Do you have any idea if the daisy channel fans works with MSI Mystic? I have a DeepCool LS720 and I can’t make the RGB work as individual fans and pump. They only work as one. 🥲
Got it on my MB and it's honestly garbage. Either you put it on rainbow mode or you try to change the colour and lighting fx and the light turns to white.
What I don't like about these RGB softwares is that there are very little effects using 2 or more custom colors. I'd just love to see a two-color rotation effect, etc... Software control seems to be having less diverse effects than some of the button or remote RGB controllers I have seen, which include 2 - or 3- colored effects
I have complete MSI rig with argb everything. I spent a fortune doing it and now I'm kinda wishing I would have just went for cheap lighting with a remote. Motherboard control lighting is a bit of a let down.
Honestly, I'd be absolutely fine with paying significantly more to have a finer control of the RGB in the case. Something similar to ADJ's MyDMX 3.0 where I could create my own patterns instead of having to pick from a handful of presets. My current PC is my first RGB build (all my previous builds have used the same Antec steel case I bought in like '05 or '06, so there was no glass panel), and it was mildly disappointing to find out how bad the communication is - the RGB built into the case can only be controlled with NZXT Cam and the mobo can only be controlled with Mystic Lights, so there's no way to sync up the lighting. Additionally, there's a noticeable difference in the hue between the RAM sticks and the other components, which might just be interference from the diffuser, but is still a (very) minor complaint.
I just don't get why ASUS is the only motherboard manufacturer that cares about doing ARGB properly with, you know, addressable leds. Very limiting when it comes to builds if you want to have a gradient effect
I bought a new MSI 3060 last week and tried the 3 latest releases of of the MSI Center. Mystic Lights isn't even an option to install anymore. So my GPU stays dark. Ridiculous software.
I've got a msi mag x570, msi center and mystic light only shows up with an off white colour for every colour preset I try but it does do rgb cycle, so weird it doesn't work in anything other than rgb.
My biggest complaint is you have to set everything up from scratch after an update. I set it to CPU temperature and use it to be able to gauge how hot my system is running at any given time. I swap the colors around and color switch points, and have to redo everything after every update.
It is so dissapointing that such a huge company half assed their lighting features. It doesn't hold a candle to Icue or even Aura, and aura is not great. The coolest thing MSI did is game sync and I am excited for when they get more games connected to it.
Nah my experience of Mystic Light is garbage. B450 you can select the colour, but when it changes it doesn't fade or have a smooth transition, the board doesn't have a memory chip for me to turn off the default static red LEDS on it, and why the hell can't GPU manufacturers make it so their GPUs can sync up with whatever RGB software you choose to run? Why would I need Mystic Light to change the colour of my MSI GPU lighting? Why can't anything else do it?
RGB Explained is finally back! Despite how popular RGB is, you're the only one I know of to be actually reviewing the different RGB softwares out there. Thank you for putting in the time and effort to do so! I have 2 questions: 1) How often do you think you'll update this series? I really enjoy it, and I think that provides really good information for people looking into lighting up their setups. 2) Are you planning on reviewing any third-party/open source softwares (e.g. OpenRGB or SignalRGB), or just the motherboard manufacturer ones? I personally use SignalRGB, and from my experience with it and from what I've seen of first-party RGB softwares, it's *miles* ahead of the game.
Hey! Yeah, I thought it was something that needed exploring... I struggled to find depth when it comes to rgb and its absolutely a topic worth exploring 😊 Thanks! Im hoping to have 1 up every 2 months right now 🤞... I've reduced my video output to 2 a month for the moment as I want to keep / increase video quality and have time to work on some personal things too. Absolutely, the idea is to go onto Aura next, round up of Mobo rgb, then onto custom solutions (corsair / nzxt / razer), round up, third party, round up... Then even explore diy solutions maybe? My hope is that this collection of videos will be the ultimate resource for rgb 😊

I am now stuck with hardware that cannot do what I bought it to do because of MSI, and I am proper annoyed. I wish you had raked them over the coals for this, as they deserve. I will agree with you that their software for RGB stuff is actually pretty good, but that is not what people are buying in 2022 and that needs to be pointed out and made aware. Want ARGB? @@xSeeJay91x I have been partially successful with MysticWhy, a GitHub package. Hi i also have the msi mystic light software. i plugged argb fans into a hub then the hub into the argb header on the motherboard. but in mystic light i cant control the fan colors

Think of it like a USB extender it's all connected with one cable to the computer but still show up as individual devices connected the fans are basically the same way Daisy chain and hubs do the same exact thing but with fans
have you tried to do the razer taichi b550? I got it and the rgb lags with the effects. Like how you mentioned with the breathing effect. would you consider looking into razer chroma?
