I'm so happy you mentioned the trick of rotating the wheels and then working on the bulb. I was really trying to avoid taking my wheel off just to replace a bulb. Thanks for the help! 2013 F30 328i
Thanks for the video. I bought the same bulbs and they are way better than stock! I'm right handed and found turning the driver side wheel inward worked best for me. I had to do the entire job by feel. On the other side, I left the wheels where they were so now the passenger side wheel was facing outward and did the everything like before left handed now that I had some experience. Looking back on it, I think the outward for the passenger side did give me more space where I needed it doing everything left handed. Since I wasn't going to repeat the experiment on the right side, I called the job done and moved on. By the way, I used a quarter to pop the outer cover clasps which worked great as they fit perfectly to do this job and require minimum space. Any job I walk away from with no burns or cuts is a win and this was just a dirty job since you are in the wheel well with a tire that's in the way. I did both lights in about 15 minutes with most of the time spent on the first one.
I was reading from the forums about how others did this, but the video deff helps a lot better, especially bending he metal chips got me stuck for a while. Thanks for the video! I got the Philips H7 X treme vision.
No problem, hope it's helpful. Yea, unless you get in there and try it, it's hard to know what to expect. Just be careful that you don't cut yourself in there!
I found it easier to just jack up the car. I didn't have to remove the wheel entirely, but jacking up the car allowed more room to see the 3 tabs (to bend).
Kies Motorsports thanks for the video! I wanted to replace my low and high beam bulbs for now and install LEDs. What bulb size should I use? Do you have any recommendations?
How many bulbs are there to change total. I have the yellowish lights and want to upgrade to the bright white. Do I need to change the high beam and low beam?

I’m trying to replace my low beams because they’re out and I have a 2015 bmw 328i. Below my high beams are my daytime running lights and NOT the low beam. The low beams are next to my high beams/daytime running lights and can only be accessed through the wheel well. Pretty sure you’re confusing the lights.
Evening Brian, hope team and family are keep well. Do you know how to remove the bulb in the interior roof console, front and back on the F30 I’ve looked all over and can’t find anything. Can you please help, don’t want to wreck the interior.
Hey Brian, I installed the Depo headlights on my F30. The lights look great and are better than stock headlights. Yet not very powerful. With this video of yours do you think I can replace the depo provided bulbs with Sylvania H7?
I did this upgrade and I feel it didn’t make a big difference. I would love to see a good option for LED bulb from Halogen without changing the headlights.
I have done some research says that if I change the bulbs, I'll get error lights on that will make the headlights strobe. Do you have that kinds of problems?
Brian thanks for the Great video We do appreciate it.. I have a 2014 bmw 328i xdrive the factory blubs are really bad over a year ago I purchased about five different sets of blubs.. Either the don't fit properly or I get that error message or the strobe light effect when turning them on.. SMH Why would BMW put such terrible lights in these vehicles I would assume this is a major safety issue very hard to drive at night unless you're fortunate to have street lights on every corner like NYC.. but driving outside of the city it's horrible and especially when it's raining.. tractor trailers passing me as if standing still, because I'm driving so slow.. Please help.. can you suggest any blubs that are compatible without setting off errors and are much much brighter. Thanks in advance 👍
I tried taking off the low beam headlights and it didn't want to come off, do any of them have a lock or something? I didn't see anything on it but yet yours came off like nothing but mine doesn't want come out
I tried to do the same, however, in my 2013 F30 the top tab seems to rest on some thing behind and can not be bent back. Is there another way to remove the bulb? Update: I tried again by bending only two lower tabs, then tilting the bulb such that its tip points downward about 20 degree while pulling it out at the same time. It worked. When installing the new bulb, make sure that the small rectangular piece of metal base is on the top and goes into the headlight enclosure first. The two lower tabs should be bent back to lock the bulb once it is in desired position. This process is a bit tricky, especially when doing it without removing front wheel ;-)

