  • This is the latest new release by Christopher Ward, the Twelve X and it is a very special watch celebrating 20 years of CW and 10 years of the in-house calibre SH21. This watch is simply incredible, the specifications speak for themselves and the build quality is there to be seen on the screen. I enjoyed this watch for 24 hours before having to give it back and I spent every moment with it!
    Here is a link to the Christopher Ward website where you can order this watch! This is an open series so every can have one if they want one and have the funds to pay for it!
    Apologies, I quoted the wrong price in my video, the watch is now £4,120 on the bracelet.

      They might have shot their bolt here trying to price match with the big boys. We shall see how many they sell. Once most people are prepared to blow 5k on a watch they want people to know what it is, a recognised Swiss brand. It ain't right but they'll go for a worse Tudor instead.

    For such a skeletonized watch, I'd say the legibility is excellent. They couldn't have chosen a better handset for it. I love the way the minute hand touches the very edge of its minute track.

      Coming from a big fan of Zenith, I'd actually pick them CW over the Defy, because it actually is legible and it focuses on the mechanics of the movement rather than the Defy's focus on structural elements. Never thought I would pick a CW over my favourite manufacturer !

    • @mikehowells7746
      @mikehowells7746 5 месяцев назад +1

      It's a real shame that other watch manufacturers don't incorporate that adjustment on their butterfly clasps. I've got a good fit on my Longines Conquest but it does tighten up when it gets warm.

      @@matthewgooch6892 I don't own a Zenith but the Defy skeleton is a grail watch for me. As soon as CW showed the Twelve X I immediately compared it with the Defy and I completely agree the Twelve X beats it with the skeletonisation, you can see much more of the movement.

    One of the few skeleton watches that I like. Price though...Ouch. I think the biggest issue now with CW is the lack of places people can go and look at one before buying one. Sure they have returns but when you live on the other side of the planet it's a big ask to spend so much on a watch you have never seen or tried on first. So if they want to keep going up in price and play with the big boys then they need to get past the direct only model and have at least a few authorised outlets so people can see and try on before buying one.

    The 20yr anniversary watch should have focused on the core customer that got them to where they are today. 1-2k in cost, bang for buck, high quality. I can definitely see the value for money this watch has to offer, Tudor and Longines has nothing even close as far as design. I think this has a double spring barrel with a 120 hr power reserve which is crazy. But its out of my price range comfort zone and not a fan of skelly watches in the first place. I believe I saw something like this on W&W. Integrated bracelet with skeleton dial. A Zenith or Hublot if I'm not mistaken.
    And my opinion is still same.
    Nope. Not like it.

    No matter how well made, how advanced this piece may be...$6,000+AUD for a CW is just insane. I see CW fanboys online trying to explain the price away, but their reasons don't fully wash. This watch is a big no for me.

    For around 5K I'd much rather spend my money on a true classic timepiece. It's simply too much of an ask for this. Max 3K seem more of a realistic offering I'd say. 5K is wayyy wayyy tooo much.