Mystic Light has 27 modes (Saying 27 instead of 28, because I'm not counting "Random" as an actual mode here)... and roughly... 4 of them are worth anything at all... Best bet is to put your LEDs on different headers JRAINBOW1 and JRAINBOW2, then set the style the same, but adjust light speed and cycle time, to offset your lights for a nice, but still tame show... But other than that... Mystic Light is rubbish... 3 speeds for Light Speed? Cmon, give us a real slider, and not "click/click/click" junk. MSI also needs to give people a small explanation of what each mode does... 27 modes and some of them respond to the system in some way (temperature, power use, time of day?, etc)... They should allow multiple modes "stacked" as well... Say... Visor at all times, but if the CPU hits 75° then flash all LEDs Red, or whatever... And no "Game Mode" integration? MSI Center tells you "Mystic Light needs an update"? Yes please! (Because, it has to be new modes, or awesome new features/options, right?) Wait, no... it doesn't change a single thing... not one little option has changed/been added/been removed, even... And... it resets to "Unicorn Puke" Full on ARGB rainbow flow after every Mystic Light update... So, since you can't save your profiles... It's back to manually setting everything back up again... I was typing this as I was watching/listening to your video and you've hit on pretty much every pro/con that I've typed out, but... I'm not deleting all of this (in hopes that maybe someone from MSI sees that there are users here that really like the "idea" of Mystic Light but want to pull their hair out at its horrible piss-poor execution) and welcome everyone else who uses Mystic Light to post their "C'mon MSI, this is a no-brainer to change and get ahead of EVERY other ARGB software out there!" Thankfully, SignalRGB by WhirlwindFX is working with most of the MSI boards, and if you have one that isn't supported yet, just jump on their discord, ask nicely, and they'll do their best to get a plugin working for your board model.
i got a MSI b450 mortar max, and it doesn't have rainbow effect on it. any tutorail on how to enable it? i only hav cycl color, steady, flashing cycle, random, breathing and music
so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong because I can't see the mystic light features. I only see mystic light settings tab and nothing else. What am I doing wrong?
I tried using other profiles for different lighting and it does not even work, I used mixer on the first profile and no matter what effect I pick on the second profile it just always use the mixer effect from the first profile after showing the intended effect for a bit then switching back even though the mixer is not even picked.
Geez, I've been fighting this software tooth and nail since I installed it. Yellow and orange wouldn't work unless I typed the numbers in. Sometimes an effect will work, sometimes nuthin'. The temp color slider won't move. Clicking at colors on the color wheel is iffy at best so memorizing numbers of color values is a thing I guess. Always full of surprises.
I dont use mystic light but i do have an msi motherboard and the default color it gives to my aftermarket fans is that awful rainbow color. I have it so it changes once it completes booting up through my L connect software but id like my lian li fans to skip the brief rainbow color altogether any way to do that without mystic?
i have 2 5v argb headers 5 fans each but is it possible to add 2 colors to one single fan. i have 24 leds on each fan. it should be technically possible. but so far i can only do 1 header one color and the other another header. and let me tell you it can get a little confusing with the wires when all daisy chained behind case
Good video. But I think I need to show how you have connected the fan cables to achieve that independent effect between fan and fan, or how I could do to achieve that effect, since when I connect the fans to a Hub, they all repeat the same effect and not cumulatively.
when i power on the pc the led strip bliks red until i login in windows and mystic light loads, but the corsair rams saves the rainbow effect. So if want to use linux instead windows the effects are not sync
Hi, my question : i ve got 4 argb fans (all mystic light supported) also an msi b550 a pro mainboard + asrock gpu 6800 xt with rgb. Is it possible to sync all devices with the mystic light Software? Thank you very much!

