When people who worked together on a TV show more than 30 years ago still stay in touch, this really tells you something.
The show is like I think 4 episodes in and when I tell you it is good!!! It’s really good
These actors define the fact that family is not by blood alone...
@@ms.t3039 We are enjoying Picard very much.
It really was unique to TNG cast. LIke Jonathan Frakes said, "We have a text chat".
I grew up with the show.
Has Michael Dorn gotten more handsome at 70 years old or is my mind playing tricks on me??
Michael looks ageless
I've noticed too
He's still hot!
Dang 70 likes I can't ruin that, so I'll comment. Excellent comment, the man is a legend and ages like fine wine.
He has grown more handsome.
I still watch reruns. This show is eternal.
yea me too, well select eps. the same for ds9 and voyager. Not really enterprise. and sadly def not picard. just hope the final picard series is better than the first 2.
@@PC-vg8vn : mmm...The 2 seasons are harshly cruel and bad. I just keep watching the TNG Blu rays , shows eternal, never looks a day old
I still have the collection on VHS
Me too
I concur. Let us also give thanks to Rick Berman, for staying true to Rodenberry's vision, after the Great Bird of The Galaxy left us.
I didn't have the best parents growing up. Picard taught me the value of intelect and not second guess myself. He also taught me it is okay to make mistakes, Worf taught me the meaning of winning the battle within myself and how hard it is and why it is important to engage in that battle. Data taught me to see myself and everyone around me from an outside perspective. That show made me a better person.
I feel the same way. Star trek taught me how to be in the world. There was a moral to every story they told.
Superb🌹
That's cool to hear! TNG definitely had deeper meaning than most shows, I watch the entire series about every 2 years.
Intellect.
Troi made me appreciate the importance of persistence and reliabilty in interpersonal relationships, Pulaski showed me how to stand up for the truth, Crusher teached me appreciation for research and science, Yar made me realise that you don't have to be mean to be though, from Guinan I learned that it is sometimes wiser to say little and listen more and all the women characters on that ship showed me that gender doesn't matter when it comes to courage, intelligence, professionalism, leadership and that is totally ok for a boy to have female role models.
As a child I thought people who passed away went to Star Trek.
I watched everyday looking for my grandfather. 😢
awe I'm sorry 😥
I know that grief my grandparents were and still are my whole world. If it’s any consolation that’s beautiful idea that our loved ones get to travel the stars and go on adventures after their lives here 😢💕🖖🏿
If I was an adult then I would have told you he's there. He's doing one of those off camera jobs.
@@clarisahernandez5280 ❤️❤️❤️
Awwwww. :( *BEARHUGS*
Next generation was and is one of the best shows ever made.
It was good show.
too bad Picard isnt.
@@purefoldnz3070 Season two was awesome and season three is off to a fantastic start. Not sure what you're smoking.
@@vgnvideogameninja2930 Beverley Crusher running around like Rambo is off to a fantastic start? lmao not sure if you've seen Star Trek before.

This show saved me from suicide so many times. Thanks TNG!!!
Glad you're still with us 💜

Many times? That sounds pretty serious. I hope you got help otherwise.
@@painkiller1968 I've gotten much better over the years recently.
@@MaybeAnnatar Thx.
Whoopi was ethereal and luminous on Star Trek.
Guinan lives in many dreams
Her character always had this soothing presence about her. And her voice was magic
Along with Neelix the most annoying character.
@@cheecherchonger kind of hard to get past your misogyny
That vocab doe!!!! 👀
One of the most touching scenes at least in my opinion in the history of Star Trek was Guinan talking to Worf's adopted/human parents and telling them how everyone comes and stares out those windows looking for home. She then told them when Worf would stare out those windows looking for home, he wasn't looking towards the Klingon Empire or his people, he was looking towards Earth and the two of them as home.
She made sure they knew just how much Worf truly loved them, even if his tough exterior wouldn't allow him to say it himself.
I still tear up when I watch that scene from the fourth season TNG episode "Family". And the actors who portrayed Worf's adoptive human parents, Theodore Bickel and Georgianna Brown, were just awesome. DS9 is my favorite Trek series, but TNG and the Original Series have a special place in my heart. Been a fan since 1966.