Nothing can beat bi-xenon lights. If only BMW can make it standard on the sports models upwards. That would have been helpful and cost less, rather than buying 4 different bulbs to make your car headlights look decent and not be driving at 35mph like Kies Motorsports said earlier lol.
The bulb gets very hot and if its not secure, it will burn the surrounding plastic and smoke will ruin the whole headset. I had to replace the entire light unit at $300. Make sure the bulb is secure when replacing with the metal prongs. The bulb should not rattle what so ever. May be better to remove the wheel when doing the lower dipped beam from my experience. Best of luck.
Absolutely impossible to get the bulb back in under the wheel well, no clue how to do it. Il take it to a shop and let them do it, not worth the hassle
Very informative video. Something I have noticed in all of your videos, you repeat "So you can go ahead" with the emphasis on "go ahead". It sounds like a conversational tick, something you may want to think about when presenting in other videos.
Thanks! Yea, we did that a lot in our old videos.. A lot of time what happens is you film for a hour, but when you edit everything together it seems like you say it every other word! We actually try to not say it at all in our newer videos..
I've replaced my oem philips low beam bulbs with Sylvania Silverstar zXe and could not see a difference, just a very little whiter, maybe, even though zXe is likely to be even whiter then yours. I honestly don't recommend wasting around 60$ on a pair (2 needed for low and high beams). My expectations were much higher.
Anyone can maybe help me. I changed the fog lights on my BMW 335i f30 to some LED's and now I'm having an issue on my dash saying "fog light malfunction." Any one know why?

Wow has it been 4 years already since I first watched this when I got my 3 series. Thanks bryan the whole way!
Definitely saved me a trip to a shop... also, if you have large hands you may find this to be very difficult...
Changing Low Beam Bulb - DONE ☑️. Thank for the video.
You have the best explanation, the little details is what matters which you have covered, Thank you
I found it easier to just jack up the car. I didn't have to remove the wheel entirely, but jacking up the car allowed more room to see the 3 tabs (to bend).
Yup it looks so easy. I couldn't do it and in the end had to take the wheel off to see anything.
once again, you're insanely helpful
Outstanding in the rain!! Thank you!!!
I love my F30 but boy do I despise the halogens. I have pocket flashlights that illuminate better. Thanks for the vid btw.
Kies Motorsports thanks for the video!
I wanted to replace my low and high beam bulbs for now and install LEDs. What bulb size should I use? Do you have any recommendations?
Hi, you'll most likely need to have it coded
Kies Motorsports aaahh 😒
How many bulbs are there to change total. I have the yellowish lights and want to upgrade to the bright white. Do I need to change the high beam and low beam?

I found it much easier by pulling the tire.
Thanks. It is easier if you turn the wheel toward the curb
PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHEN U COME TO MIAMI!!!!
Hey Brian if i wanted to go led is the bulb only H7 or could it be H8 or H11? I know you’re knowledgeable about these
I’m trying to replace my low beams because they’re out and I have a 2015 bmw 328i. Below my high beams are my daytime running lights and NOT the low beam. Extremely helpful thank you very much !

