I delivered Kenworth trucks to Winnipeg back in January of 2019. It was -57 degrees Fahrenheit with wind chill. I spent six hours outside undecking the trucks. I’ll never forget it. The moisture in my eyes would freeze and every time I blinked, I could feel the ice.

I drive a Kenworth T680 with an X15 500 HP Cummins. I bought it brand new in August 2018. The model is a 2019.
Now with 390,540 miles.
I wanted to buy a new 2022 and sell this one...... Even my sales agent said. TRUCKS ARE OVER PRICE RIGHT NOW.
I paid $142,500 now is $280,000 for a 2022 model.
It should be at no more then
$1650,000 an increase of about $5,300 per year that is normal.
For a $280,000 it is crazy !!! I will wait till there is enough trucks to keep a fair price..... ( I am a 30+ OTR Experience Driver, I know what I am talking about )
If you buy now you will lose money when time to resale it... hold down to your money 💰 🤑

All prices of new will stay up, but used prices will drop slightly. If you think the prices of anything new will drop, you are deluding yourself. Sorry thats the way it has always been.

We have not always have a virus going on, that's why everything is in short demand there for over price. Once they start over producing, prices will stabilize not to where they should be, but low enough to where makes sense to buy a new one. Just like shipments right now they are very high because there is NOT enough drivers, but when more rockies enter this industry the rates will go down again. Sorry but it has always been like this at least since 1989. When I started in the industry.
@@acapulco1231 I am retired now, have been purchasing heavy equipment and ventilation equipment for mines, and prices go up or stabilize, haven't yet gone down. There are no new countries to offshore to anymore.
I used to deliver equipment mostly new tractors and trailers from dealerships, KW's, Pete's, Mack's,
It was a lot of fun as I got to drive the newest innovations, like smart steering wheels, (Vorad) safety radar, the first Cummins ISX 600hp with super powered Compression Brakes (Jake), the first Super 10 transmission, and even every once in a while, and old 5 & 4 twin stick, 😃

i just got my 5th next gen (3 sleepers 2 day cabs), my drivers love them. we did mid roof instead of the full roof (drivers prefer them). also have 2 of the brand new 579's as daycabs

I am running one now and it’s a single bunk. And we got this lux leather diamond floor for entire floor really sets it off. My pete 379 is getting new engine I’m leaning towards ordering one of these. Business is business and 5mpg is not good business. Maybe I will fix up a old 359 day cab for local fun work sometime.

Really like this Truck but the one thing I would add is I would like Dual exhaust and inside the Truck I would charge it to just a single bunk instead of the double bunk but I would like have this Truck otherwise
So how hard would it be to spec Me out that same unit but add dual exhaust and the single bunk but everything else the same because I would be interested in it

What’s the mattress size? I’m going from a 579 Pete to a next Gen T680. I had bought a Drift mattress for it that measures 42x80 and I’m hoping it fits so I don’t have to buy another one

Doing the CDL thing as we spe ahh type. Probably going to have to put some time into a mega carrier as most of the nation wide jobs I want need 6 months to 2 years experience. Although I am in my late 40s. Might mean insurance could be lower.
