I agree with all of your points, build quality is excellent. All nuts and bolts are stainless steel and frame is 5mm thick and powder coated. I purchased a Grande through your affiliate link a couple of weeks ago. I was at first worried on spending so much on a BBQ but after seeing the quality, I can see that I have many many years of use to come with the Bono and I'm really happy with my decision. I have since purchased Inkbird meat thermometers, a 40cm pizza stone and the Bono half moon cast iron plate / griddle (mainly for smash burgers). Thank you for introducing me to this product. Mine is in red too :)
Glad you like it and look forward to seeing more cooks, I just bought a kamado kettle joe on sale for £399 which is a steal. It has a ceramic firebox and the rest of it is steel, it comes with divide and conquer and the slow roller insert. Happy smoking
Hi Tom, just ordered one from Aldi as there is a 20% discount at the moment bringing them to a very reasonable £329. Quite excited to get going and will enjoy the hints and tips. I'm historically a 'gas' man so I have a lot to learn!
Cheers Tom, been going back and forth about whether to get for a few days, this is a big help! Looking to get the Bono shortly and looks like your channel will be a big help to a Kamado newbie like me!
Mate you will love it. If you can purchase through bbq-life.co.uk it would mean a great deal and send a small commission my way. There's loads more to come this year, Plus this afternoons video may interest you too
nice to see your hard work has earned you a freebie but.... don't panic over the ash-catcher. Just use a suitable sized dog bowl (steel obviously, not plastic!! LOL) and it will catch all the ash with no issues. An ash tray is only useful for adding wood chips during a cook as the hot ashes ignite the chips. You still need to to use the provided scraper to fully clean all the ashes so what's the point? Apart from that, YES, a very nice piece of kit but if my AK 2022 outlives it's warranty, I'll still be quids-in when I replace it.
Hi mate. I'm looking at purchasing the Bono grande. My only concern is the daisy wheel vent in general. I dont have cover to cook under and concerned in the Great British weather, too much water will get in. Have you seen the smokeware rain cap? Thay have one that fits the Kamado Joe's and BGE so was wondering if you know if the vents are the same size as one of these so would fit the Bono?
Hiya ive asked and they dont know if it will fit. He doesn't have the dimensions at home but can get them tomorrow. My vent is 16.5cm outer diameter if that helps. The other thing you could be is order it at the lower price today and ring them tomorrow when they can give you the dimensions. If its no good just cancel the order. Sorry its not a lot of help here is my link if you do decide to buy 👍🏻kamadokings.co.uk/grande-red/?ref=Bbqlife
Thanks for finding that out for me! I tried to purchase it last night. However, it kept crashing on me and wouldn't allow me to pay. Ive gone to try again today and it's no long on sale. This is very frustrating, I've emailed them direct to see if anything can be done as it was no fault of mine. Fingers crossed I don't have to look at something else.
Brilliant the a kamado bono will suit you well. As I say any questions just ask. Or I can ping you an affiliate link if you don't mind buying through it. 👍🏻
For someone who’s busy and probably not going to use the Kamado to its full potential and it’s only use would be to make tomahawks and large steaks. Would you recommend maybe getting a gas bbq to reduce to effort and time for the cook?
Yes a gas sounds great for what you want to do. However you won't get the same flavour you would get from charcoal. Gas bbqs aren't that cheap anymore either. I would suggest a weber kettle and a chimney starter. You can be up and running in 15 mins and still have fantastic flavour. A kettle is a fantastic investment too. 10 year guarantee and capable of doing fantastic cooks.
BTW, please ensure in future videos that you explain the 'lifetime' warranty. This only applies to ceramic parts. Some parts, like your much heralded gasket, are only covered for ONE year.
Jesus thats a bit of an omission, sounds like sales man speak to miss out a point like that? In fact I just watched it back and its explicitly stated ‘everything’ is covered. So its definitely only 1 year? Yep, lifetime only for ceramic parts, 2 for metal parts and grill, 1 for everything else. To make such a point of this being better than other grills like the Aldi because ‘everything’ is covered with lifetime warranty comes across as a massive shill to me, seems like sold out for free BBQ equipment and sponsorship.

I believe the bonos are same size vent at the KJ. I'll ask and get back to you ASAP. What colour you looking at?
@BBQ LIFE that would be much appreciated thanks 👍🏼 definitely the red for me!! Looks far more striking 👌🏼

Great video as I am stuck between this, the Joe or even the ynni
This is basically the same as the ynni and better bang for your buck then the Joe. Any questions just ask
@@BBQLIFEI'll get a look through your videos as I am a virgin to this type of cooking lol
@AutoFreak10 completely new to bbq? If so I wouldn't go for a kamado
Oh definitely not new to BBQ, I have always been a gas Weber man and thrn tradional charcoal so looking to expand @BBQLIFE

Seems to be a better option that the Aldi and almost within the same price range?
Much better product if you have any questions just ask 👍🏻

So what’s happened to the Aldi one you preached about for a couple of years bud xxx

@@BBQLIFE you should change to a kamado channel instead of brand of kamado channel. Would stop comments like this if you ever upgrade again lol

Same warranty on the big name brands. I stick by the fact this gasket is miles better then felt. 🔥🍺👍🏻
Sold your self out for freebie’s .
If that's how you feel I can't change that. I happy with my choices