Michael did 11 seasons between TNG and DS9, Picard will make 12 and 5 movies, including Undiscovered Country. He definitely deserves respect for going through that makeup process.
All while Colm Meaney in the next seat was whining and complaining about his few minutes doing makeup LOL
Considering how most Chief O'Brien episodes were about the universe messing with him, I'd complain too.
Picard is not trek though.
@@purefoldnz3070 Disagree. I think the first two seasons were very good. But whatever...to each his own.
@@doublestrokeroll no offense but that's hilarious.
Guinan was one of my favorite recurring characters in any series. What makes the character so great is that Guinan was mysterious and unknown, and the writers were able to both add more hints on how her character is more than she seems, and the more you learned about her character the less you knew.
Guinan really came into focus when she and Picard discussed the Borg for the first time. And to have that pivotal scene delivered by two such fine actors was an especially poignant moment for any fans of great storytelling through the use of television.
I felt the same way as Whoopi did about Star Trek:TOS,I was a little, black kid watching the show in reruns in Philly.I saw an asian man who was a bridge officer ( and not played by a white actor with slanted eyes )then a black, female bridge officer ( she wasn't a maid or prostitute )also had a Russian officer and a Vulcan, all these people working together for a common cause. No racism,sexism,etc,etc,..and as a kid I wanted to join StarFleet and serve aboard a Starship.
I really became intrigued with her when Q seemed like he was afraid of her.
I always felt TNG became better after Riker got his beard and the addition of Whoopi just sealed it for fans of TOS. I still like to watch my reruns starting ARB ( After Rikers Beard) lol 😂
@@johnross8614 I am 100% in agreement with your opinion.
I met Michael Dorn at San Diego Comic-Con about 12 years ago. He really is this nice in person.
In that elevator story, I wish he would have said "Today is a good day to die" in his Worf voice. That'd be hilarious.
@csong9940 Michael Dorn is so handsome. Even as a Klingon, he was handsome!
FYI that humorous prune juice scene up front was the cold open to one of the top TNG episodes- Yesterday’s Enterprise. Guinean’s instinct that something was wrong was pivotal. The end with Guinan asking ‘tell me About Tasha Yar’ was so bittersweet
Oh God right! I cannot forget when she tells Yar that "she is supposed to be dead". That I think was the first episode to make my parents really take hella notice of the show. If there was not a sports game on.......STNG was on. Still a masterpiece episode that one.
@@bahamutskingdom thanks- if you google Best Star Trek TNG lists, if you get about 4-7 different lists one or 2 would have the finale, I do not agree. The rest of them have Yesterday’s Enterprise switching with The Best Of Both Worlds. The measure of a man (S2) in which Maddox wants to disassemble Data and make endless Data’s and Picard discusses Slavery with Guinan, blah blah blah😎and The offspring, in which data makes his daughter Lal but she dies. The second 2 are always top 5 or a bit higher. Back to yesterday’s enterprise Guinan tells Tasha she heard her death was random and meaningless so she decided to go back to the other enterprise because she ‘wants her death to having meaning… etc etc ☮️🖖🔥
There is a fun little outtake that ended up on screen.
At the end when she's talking to Geordi, asking about Tasha Yar, look at what Geordi is wearing. He is still in the alternate timeline uniform. Whoops :P
@@k1productions87 wow - I didn’t notice that but I kept that one on my DVR, so I’ll try to watch it tomorrow. Good catch🖖
@@batgurrl Hey, the episode is worth watching again and again on its own merits anyway :D
I just wish the Enterprise-C could have had a bit more iconic of a bridge set. I know it was only intended as a one-off (and was basically a redress of the Hathaway bridge from "Peak Performance") but... its an Enterprise, it deserved more.
Granted, changing the Enterprise-D's bridge likely ate up much of the production time too. I believe it even cut into the shooting schedule of several other episodes because of the time spent redressing it, and then returning it to its previous state.
