This is unbelievable. I was really excited to see a dorama in a similar style where 1920-30's China. You know, the whole gothic, vampire, detective, dark China thing is like a fresh breath of air amongst the other already stale doramas. The actors are unparalleled, the atmosphere is great, the plot is good too. I want to thank the people who made this dorama, because it is wonderful. I wish more people would make something like this!
I kept seeing many comments criticizing Vengo's age. Please don't give him any labels and focus on his acting. I think this drama so far have been a great story. I cannot wait for the next episode.

Personally, im not a fan of huge age gaps and in this drama he looks like he is in 40s while FL in early 20s. He easily looks like her dad. But I would never publicly criticize or defame any actor for my opinion. On the other side, I truly understand and respect your sentiment, but the same people who are defending his age are first ones to criticize if a female lead is even a bit older in age. Now this is extremely hypocritical.
This is an excellent, fast paced, short drama series with not a boring moment! The whole cast did a fantastic job portraying their character. I think a special mention goes to Ouyang Nana because she really brought out the character of Mi Lan and her development as the drama unfolds.
This drama deserve 10 out of 10. Vengo gao Ouyang Nana they just acted amazingly. This now one of my favorite drama. I m deeply obsessed with this drama can't come out from this drama. ❤

Yes!!! Finally!! Been waiting for this for so long. So glad I can see it now on youtube. It's difficult to see Chinese drama in The Netherlands where I live so I'm really happy 😄 I'm a big fan of Vengo Gao ever since I saw Eternal love of dream. He is an amazing actor and now I can enjoy him playing a vampire. Perfect!
This is an intriguing drama. I don't usually like Republican period dramas because of all the politics. But this drama is a breath of fresh air in this dry spell of Chinese drama. A good story well told and with very good acting by all of the principal cast. Not a lot of action scenes and and what romance there is, is very restrained. The characters are well developed, including the main villain.
I love them both..... specifically Nana . I love her. ❤ And for those who are criticizing Virgo Gao for being old. Bruh he's one of the professional actors and age doesn't matter in acting. If an old man nailed acting a young character that's what his professionalism is. 😅

I'm a writer so I can't help but notice that FL is having not only super hearing but also super smell. I think when she fell (😅and she fell on ML so cutely 😅 ) she smelled the dude's gunpowder and when she met mr Yi she felt traces of gunpowder from when he and his subordinate talked 😂...so she gathered she shouldn't arouse suspicion 😅 if she didn't wanna go home 😅😅😅 The FL is very smart 😅 ! She has vampire nose! Also probably is an embodiment of one of the stones... because you get indeed higher quality of other senses when you lose one but nooot like that! ❤❤❤ she's totes adorbs ❤❤❤!
She also recognizes the ML and calls him Mr. Shen as she leaves to go find a phone even though he didn’t introduce himself. Only way she know it’s him is through her super hearing at the mansion during the party.

Americans don't have a problem with casting older people as a vampire 🦇, but I guess Chinese people want to be 16 in the face forever. I love the series, as well as the opening credits montage and title credits music. It sets the mood so well...and makes me wonder if the black & white was a deliberate choice or the original intention was for everything to be red.

I remember actor Wang Guan @ 19:05 who starred in the costume drama Goodbye, My Princess as General Pia Zhao, main male lead's ( Li Cheng Yin's) subordinate. His character was both serious and funny. He would not drink alcohol and when he finally did it was so funny to watch. You would have to re-watch/watch the series to understand his character, which was mostly in the 2nd half of the series. But I will always remember him.
Vengo is perfect for this role , I like the vibe of this drama so much with the aesthetic fit so much ,I like the idea that the FML is blind it's more interesting to get more diverse and trying new thing , I don't knew why Chinese fans abuse their actors like why most of them had the personality of 5 years old , no one get away from bullying zhao Lucy get bullied , Xiao zhan , yang mi , vengo and many good actors , leo get bullied by netizens for dying his hair white like WTF ???
People keep mentioning Gao Weiguang's age?? His age is perfect for this role!! For this role a man was required not a boy. We can't always have baby "CEOs", who are barely out of their diapers, to have the lead. By the way, that concept is too ridiculous. I hope the makers of series will stop that!! Besides Gao Weiguang is only 41. I am sure he still has many years of acting in him.

Actually, Vengo is not trying to play someone who’s much younger than his age. In the novel which this show is based on, Shen Zhiheng is around 35.