Not sure if it's only me or someone else has this problem but I can't get MSI Center to work at all.. I've already preinstalled it 10 times and still only works first time after reinstall and that's it, keeps crashing every other time when I try to run it. Apart form MSI Center I do have LianLi L-Connect 3 installed for better control of my fans. Unsure if this is what's causing problem or not. Hope that someone will be able to help.
Help! pressing open mystic light does nothing but take me to live udpate scan wich does nothing at all. on my pc mystic light came as a standalone program but i can not find it anymore.
The biggest issue for me I found was that I have to turn off overwriting third party settings in mystic light settings to be able to control my Corsair RGB RAM sticks. But this only works if you have also the Corsair ICue installed and have them both ( Mystic Light and ICue) set to start with system start up.
I'm struggling to get all my devices to sync. Even though they're all recognised and showing up. I select sync all devices. Apply. Nothing. They just carry on doing their own thing.

Hi, great review. I didn't even know that there was a new software, i was still using dragon center. I wanted to know how did you make to have the stack effect goes from the rear fan to the bottom front? i can't do it they all have the stack effect at the same time
Mystic light doesn’t pick up my corsair ram sticks! It does show my gpu and fans. But it doesn’t give me the option for my ram sticks? Any suggestions?

Thanks for the review of this. I have a B450 MSI and upgraded my memory to Kingston Fury RGBs. When using the Mystic Light it seems that the memory does not seem to link up with the RGB of the motherboard. I selected sync all but it seems the memory colour comes out different so I must be missing something. Also I noticed the JRGB headers (x2) on the board which are for strips. How can one install RGB fans, can these connect to the JRGB Pins? and can you run say 2x fans off the one pin? Any recommendation would be great, thanks all.
No, RGB and ARGB are incompatible headers. Bottom line is that if the connector fits, it'll probably work, if they don't, it won't. I don't know what JRGB is?
OMG MSI! I HAD A MSI X570 BOARD AND LOVED YOUR MYSTIC LIGHT RGB CONTROL - I UPGRADED TO AM5 AND WENT WITH A GIGABYTE BOARD.. AND THEIR RGB CONTROL STINKS.. SO I SENT THEIR BOARD BACK AND PAID MORE FOR YOUR X670 BOARD.. WELL IT FORCED A NEW DOWNLOAD OF MSI CENTER AND ALL THE STUFF I LOVED ABOUT MYSTIC LIGHT IS GONE OR RUINED.. OMG MSI! DON'T MAKE ME HATE YOU.. GIVE US BACK ALL OUR SCHEMES WE SO LOVED!
I have an MSI B350M Gaming Pro from an old build that didn't have anything RGB inside it and repurposed the motherboard for a newer build that has ThermalRIght RGB fans. I cannot figure out for the life of me how to change the color of my fans so I'm hoping this software gives me that ability as the fans are stuck on static red and that has to be my least favorite RGB color.
Idk. When I first turn on my fans it has a certain color scheme that SHOULD just be rainbow. MSI does NOT have the same color scheme available and it is driving me crazy trying to find it
As someone who has multiple MSI products, their software is awful and very slow. I personally don't like the way a lot of their colours look in comparison to other software, not as bright and colors always look washed out with certain settings.
Great series RGB Explained and awesome to see this topic being covered. Unfortunately I’ve found, fro: personal experience, Gigabyte (love their mobos’) RGB Fusion is garbage, Asus Aura Sync isn’t much better and MSI Mystic Light is the best of the bunch (still not great thou). All manufacturers are pushing their RGB & related software, but need to really improve what they’re offering 🤦🤦♂️🤭😂🤣.
Hey dude! Yeah, the way i view the motherboard software is that the companies likely see it as an expense, instead of an investment... its a shame because it could be so much better. Hope your'e good!
Hm, interesting, my jrainbow detects my devices as one fan, so i can do like 72 cycles, it just blackouts. Anyone know why my motherboard is detecting 3 ARGB fans as one? motherboard is msi x570-a pro
My MSI RGB worked when I first started using the computer, now it randomly stopped working. There is no clear fix for this issue and its so frustrating. MSI this is unacceptable.
