passives but if you have plenty of CDR already from other sources, take the 'balanced mind'. You will get a bit more of this answer in part 4 of the guide.

    • @VicZaneGaming
      @VicZaneGaming  3 месяца назад +1

      That sounds like a good plan if by 'early game' you mean low IP and by 'late game' you mean high IP. But you can also just run inferno shield on a good leather jacket in late game.

    What do you think about mercenary jacket?

    • @VicZaneGaming
      @VicZaneGaming  2 месяца назад +2

      I've tried it but I don't like it. I feel like on the 1h spear it's much much easier to get good value out of inferno shield than merc jacket heal.
      And for inferno, I prefer one of the jackets with +30% damage (merc jacket gives +20%)

  • @ahmedessam3312

    • @VicZaneGaming
      @VicZaneGaming  Месяц назад

      Forest of spears is unfortunately very weak in pvp because a) there is no way to force your opponent to just stand there and take the damage and b) some of the other Ws are incredibly valuable.
      I think you'll find part of the answer in Part 3 where I discuss spells.

    what about passive on ur helmet / chest ? :)

    • @VicZaneGaming
      @VicZaneGaming  2 месяца назад +1

      Hey :) I cover this idea a bit in Episode 4 but the short answer is that I choose either Balanced Mind or Quick Thinker to compensate for what the rest of my build doesn't have and balance between tankiness and cooldown reduction. For example if you choose CDR in other places (food, mistcaller), then don't take CDR passives. But if you are more of a tanky brawler, take cdr.

      @KingTogoday 2 месяца назад

      Thanks for your answer, i’m also a spear addict and i have to say that every thing u said is just perfection.
      But one more thing, do you use your stalker helmet when engaging ? Most of the time i keep it as my finisher but i’m pretty sure it will be up again to finish the fight if i use it very early (if no assassin jacket)

    • @VicZaneGaming

    • @VicZaneGaming
      @VicZaneGaming  16 дней назад

      I prefer to use roast snapper and cooldown reduction passives. However, I think it's about finding a balance between CDR and things that make you tankier so if you already have more CDR from food or for example mistcaller, then I would go with balanced mind passives instead!

    • @kolimero_
      @kolimero_ 16 дней назад

      @@VicZaneGaming i was using the damage passives from stalker hood and stalker jacket with roast snapper but I saw a lot of people taking few cdr passives so I got confused. Because in head the % it gives is not that much but the chest choice between the dmg or cdr has high numbers. But if I understand you properly is worth to take both on cdr, isn't it? I usually go 5.1 because I'm still getting economy. Thanks for replying, your videos really helped me to get into spear and improving a lot! And sorry for my English, I'm not native speaker
