Black Square Mini in Caviar leather with GHW
Measures: 6.7″ W X 5.2″ H X 3.1″ D
Red Rectangle Mini in Lambskin leather with soft GHW
Measures: 7.9″ W X 4.9 H X 2.8″ D
I don't think either of these are still available but Chanel do release new versions seasonally so it pays to keep checking with your local Chanel store!

I definitely am in love with the Square Mini..but I am biased as I own one the same as yours but silver hardware! It is my favourite bag of all time and can't imagine not owning it! Great comparison though....love the colour of the rectangle!!

Before watching this video I wouldn’t have considered the square mini but I got it recently on my trip and it’s super cute! One thing about wearing bags on my shoulder I am slightly paranoid that someone can take it easily 😳 personally think the move from caviar towards lambskin is bc they want ppl to replace their Chanel bags more often for sales purposes, caviar might just last forever

I have my SA searching for a rectangle mini for me in caviar. She is not having any luck. It looks like the perfecting grab a go bag for the weekends. Thank you for the comparison, I guess if she finds a square in caviar, I wouldn't say no since they are so similar.

I'm also a fan of the Square Mini. I bought the Timeless Clutch (@ Heathrow!) a few years ago. Hubby + I go to a lot of "events" where hands-free is the easiest way to go. Though I love, love, love the clutch, it can be a bit cumbersome to have to put it under the arm, hold a drink and shake hands at the same time. The Square Mini is perfect for those occasions - and then some!

For both the square and rectangular mini, are you able to adjust the length of the chain by tying the chains together from the inside of the bag? I know you can't do that with a WOC, but I heard you can do it with the other classic flaps. Great video and thank you for the review! :)

My SA gave me a tiny clip when I purchased my mini rectangular, the clip can shorten to the length you want and just hide the extra chain in the bag.

I have a Gucci soho and thinking of investing in a Chanel mini but would like to know if you can fit the same in both a mini and soho because I don't think I want anything that holds less than a soho - could you let me know or do a video? Great comparison. Wish I had seen the length comparison before I bought my Chanel Rectangle Mini - I had to sell it because it just didn't work for me, too long. Now I got the Square same as yours but in silver hardware - and that is so much better as I am a shortie :)

+Chase Amie Hehe, TBH I was a bit sucked into it bec the model I bought was the illusive 4 hole mini and whenever someone says limited, extremely rare, blablabla, I lose my senses.... it was navy but black just works best for me.. so a losing game from the beginning

I loved this comparison video! I am hoping to one day get a mini rectangular flap, as even as a petite girl, I love loooooong chain straps. (I am also yearning for a WOC!) If you still have the item number for your red rectangular mini, could you please share it so that I could use it for reference one day? I'm really picky about hardware, and am determined to get a bag in the light gold hardware, but don't know how to express that to the Chanel SA's here in Tokyo, who are so busy with tourists, anyway. So many people say its much more fragile than caviar. Does it scratch easily when things like long nails or keys touch it?

They are both GHW but is it in different shade of gold? Looks like the retangular mini in lighter gold hardware right?

+Andrea Castillo If the hardware tarnishes, Chanel will replace or repair. I personally love GHW and wouldn't be scared off at all!

In my opinion, mini rectangular fits as much as the small classic flap but the m/l flap def fits bit more than mini. According to the price point, I really think it will be great to have these both in your collection, they suit different occasion for sure. That's why I have both and found them really different and both important.
+Nlee I personally don't really think there's that much difference between them. The chain length on the mini is MUCH longer than the medium though so if you want to wear it as a crossbody, it would be good for that! I'm a fan of minis in general so I think there's always room :)