I'm a die-hard Star Trek fan from the original series through every incarnation of the show, and Patrick Stewart was the best captain of the Enterprise by far. Whoopi was the jewel of that series. L-O-V-E this!!!
Me too! Read mine below.
Bill Shatner is the best Captain of the fleet as Kirk.
@@kylegreen3247 I may have to grant you that, since Picard was never officially called Fleet Captain, even when he commanded a fleet during the Klingon Civil War.
I'm rather partial to Captain Sisko but Picard was cool too! DS9, Discovery and TNG and Strange New Worlds are my favorite shows.
There is no "e" in her name. This is not difficult.
This brings tears to my eyes🥰😭😭😭
Grow up
The late legendary and iconic performer Nichelle Nichols who played Lieutenant Uhura in the original Star Trek series had the honor of meeting Dr. Martin Luther King during the height of the Civil Rights Movement and told him she was considering leaving Star Trek for some other projects on stage and perhaps join the movement. He vehemently said absolutely not and that Star Trek was THE ONLY TV PROGRAM he would let his children watch and that it was precisely BECAUSE OF NICHELLE and her embodiment of Black excellence. He also told her that she was such an incredible role model for minorities everywhere and part of the reason for the Civil Rights movement in the first place. Absolutely flabbergasted and honored by Dr. King's words, Nichelle felt reinvigorated to continue with her role on the show and went on to inspire many generations of young minds like Whoopi throughout the years to achieve excellence themselves.
When former President Obama had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Nichols at the White House several years later, he secretly admitted to her that as a young school boy he had experienced a serious crush on the absolutely gorgeous Lieutenant Uhura and the two laughed about it...honestly though who didn't?
I also had a crush on Nichelle Nichols, may she rest in peace..

You had great taste just like President Obama!
I had the pleasure of meeting Nichelle Nichols at Star Trek Las Vegas Convention in 2017. She signed the picture of her and President Obama in the Oval Office.

I remember when I was a teen I met Mr. Dorn at a vintage air show and he was utterly surprised I recognized him. Great guy, a seriously good pilot and the Korean era jets he's owned are beautiful.
This was my crew!! I grew up on that ship…profound show the subject matters… forever a fan and student
Always extremely funny and insightful when the cast TNG get together. Also would be so much more epic if Levar, Brent and Martina where there too.
Marina...
And Wesley
@@biggityboggityboo8775 TY! I couldn't quite figure out who was "Martina." (Marina Sirtis)
It is so crazy that when Johnathon and Michael speak.....all I hear is Xanatos and Coldstone from Gargoyles lmfao.
This is one of the greatest shows of my childhood/teen times. And it is great to see them together again. I wish Whoopi was in season 3 with them......But she was there with Sir Patrick Stewart last season.
When Michael talks I hear Weasel and Kalibak (From Superman)
yes except Picard isnt trek.
Seeing Sir Patrick invite her back to the role was the reason I wanted to watch the show:)💚
My favorite segment in a long time. Everyone looks great despite being older. I can’t watch Picard but as a Star Trek geek, I watch TNG every day. Guinan was such an important recurring character. Her wisdom was always deep. Worf was my favorite character. ‘I’m NOT a Merry Man’🖖
You need to watch Picard season 3. Reviews are glowing. I'll be watching the first episode tomorrow morning with my wife.
I watched in the 60s, and really laughed when Worf said that! next Gen saved the 80s!!!
I feel like it is incomplete without the beginning...Sir, I must protest. Michael sold that line so well.
Same here - I was so into TNG back in the day, and Worf is my favorite. But I don't have the budget for Paramount+ so no Picard for me. Some day, though!
@@warpshield Just saw Season 3 Ep.1.. It was great. . I'm a kid again in 1969! Lol.
Ain't it great when a cast of a TVs show just gels together and remains close friends and do not hesitate to reprise their roles years after their original run, without hearing of feuds and hating each other. Thank "God" that time has not passed any longer than this, that we still have the main crew still with us
Gene Rodenberry had a vision. I saw him in person so many years ago. I did not know he would be the one to run the convention when I went. I am gifted to have been there to see him. His writing and direction to these series can never be replaced.