I got to chip in my experience with MSI mystic light soft. MSI moving to MSI Centre distro, has broken game sync and Razer Chroma connect support. I was banging my head on a wall for 11days already, and apperently MSI knows about it! So we are waiting for fixes for 3rd party RGB control programs
Are you getting an issue that randomly your rams RGB turns off and you cant turn it back on and only thing you can do it turn off the pc and turn it back on
@@Elegostmanecorn Before I answer to that, I got to say that I find a way to make it work. Just plug in any razer peripheral that works with synapse 3.0. MSI seems to only enable it when you plugged anything razer atm. Now about ram, My A-data rgb sticks do not work a all in chroma sync mode at all. Sometimes after swithching profiles of lighting in Synapse it might return back but would be cycling standart rgb profile without changing it back! I am not sure if it's going to be fixed because it's a common issue for SMBus controled sticks of RAM.
i finally got it downloaded, & dont u hate it when it messes with other peripherals that's not even MSI?! i just lost 2hrs modifying my Corsair Keyboard & RGB RAM lights...when MSI ML finish downloading it made all Corsair lights red Softwares are so weird its like they really have access to all your hardware, but they just want u to download their stuff Edit: oooof, to add insult to injury it has no effect of my MSI GPU RGB lights & MSI CPU RGB liquid cooler. To the observer all My MSI ML did was not change any MSI peripherals, but instead invade my Corsiar peripherals. i restarted my pc twice...just at the 1st sec the Corsair RGB custom lights show up, then, back to MSI's desired All-red my vote from the title will be: Garbage, because it's literally going into the Recycle bin...wish i had a Garbage bin
I've used both Aura Sync and Mystic Light and good lord Mystic Light is very depressing compared to Aura Sync. Almost makes me want to just turn off the RGB on my board completely.
bought a Deepcool LS520 and i've downloaded, uninstalled, and redownloaded both MSI Dragon Center and MSI Center and mystic light on both and it won't detect my water cooler, tells me to update bios (I have) and no matter what I do I can't configure the RGB on my hardware. love seeing that everyone on reddit has the same issues and no one has a fix. shit company apparently.
Of a scale from 1-6 I give the MSI a barely 2. It IS garbage in 2022 with the latest updates of my Nov. "edition" on a "PRO" ("pro my @ss) Z-690-P mobo. Why: 1. It resets itself at random after a shutdown and boot. 2. It's NOT a ARGB as previous mentioned but a purely app controlled RGB whim. 3. The three "profiles is a joke since at random when you switch back and forth between them the "profile" will reset and you need enter tha values.... AGAIN for the umphtheent time and no real "save profile" option. 4. It randoms fails to detect RAM without you have changed a single bit on the pc. 5. Basically needs to be started together with Windows and no option leave certain components alone like RAM or or list the ones on the same channel but defaults them. Nuff to go bonkers! My advice: Ditch the onboard system and get a dedicated box sort the ARGB.
My last 3 builds since getting back into PC gaming were all ASUS boards. Just built one using MSI.. wow, I did not realize how spoiled I was with ASUS.

I tried using other profiles for different lighting and it does not even work, I used mixer on the first profile and no matter what effect I pick on the second profile it just always use the mixer effect from the first profile after showing the intended effect for a bit then switching back even though the mixer is not even picked.
waiting for an armoury create/aura sync video, you are doing a grat job!
Always full of surprises.
why do my mystic light in MSI center does not have all the modes shown in the video?
do the selected effects only load once in windows? or right from boot?
I apologize, I already saw the video of why it works like that. What good videos.
when i power on the pc the led strip bliks red until i login in windows and mystic light loads, but the corsair rams saves the rainbow effect.
