Hiya Darren, I'm not into any formal relegious following. Was baptised CofE over 60 years ago. But when you see the Temples , Cathedrals, and even small local churches and other places of worship don't you ever feel like " must be something in it " You can just stand back and marvel at the beautiful, relaxing, tranquil air of peace. My mate worked in international finance, relocated from the City to Shanghai. He didn't enjoy it & by chance a position came up in Bangkok, he's never looked back. 18 years later, he's fully relocated, married & has two beautiful Eurasian kids. He returns to the City every year with the job but said he'd never return to live. Now he's living!

Just stunning, Darren ! I think, you're the first food reviewer to take us into the gilded temples of Siam ! I love those little pathways. Reminded me of Ceylon (Sri Lanka) when I was a kid. A lane, a path, a roof, a doorway, can take me back to my childhood. Thanks, Darren. This video is a wonderful gift. Hi Darren,if you get the opportunity check out the Grand Palace in Bangkok.When you're back home and feeling you wish you were back in Thailand take a trip to Wimbledon were there is an authentic Thai temple and monastery,they have many open days were local Thais prepare and serve food.

Awesome DJ, the Temples are amazing there is even a Temple in the province of Sisaket that is a full size working Temple made out of one and a half million chang, singha and leo beer bottles. I do hope one time you might go to Myanmar in Yangon there is the Shwedegon Pagoda its a sight to behold especially at sunset. It is enormous, cheers, nice vlog.

The big temples do have ladies living on them they clean and cook for the monks they will get up at about 3am to start cooking. The monks can not eat after midday. The small temples the monks walk around early morning about 7 in the local area and the people make them food . Giving food to the monks is could tanbon
Tbh I wasn’t ,, people just don’t do the research before going over ,, before I first went over 17 years ago I got all me vaccinations done and in the 6 months wait for them to activate properly I researched a load of cultural differences and no no’s It’s cringeworthy sometimes at the airport when a foreigner lands runs to his girl he’s met on the net and throws his arms round her kisses her and then holds her hand as they walk off with her parents in tow,, the poor girl wishing the floor would open underneath her .

if you get the chance go to Phuket (Phrompet cape) i think thats how you spell it its south Thailand sunsets are unreal and the food
