    My first purchase probably about 1 year ago (or so) was the 10%, the thread from out of the case was broke (cross threaded) so I could not attach this to my lens. I contacted Moment, they immediately gave a refund, purchased another and was perfect! since then, I purchased 20% as well as the new 5%. All have been fine. btw just subscribed ;)

    Those threads are very thin just like they are on most other filters, and are also made of metal- which means you should always apply a very thin coat of a light metal oil on the threads to prevent damages. If you’re putting any metal threaded filter on an expensive lens you should always be oiling the threads to prevent temperature damage to the threads as well since Metal shrinks/expands depending on whether its cold or hot outside. Apply some on a thin cloth and just slightly rubbing it on would prevent any threads from breaking or getting stuck. This is basic maintenance professional film gear requires and is always done in professional settings- although now newer filters are coming out as magnetic to do away with the threads. Nevertheless threads are gonna be here for a while and it should be often mentioned that they need to be oiled not only to protect your filters but also your lenses

    Hi have you also tried the Kenko black mist filters? They have two kinds of intensity the no.1 and also the popular no.5
    They are Japanese version of black mist filters, and also made in Japan, their quality is also great

    I have a vast collection of filters and stepping rings and never had any problems with any of them. It’s not for me to tell you how to correctly put on and take off a filter, but what you might want to do is every time you get a new filter, wipe the thread with a cotton bud dipped in graphite penetrating oil, and thereafter there should not be any problems.

    • @Coopersx1
      @Coopersx1 Год назад

      I wouldn't risk it. Would probably contaminate the filters glass. Sounds messy?

    • @williamcurwen7428
      @williamcurwen7428 Год назад +1

      @@Coopersx1 Not messy, just a few atoms worth of graphite coating the threads.

    I am planning to buy the Cinebloom 10 for my iPhone Moment Anamorphic Lens but it will be leaving it on almost permanently so I don’t think for me it will be an issue, but it is definitely something you should reach out to Moment about (assuming that’s who you bought it off).

      Hey mike! Thanks for watching man! Totally if your not constantly having to take it off I think it would be great for you. I reached out to moment and they won’t do anything about it since it’s out of their limited warranty

    • @VestigeOfFate
      @VestigeOfFate 2 года назад

      @@MicahPowell Ah, that’s completely unfair of them. They should replace it, especially as it does not work as required and it’s basic function is now null and void, rendering it literally useless without some kind of workaround. I’d imagine as a purchaser it has certainly put a dampener on your purchasing from them in the future and you’ve lost a bit of faith in them. Very disappointing. I hope you are able to manage with it somehow. Keep up the incredible work, and enjoy that coffee! 😁

    So your entire video is based on a faulty thread on a filter, I’ve had that happen with filters before. Moment has a really good return policy & I have in the past reached out to them regarding manufacturing issues with products that were way past their return policy date and they still replaced my product. You don’t say if you’ve contacted Moment. Have you given them a chance to replace it? The fact that you didn’t complain about that also tells me that you did not reach out to Moment. Nothing is perfect and nothing is going to last forever, even Bentleys brake down. Also, how do we know you haven’t been rough with it or dropped it or who knows. My interpretation of this video is, like many millennials do, they whine about something and run the social media for attention. I mean if you were really that upset about a comment made about your hat that tells me you’re extremely hyper sensitive to small issues.

      not quite understanding why the hostility, and sorry you didn't get what was clearly a joke about the hat, but thanks for watching Jennifer. back when i originally had this issue, i reached out to moment, and i believe it was due to it being out of warranty, i cant quite remember, but they would not replace it. but even so, i have other cheaper filters that I've put through worse and still to this day work. so the things i said in this video are still very valid. i think you should maybe ask about those things before you make assumptions about people :)
