When this video/song first came out, it made me laugh with happiness. To me, it's a completely joyful and playful "in your face" response to the joyless people who want to tell us who to love, how to love, how to behave. It could not be more upbeat to counteract the sad effect of the people who want to depress our human spirit.

This was not my favorite when it came out as it´s not my type of song, but it has really grown on me and I now enjoy it.
ditto. I think a lot of fans felt that way. But it's cool how INTO it people get at her shows now.
I mean....it's hyper catchy, has a great message, and features some cool weird vocal ideas in the verses.
It's not my favorite Aurora song...but it's great. Also...The Woman I Am, when I first heard that, I didn't like it tbh. But now? It's easily in my top 5 Aurora songs. It's SO good. The syncopation is very cool, that "eeh eeh eeh eeh eeyah" vocal motif is catchy and hopeful and effervescent sounding, the part where she loudly sings the title...is powerful, and the whole message is total Aurora and wonderful.
It's a GREAT song. And that Gullruten performance is stunning visually.
It's so odd to me to remember how much I disliked it when it first came out! :P
It's a fun middle finger but with a serious depth as with most of her music. She's an amazing unapologetic artist that I'm lucky to be alive in this time of Aurora

On my very first listen, I found this song "too pop" from her... and then, I very quickly discovered hundreds of little gems... and the depth of the text.
It's actually an ultra-motivating song. It claims the right to be unique, different. And that's what she does all the time (without forgetting that we are all family).
That makes it a song with a joyful rhythm and in the air of time... but it's a song of her own, in her own way.
She's juste amazing.
Rolf Jamne below mentioned a bossa nova version... I think I've found it... and it's another ecstatic explosion in my head, even more overwhelming. At one point, I think I even heard her laughing while singing.

In her book, Aurora wrote that Cure for me was written right after a therapy. She said She doesn’t like the tension in misapprehension about our nature in love. So She or Us that are aware doesn’t need a cure. No cure for me. We are all unique.

Coming around to this one again (rewatching a lot of Aurora reactions tonight).
This one was somewhat controversial in the Aurora community when it was first released, because it was so different from her. A lot of fans hated it at first, but I rarely hear that anymore. I think most fans have grown to like it. The iconic music video certainly helps.

She wrote this song as a protest against the conversion therapy practiced in some countries including her own to “cure” homosexuals. She’s bisexual and doesn’t limit her love to anyone. I’m hetero but support gays, especially lesbians and bisexual women. Women are discriminated against too much even without the factor of sexuality.
She has several different emotional statements on this album "The Gods We Can Touch"... you are in for many different notes! I would recommend next her live performances from the VEVO Studio for "The Woman I Am", "Heathens" and "Potion For Love", or her music video "Temporary High" to follow this one! It is definitely very different sound from all her other songs, and she even called it ugly several times. But it has a strong message hiding in the fun beat, she likes that clashing sound and message. Here is an explanation from her from an interview:

"Yes, it is about when the world makes people believe, that the person they were born to be need to be cured or fixed.
And then a little more specifically, that thing about conversion therapy, which is still legal, also here in Norway.
Which... is just absolutely terrible that someone should think, that who they are is so wrong that they need to be cured of it.
I get a bit sassy, well, it was just what came out of me, I... in a way it's... it wasn't something I did on purpose,
it just became a bit like that, and then with the sassy, in a way, with the snappy melody, then became...
or it... it (melody) prayed on it's knees, that "he" (song) should get that kind of production too,
which is quite new to me, but I enjoy being able to make all kinds of music,
because I think... I think... everyone's music should just be all kinds of weird.

She could be acting. But she says everyone would just have her do sweet pixielike characters. But she would rather find it interesting to do complex, disturbed or even evil characters
