In the Game Boy Color version, she's a redhead who only explains what the golf terms are in the dictionary menu. In Smash Bros Melee, she is found on a trophy and in Brawl, she's a sticker.

How TCNick was able to adapt to the lag to get a perfect shot a few times is genuinely incredible! So you can't use a 1W etc. inside the rough or bunker unless you're really accurate. Plus you may have picked up while playing but maximising your power and accuracy on a power shot will not use one of your six power shots up. Keep improving guys - looking forward to seeing more!

This game actually has a crazy amount of characters for a basic golf game. Unlockable characters include DK, Bowser, Metal Mario, as well as 5 other regular human OCs, AND they all have 4 skins so all 4 players can still be the same character. 72 options!!
I was 5 when Mario Golf was new and I played it for the first time. It was *hard.* Seriously hard. I played a lot of Mini Golf (a side mode) when I was a kid. It took me a few years to gain the confidence to play the true golf game. And there's a huge learning curve to it. Plenty of info onscreen, as well as rudimentary knowledge of physics, ball spin, and a lot of mental math, precision, and coordination that goes into getting really, really good. Everyone suffers as a beginner, but when you really put the time in, it's one of the most satisfying games to master. This game, and its Gamecube sequel (Toadstool Tour) actually got me to take a golf class at my university the summer following my freshman year of college. That was nearly a decade ago at this point; I need to find myself a cheap pitch & putt course and actually play a game and put balls in holes. Thanks for the reminder to get out there and do it, I guess.

There's a cheat code to unlock everything except Mario's Star. On the title screen you have to do this. D-pad down 2x, left 3x, right 3x. Right stick down 2x, left 3x, right 3x. If you hear a jiggle, that mean you did it right and unlocked almost everything.

The delay on this game is pretty prominent and it makes it pretty hard to make some good shots from time to time.