I’ve looked all over and can’t find anything. Can you please help, don’t want to wreck the interior.
My metal prongs for the low beams won’t grab and it’s impossible to grip them to to pull back over... could mines be different?
I have the same issue, highly annoying clips they barely hold the bulb now :/
Hey Brian can you please help with changing the high beams on the depo headlights? I cant find any help with it thanks
How you change it?
Hey Brian, I installed the Depo headlights on my F30. The lights look great and are better than stock headlights. Yet not very powerful. With this video of yours do you think I can replace the depo provided bulbs with Sylvania H7?
Hi Brian. Thanks for the video.
One suggestion is to use more camera setups to show more of the parts you are working on.
Best regards
What bulb size are the bulbs that you pulled out for the last part of the vid
I cant seem to get the bulb out. The connector disconnects with the bulb still in the headlight
Looking to install these today, did you see much of a difference?
A little bit.. it's not night and day, but it is better
Kies Motorsports for 45 bucks that's not bad, also will make it look better at night
Kies Motorsports just as a suggestion I would love to see a video installing new DTR lights
Thanks, Max. I'll add it to the list. Thanks for the suggestion!
I managed to buy a DTR led lights (error free) off eBay and seems to be working fine. Just have to make sure they are error free.
You make it so easy
I did this upgrade and I feel it didn’t make a big difference. I would love to see a good option for LED bulb from Halogen without changing the headlights.
Dude have you any tips on changing the halo ring bulb on the factory halo ring xenon headlights . My halo rings have stopped working on passenger side
My lights are secured by torx screws on my 16 320i xdrive
Great video! There shouldn't be a single negative comment for this vid.
Is it possible to change only the glass of the headlight?
Thanks heaps bro! You are a legend
Thank you for helpful video! Much appreciated!
I have done some research says that if I change the bulbs, I'll get error lights on that will make the headlights strobe. Do you have that kinds of problems?
Hi, that sounds like more of a Xenon issue with aftermarket lights. Halogens should be fine. Do you have Xenons?
Kies Motorsports I have the halogen like yours, and like you said, it's terrible. I have ordered some Philips 5000k bulbs. hope everything goes well
I've only heard of issues when using the "xenons" that are plug and play. Let me know how it goes!
Finished installed and worked great for a week so far, everything works fine! Thanks
Great to hear!
2014 328d I did it thanks for the video

They have these tabs that I show a little of in the video. Sometimes, you have to carefully bend them back to get the bulb out
I tried to do the same, however, in my 2013 F30 the top tab seems to rest on some thing behind and can not be bent back. Is there another way to remove the bulb?

Good tip! That bulb design is terrible..
Thank you for your comments. Now I've resolved my issue.
Thank you very much... this was so helpful!
Are all 4 bulbs h7?
The worst headlights? mine are amazing! although I have the bi-xenon. Is replacment of bi-xenon the same process as for halogen?
Ha, it's only the halogen that are the bad ones, per the report. You're are awesome! I haven't changed the Xenon's, yet..

+Emmanuel Lawrence ha, it's a little embarrassing that the F30 halogen got beat by a Prius lol.

What about putting error cancellers?
Are both the high and low beams the same bulbs?
takes 4 bulbs to change hi's and low's. All are H7 same type bulbs. they say the headlight housing throws the highs farther down the road
My 2015 f30 head light does not have that top opening
Thank you!
Absolutely impossible to get the bulb back in under the wheel well, no clue how to do it. Il take it to a shop and let them do it, not worth the hassle
I have a 2013 and I don't see any rear access for the low beam...?? Do I need to take the freaking front bumper off?

The F30 halogens are TERRIBLE.
How can you change it if they are projectors ?
can u post pics or videos of your car with this new light? thanks
Hi, I'm going to do a walk around soon :)
hey did you use h7 for low beam and high beam?
Hi, I believe it's the same bulb. I'm running LEDs now..
Which LEDs did you install - are they better, and did you have to add the capacitors to eliminate dashboard warnings & the other noted issues?
@@russellstokes3631 .. use "error free" canbus H7 LED's . You'll need 4 bulbs to do Hi's and Low's..all the same style
Can’t get the bulb off
I went with leds
Anyone can maybe help me. I changed the fog lights on my BMW 335i f30 to some LED's and now I'm having an issue on my dash saying "fog light malfunction." Any one know why?
Your car doesn't like the bulbs you put in. Try looking for "error free" bulbs
hooosifa find bulbs thst say CANBUS compatible and error free.
reset the sensor thru menu butt in on mine button
James Johnson it'll always come back. need to come the warm and cold bulb checks off.
Thanks for the video, but the Prius is shown in the survey to be the best and BMW, along with Audi and Acura, were marginal. Mercedes was worse!
My hands to damn big
this is not a 2012 328i
