I do the same thing but with 12 lb floro on a baitcaster with a 3/0 eagle claw, i hook them behind the back fin, they seem to swim better that way. When i feel one on i let them run for a 10 count and set the hook. Have caught giants this way at wilson dam, smallys and largemouth.
Mike Thurman I definitely prefer florocarbon. But that spot is ultra shallow and super clear and has several snags. I find that the neutrally bouyant copolymer keeps me in the strike zone without snags. I do switch back and forth to change the depth though. Also, I like the slight stretch of the copolymer when I have really light line and big fish.
P-line is the CXX is my absolute favorite! I like 6lb test but it's dangerous! We lost a giant after a long fight while Benny Hull was filming us down there one day. Might have made the show if we would have landed it. Thanks for the vid.
Man we need to get together sometime and fish I fish down there all the time and never get that lucky haha I finally just caught my PB about 3 weeks ago she was 9 pounds but I'd definitely love to learn a thing or two and also make some killer videos with you.
This looks familiar.... I have videos from 12 years ago down there doing this but so much has changed since then and it has went down hill so much it's sad. There have been groups the last couple years keeping every single fish they catch using the same methods and it's pathetic. Wish I had never published my videos a lot of times to be honest but it is what it is.
You got a sub from me man. Like the videos! We fishing in Chickamauga a lot
Bassin AF awesome man, maybe I will see you out and about one day
Heck yeah man ill be looking for you. I was out there today with BK Bassin and he caught a smallie
Bassin AF cool I think I saw you guys when I was driving over the dam
Maybe i had my daughter with me
Bassin AF not sure I was driving across dam and saw people fishing that spot
Another great video man! Would love to see a break down of Nickajack, like you did for Chickamauga
Good idea. I'll put that on the list
Way to change it up, good video Caleb!

At 2:20, why didn't u set the hook? R u using circle hook?
FishinDawg1234 light wire octopus hook with light line. Usually I just reel and pull especially with that current

Mike Thurman you are definitely right about hooking them in the tail though, I will alternate next time

porthos6914 yeah man that is good line. I am just not brave enough to use 6 in all that current
Are these fish line shy? Or you just like going light ?
It is more about getting the most natural drift as possible with that bait to get the strike
Nice catch! I think she was over 5
TYLER B/ OHIO FILMS yeah she was right on the line for sure. Just realized I doubled one video clip. Lame sauce. Just edited it. Should process soon