Absolutely my favorite interview segment!!
The only person missing is me!!!!! 🤩 I truly feel like I'm a part of this group of amazing people!!
I did miss you.
We all were part of that group... they changed our view of the future!
I love all the Star Treks, they give me hope in humanity.
Somehow, I feel like crying...happy tears. This was my childhood and seeing that the cast is and was so close just warms my heart. That's why the chemistry on the show was so genuine. This will forever be one of my top three favorite shows of all time! In fact, I think it might be number one!! ❤️
The Guinan and Worf scene with the Warrior’s Drink (prune juice) is a classic.
It took me a while to warm up to the Guinan character when she was first introduced, but I came around. Thanks Whoopi.
Star Trek TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise. I love them all.
Yes!!!
Enterprise was pretty bad. The politics were neo-con instead of Roddenberry's liberal vision. Blame Rick Berman for that as well as for not having any LGBTQ+ characters.
I also enjoy Discovery (mostly) & Picard, but Strange New Worlds is awesome!
@@jimapplebee5322 I don’t regret watching either Discovery or Picard but they both took some getting used to, especially Discovery. Though, I stopped watching TNG in seasons 1 or 2 when it aired because of so many bad or boring storylines so I hope these newer shows continue to find their footing. SNW has been great out the gate.
@@titusmccarthy Not arguing, its more a matter of curiosity on my part. What specifically about Enterprise was "neo-con"?
Would have been nice to see Levar,Marina, and Brent as well. But what a nice reunion. My thoughts on Whoopi joining NextGen, was surprise. I knew her work prior, and could not believe she would go onto tv…but what a performance she did as Guinan! After the initial shock of the NextGen cast and show, I grew to love the cast. I think to this day that could have done a NextGen spinoff, and it would work. As is, Picard has been a decent recovery of the Star Trek franchise. I hope they do the same with the other shows. DS9 and Voyager would benefit greatly with a follow up series to answer some questions and tie up loose ends.
Everytime they reunite I always get a lump in my throat and a bit teary eyed. Love these actors!
Michael Dorn is still so frickin handsome
One of the best segments on The View in a very, very longtime💫💥💫
It is so good to see this great cast together one more time. I am so grateful that Whoopie and the View was able to bring one of my favorite Star Trek crews on tv. I saw the first episode...it is good!
Wow, so much love and respect for these incredible actors who have always given so much time and loyalty to their fans.
This made me smile so hard! I love hearing how impactful the experience was for Whoopi. And how genuine and warm this whole cast is and has always been. Very cool. ❤
This was heart warming. Also, Dorn should be in Marvel.. he is handsome and tall.
Imagine that group on a road trip… FUN!
You can't do an interview with Sir Patrick Stewart without mentioning Her late Majesty The Queen at 6:50. A short but simple tribute to her, and May She Rest in Peace.
name another show where the actors still have such strong friendships over 30 years later.
I remember her in the 90s. Classic years.
It's amazing that on H&I TV they run literally 4 of the Star Trek series back to back as not to offend any Star Trek fans out there. That's how important the exploration of space is to everyone. To see the better side of the human race working together for peace is awesome.
I was 11 when TNG debuted. I still remember loving it straight away!
I have been a Star Trek fan forever and I have continued the love with my 3-boys and grandson! WE love the Lower Decks, Picard, Prodigy and all the new branches of Star Trek that continue to grow the tree! Love Whoopie and all the stars that continue to shine!! 💖💖⭐⭐⭐

Yes
I love TNG as a show and as a cast; the 3rd season of Picard, just one episode in, has been a huge treat for fans like me! Apropos of nothing: How is it that they're all so grounded, and in such incredible shape, after 36 years? Gates McFadden is still stunning, and the guys are killin' it. Give me some of that youth serum, guys.
I love Next Generation Star Trek. Actress Gates is one of my favorite Star Trek Actresses.
They all look great! Makes me so happy. I grew up with this crew. Watched every episode of TNG with my parents. Some of my favorite memories. Great actors. Great people and a great show!
The love they have is wonderful. Lovely interview!!!
