    Wish that they made the brackets stronger. Every year I am welding and bending them back straight. I have had to do this 4 times so far. Besides that it works decent. Also had to weld on plow where the largest pin goes. The welds on these plows is like a six year old did it.

      It does, having it behind does no good at all and if he keeps it like this, it will eventually rip thru the bold heads.

      @@johnquinn3899 Corner did an excellent job. Home Depot has me scheduled for delivery this week. (I figured getting it from HD it could be easily returned if it was a disaster) I will add details to the upgrades ASAP. Aside from the winch, a light bar and broadcast salt spreader are in the plan for a total solution.

    i JUST installed a Ohio Steel Snow Plow. It went beautifully. I even found how easy it is to remove the plow. The only question I have is how to best adjust the foot pedal so that I don't
    have to use both feet to lift the plow up? And how to get the 13 lbs of pressure to lift it. I know it is geometry with the angle vs distance and such.

    Just bought a Greenworks 80 volt 42 inch Zero Turn mower and thinking about getting this in the future but the blade is too wide to fit in the door opening for the shed where this is going to be stored, but I saw on Amazon they sell a 48 inch version which I can only fit this while the Zero Turn is in our shed (we do not have a garage), which has a 56 inch door opening, so the 60 inch is too wide, but I assume I could get the blade separate to install outside of the shed once the frame attachment is on (honestly would just go with the 48 inch one in the end). I believe the plates for the caster bars might fit onto the Greenworks but I don't have the mower yet, but its coming in the next week and a half. Do you know off hand the measurements of the mounting plates for the caster bars were to attach this on?

    I'm curious how this worked out after a couple seasons. Is the Ariens frame strong enough ? And is the frame behind the castor arms fill box tube or is is 'C' channel. I have the Oil Steel plow but unfortunately the front end has suspension and isn't strong enough to support the plow. Thanks for the great vid.

    • @funcorner328

  • @vincemorm

    The front pivot axle on zero turn mowers is held in place by one bolt and bushing in most cases. Why they designed this plow to mount on that axle is hard to fathom! After using it for a while it surely will loosen the fit of the bolt in the bushing and elongate the hole. It would be so much better to mount that plow to the rigid frame of the mower so the forces go to the rear drive wheels and not thru a single pivot point. Some machines have wear pads to keep the pivot bushing from side elongation but why put strain on those? I’ll be mounting any attachment to my frame.

    • @funcorner328
      @funcorner328  2 года назад

      I agree with you on that? And it's not like you get enough speed on these to damage the frame!

    Just rewatched your great video. I have an Ariens 48 in Apex and last season I contacted my dealer and the Ariens company about using this plow. Both sources told me NOT to install the plow saying it would damage the hydros and zer0 turns were not designed for this application. After using the plow on your Ariens, what are your thoughts/experience. Thanks

    • @funcorner328
      @funcorner328  2 года назад

      I've used it for one winter with moderate snow. Haven't noticed any issues with the zero turn last summer. This is just a temporary fix till I'm able to get a 4wheeler with a plow. (Maybe 2 more years)