Im using this mystic light too. currently set on "CPU TEMP"..... from color green when the cpu is in cool state.....then blue when its getting hot.... and red! when the cpu is too hot. anyway, it doesnt reach red yet ))) , its nice to see when its changes color slowly ,
I need help! I registered my resently purchased MSI leopard gp66 rtx 3080 laptop I downloaded the Steelseries app but I can't figure out how can I change keyboard light to other modes..Can you please assist me with that?? Thank you in advance
Hey so my motherboard is msi, I've never downloaded this software, when I got my pc I had a little remote to turn my lights off and on, I unplugged my pc when moving my set up around, when I plugged it all back in and my lights stopped working, they just wasn't turning back on when using the remote, will this software turn it back on ?
Idunno man, using mystic lights bricked nearly all of my rgb.
Is there any option gpu temperatue in graphics card section ? setting rgb by gpu temp?
Help, I have a B560M mobo, ive tried everything but only the ram gets detected and the mobo wont change colors its driving me nuts
Bro me too😭😭
Did u figure it out???
@@King_EDITZ05 mailed customer service, they sent the correct program via download link
Is the msi 4060 X gamer compatible with this casue i do not know as it doesn't really say
I tried to use the app for iPhone but was impossible to connect. Did you tested it?
The biggest issue for me I found was that I have to turn off overwriting third party settings in mystic light settings to be able to control my Corsair RGB RAM sticks. But this only works if you have also the Corsair ICue installed and have them both ( Mystic Light and ICue) set to start with system start up.
A month has passed and it’s the same thing, plus if you close ICue the rgb effect on the ram dims stop. Very useless
I'm struggling to get all my devices to sync. Even though they're all recognised and showing up. I select sync all devices. Apply. Nothing. They just carry on doing their own thing.
@@paullasky6865 MY PROBLEM EXCACTLY I CLICK APPLY NOTHING APPEARS MY mouse lights turn off but my pc lights are just the default ones do i have to restart it???

I have an MSI motherboard and an Asrock GPU. What software do I use to change the RGB on my GPU?
Hi, great review. I didn't even know that there was a new software, i was still using dragon center. I wanted to know how did you make to have the stack effect goes from the rear fan to the bottom front? i can't do it they all have the stack effect at the same time
I'm wondering the same thing. Did you ever figure it out?
@@lightspeedlegato same here T..T
Mystic light doesn’t pick up my corsair ram sticks! It does show my gpu and fans. But it doesn’t give me the option for my ram sticks? Any suggestions?
I accidently disconnected my Mystic Light in the Bluetooth Settings, is there a way I can reconnect it??
Should I accept the msi center because ive heard lots of people say not to but Ive never really heard a reason why not to
Outstanding video, mate!
I searched the entire internet
where the (...) can I find an addressable RGB header where I can "que" the RGB's instead of all showing exactly the same thing? (as shown in the Video)
Can you add more than just 3 profiles?
My MSI center is not showing mystic light for download. Please help
I have a problem. In my MSI Center is no Mystic Lights install option. Can somebody please help me out?
i got compatible component but it doesn't detect them anyone know how i can fix it? i got a I512600kf; and msi Z690 tomahawk
what about "the motherboard's led fw is abnormal" error ? u didnt cover that and it seems so many people like me still have this problem to strugle
Pro z690-A, gigabyte aorus gpu 3080, and lian li sl infinity 120x3, lian li galahad sl120 360, and lancool 3 140x3 rgb. It does not play well at all. It refused to do anything independently. They all flashed together other than the invite 3 fans. Now it's stuck on blue.
This might be a stupid question, but would an MSI Motherboard be compatible with ASUS Fans? Or do I need to buy an ASUS Motherboard to get Aura Sync?
Dear friend, why my mystic light not see deepcool coolers?
GIVE US BACK ALL OUR SCHEMES WE SO LOVED!
my dram restarts with rainbow effect always , whats wrong?
The massive issue I have is that the response time is utter garbage when using for example, a music setting. It's SO off sync it's wild.
Downloaded it last night and it won’t change the color of anything. It’s stuck on unicorn vomit.
Anyone got a fix?
can i make it shift between three colours?
why my main doesnt sync with the case although all parts is MSI
my mobo LED is set on MB Gaming LED and i have barely any options
amazing video. thank you very much
I have an MSI B350M Gaming Pro from an old build that didn't have anything RGB inside it and repurposed the motherboard for a newer build that has ThermalRIght RGB fans. I cannot figure out for the life of me how to change the color of my fans so I'm hoping this software gives me that ability as the fans are stuck on static red and that has to be my least favorite RGB color.
why does ur ram memory stick dont change colour?
