    Thank you so much Rose for taking us with you on this attempt at making Ugandan food in rural China. Although the cooked matoke wasn't what you'd expected it to be, the chicken and peanut sauce looked delicious 😊.
    To those of you who've been insisting on Rose making Ugandan dishes, now you know why it's not easy to do that. The ingredients may not be available and difficult to obtain!

    Rose is very very smart. This woman knows how to make almost every dish by memory and such authetic, unique dishes as well. Also, with less than 12 years in china, she also learned how to speak a very difficult language fluently as an adult (which is extremely difficult). She speaks with 0 hesitation. This woman is amazingly smart seriously.

    Wow! Rose that was nice chicken and groundnuts luwombo but I think the banana that you received were not our (Ugandan) usual green edible bananas it looked like kivuvu one that is cooked when it's ripe so well done and the banana leaves were very nice. Remember when the bananas are cooked, you mash them put them back for a while then serve. I can't wait for you to be back home n I love Mei.❤❤❤❤🇺🇬🇺🇬

    Rose, u r showing me how we Jamaicans have maintained practices from the Motherland, Africa…we have a beloved treat that has the use of the😊 banana leaf as an integral part…. Duckunoo , also know as blue draws or tie-a-leaf, is a delicious treat made from cornmeal, sweet potato, green banana, freshly grated coconut, coconut milk, and a blend of spices, wrapped in green banana leaf and boiled for a moist and incredibly tasty pudding…

    • @rasempress9724
      @rasempress9724 Год назад +2

      U know I was taken aback at how she peeled them…using the knife to ‘slice’ away the ‘skin’…In Jamaica we slice the banana skin along its length in 2 places n then , using fingers just peel it away leaving the banana exposed..this way we dont nick any of the ‘meat’ of the banana..however when making cow cod soup, (Bull penis, bananas, Scotch bonnet peppers, broth (white rum), we wash the green banana in its skin, cut it in about 3 pieces n add tonthe soup….for some reason , COW COD SOUP is deemed an aphrodisiac….same for our MANNISH WATER….Mannish water is no misnomer. This man-made soup, which features meat from male goats and a side-effect of sexual vigor, is an undeniably masculine dish. To make the soup, men use as many parts of a rammy (male goat) as they please, including the head, feet, entrails, and testicles.’….as a child, we had a butcher who was famous for his soups…weddings, parties, fairs etc, he was in demand to make the soups

    I don’t know how to feel about the bananas. « They are bigger and longer in my hometown » and then her friend says that the ones she got are so big 💀😂

      I wonder if putting salt on bananas would have helped the softening process🧂🍌🤔

      @@SweeTeaNLemon Not really, the bananas should soften regardless just like mash potatoes.

      True and thank you👍 .We've never eaten those bananas or plantains. Would love to try though. Yet the food they did make looked delicious. We normally have coffee and a bite with Rosa, her family, friends or whomever she invites.
      Very peaceful life.
