Don't know why it periodically needs this, but there would be no way to know this as it's not in the manual for the television.

Hi John, thanks for the video but my I’m a bit lost. Do I have to do both processes one with the numbered remote and one with a smart remote or do I just follow the process of the smart remote because that is what I have.
The “smart” remote is basicly just a cheap version of the classic remote. Missing most features, and calling it “smart”;) You need the classic remote to be able to hit the needed buttons to get into the service menu. But do not change anything in the service menu without you being very sure it is harmless. It can be so tempting to try out settings inside there to try to find hidden gems features... but some of them are like nuclear bombs which will render your tv dead. So destructive that you actually may have to fork out a lot of money getting it to a servicecenter and they having to change the motherboard and install new software on it from scratch. Yes that is how awfull samsung is! No warnings in which menuoptions are dangerous, and no factory reset will not just put it back to previous setting! So be carefull.

There are actually aprox 6 different methods depending on what region the tv was manufactured. Typical samsung. I think europe it may be: First power off the tv. Then in sequence: Info, settings (or menu), mute, power
Worked on Samsung Crystal UDH series 7. Now keep in mind you won't be able to have it all. If you decide to choose region A, you will lose region B apps. Or you will have to reset and start the whole process again and again

Yes, you will lose your installed apps and their settings. Also some apps you currently using might be not available in other store region. For example EMBY since it's only available in us, uk, and Ireland.
my samsung tv stuck at the smart hub terms and condition menu, it can't even connect to the server. Did everything from the service menu to change the region and so on, still failed to connect. No problem connecting the wifi just smart hub server can't be reached.

Make sure you click on United States of America and not United States Virgin Islands. I personally change back to USA store location region and can confirm that IPTV Smarters is available for installation just like mention at their website (Note : Current version is only availabe for SAMSUNG TV and availabe in US Store Only)