Idk. When I first turn on my fans it has a certain color scheme that SHOULD just be rainbow. MSI does NOT have the same color scheme available and it is driving me crazy trying to find it
Does it work only on msi mobos?
As someone who has multiple MSI products, their software is awful and very slow. I personally don't like the way a lot of their colours look in comparison to other software, not as bright and colors always look washed out with certain settings.
Weirdly my front Fans won’t link with Mystic Lights
Can I use this with my gigabyte motherboard
My syncing is again not working. It was fine for months then boom. Can’t sync with other software
i cant control the fans arbg color idk why
@techlens Mystic Light doesn't even work at all anymore on the new MSI Center on Windows 11
I don't have any of these features on my center. I used to and my mouse doesn't even detect.
Those rainbow lights look horrendous 😂😂
Yeah using Mystic Light to setup, then uninstalling works for "awhile", then the affects will wear off after some time.
Hm, interesting, my jrainbow detects my devices as one fan, so i can do like 72 cycles, it just blackouts. Anyone know why my motherboard is detecting 3 ARGB fans as one? motherboard is msi x570-a pro
i don’t get it. it doesn’t do any thing for mine. and it came with my Pc. but it’s not changing any of the lights at all.
My MSI RGB worked when I first started using the computer, now it randomly stopped working. There is no clear fix for this issue and its so frustrating. MSI this is unacceptable.
Does it hurt performance
this is actually pissing me off my casing led so dam bright and this thing doesnt work
Cant it just be like 2 colors. This flashy rainbow shit is overkill
Uh I have Msi pc fans but the software isn’t there for me
One thing which has disappeared is the ability to change RAM light speed. There used to be a slider but not its gone.
Do I need a msi motherboard
I wish my MSI B450 had JRAINBOW. All I have is RGB Headers. Not very fancy, a fraction of the options you highlight.
Trust me, even with JRAINBOW, MSI is rubbish compared to Asus aurasync.
WOW thanks
I'm just here so I can disable RGB.
Great vid. Everything I needed to know.
i finally got it downloaded, & dont u hate it when it messes with other peripherals that's not even MSI?!
i just lost 2hrs modifying my Corsair Keyboard & RGB RAM lights...when MSI ML finish downloading it made all Corsair lights red
Softwares are so weird its like they really have access to all your hardware, but they just want u to download their stuff
Edit: oooof, to add insult to injury it has no effect of my MSI GPU RGB lights & MSI CPU RGB liquid cooler. To the observer all My MSI ML did was not change any MSI peripherals, but instead invade my Corsiar peripherals. i restarted my pc twice...just at the 1st sec the Corsair RGB custom lights show up, then, back to MSI's desired All-red
my vote from the title will be: Garbage, because it's literally going into the Recycle bin...wish i had a Garbage bin
i give up trying to get mystic light, like i cant even download it. msi control centre on my aourus laptop is garbage.
I've used both Aura Sync and Mystic Light and good lord Mystic Light is very depressing compared to Aura Sync. Almost makes me want to just turn off the RGB on my board completely.
bought a Deepcool LS520 and i've downloaded, uninstalled, and redownloaded both MSI Dragon Center and MSI Center and mystic light on both and it won't detect my water cooler, tells me to update bios (I have) and no matter what I do I can't configure the RGB on my hardware. love seeing that everyone on reddit has the same issues and no one has a fix. shit company apparently.
thing I do not understand is that I bought mine from MSI, so everything is MSI. Yet, the only RGB device shown is the mother board.
mystic light is shit if anyone call that good didnt used synapse or corsair yet
Of a scale from 1-6 I give the MSI a barely 2. It IS garbage in 2022 with the latest updates of my Nov. "edition" on a "PRO" ("pro my @ss) Z-690-P mobo.
Why:
Just built one using MSI.. wow, I did not realize how spoiled I was with ASUS.
i got an corsair rgb keyboard one time.. it lasted 3 days before icue sent me into a keyboard smashing rage.. $150 into the bin