Legendary, definitely one of the best star trek series. Between next generation and voyager.
I have the entire series of TNG on Blu Ray and I absolutely still love and watch it often.. It was a series that really drew you in with its excellent writing and casting.. and still remains to this day, one of my all time favorite TV shows.. :)
These are all heroes of mine as a teenager. So great to see them.
That made me smile!😂😂 I always loved Star Trek in all its guises!
I have been watching Star Trek since t&g came out and I've been in love with the entire show ever since.
I liked Guinan's ability to push back on the character of Q. Q was this omnipotent being that could have his way with any living being but he showed fear when Guinan was around. Good stuff. :)
I love the first episode. It’s so rare that I get hooked on the first episode of anything. I can’t wait to see more and bummed that season three is the last. Legendary cast. Amazing people on and off the screen.

Whoopi seems very partial to Michael. Love their friendship
I remember my mom watching the show when I was a kid in the 90s and it's great to see them back together for the final seaon.
Every single TNG cast member was 100% on point for Picard S3. Michael Dorn, especially, brought a incredibly mature and badass Worf that I always wanted to see. LaVar Burton and Brent Spiner was the dynamic duo I wanted to see reunited for over 20 years.
So GREAT to see Whoopi so happy and excited!!
We will love these guys and what they did for generations.
Love this. They need too do more of this type of Show.
Oh man, this made me smile from ear to ear. Thank you!
My mom and I used to watch the original show religiously
Oh my, they are still beautiful people, especially Michael Vorn - my favourite Klingon. How exciting to watch these stories, just got to find them..
Star Trek is the best. This was so special
I watched next gen as it aired as a kid. It was a bright shining beacon in a really messed up childhood. Guinan in particular was always so inspiring. Tng forever!
🤗 I am so glad I watched this. Big Smile.
This, right here. Is precisely why i love Star Trek so much.
I started watching TNG when I was about 4 years old (right about when it debuted). I have been a huge fan ever since.
They love Whoopie ! They were teamed up!❤
I loved Whoopi as Guinan so much ❤️
I wasn’t obsessed with Star Trek like a lot of people but I still loved it growin’ up🔥🔥
I might just go back and watch this from Season 1 again, especially if I can find it in Spanish. I would have like to have seen the character for Data if he's still alive.
The Borg episodes on this series and Star Trek Voyager were my absolute favorite.
star trek is only good in its original tounge just as shakespeare is only good in its original klingon
I know this will date me, but when I was in college, we all watched the original in the dorms. The good old days. TNG hadn't come out yet.
For those who saw “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” where Whoopi replaced Nathan Lane, you could immediately tell, that Whoopi was so much more generous than Nathan with meant that all actors shined and made it a better ensemble cast, love Nathan but it’s all about him in some cases and the musical blossomed more with Whoopi in the lead!
Gates pulling off the X-Men's Rogue white streaks in her hair. Love it.
And Dorn should have said to the guys on the elevator as he left, "Today IS a good day to die."
Loved this series and I still watch the reruns and I also love Picard
I loved this!!😊
I grew to love Whoopi even more after this. I always thought that Star Trek was just another paycheck for her. My bad, Whoopi.
Oh no she has always expressed her love for that role.
Star Trek TNG is my absolute favorite. The entire cast are amazing and the way they worked together and developed as a family is really what keeps me watching today. That series never gets old for me.
I was a kid when Picard that star trek was one.....amazing...... memories glad to see everyone
Whoopie was in only 28 episodes of TNG. I wish she were in more.
It was always special when she appeared.
Love Whoopi and the TNG cast!
I was born the same year she stepped behind the bar at ten forward. Fantastic to see them all still together.

I am so happy to see these people together again. Next Gen played such an important role in my formative years and I still cannot be;I’ve that I can watch any episode I want any time I want.
Michael Dorn looks great!!!
As a fan of Star Trek....and especially The Next Generation...this was wonderful! However, it seems to me, that years ago, serious fans started to be called "Trekkers" not " Trekkies"
I always called myself a Trekkie. Seems I remember "Trekker" coming along later...
