This song was written as a gift for her about her niece Karine, who actually died at the age of 16. She died in Celine's arms while she sang to her. So this song is very personal to her! You should check it out in French too, It's even better!!! the title is "Vole".

No disrespect, Joni Mitchell is better. And she writes beautiful songs as well

@@davetothebeard no disrespect but you just don’t try to compare the voice of Joni Mitchell to Céline Dion even Joni would tell you that as far as song writing I’ll give you that an exceptional song writer 😉

Barbra Streisand will never be equaled/is supreme. Even Ms. Dion acknowledged that and idolizes her.

Can't say I'm a huge Celine Dion fan, but it's not because she doesn't have skills. Obviously, she does. It's her niche, genre or style, whatever you wanna call it, I'm just not into. Her stuff is very theatrical, and if she ever decided to do Broadway (she probably already has) she would kill it! To me, she's similar to Barbara Streisand, Madonna, Bette Midler, Mariah Carey, people like that. I think I just saw on Patreon, your going to review a Mariah Carey song. Out of all those ladies, I prefer Mariah Carey, for some reason. I know it's not a competition, (or is it?) but was wondering does anyone agree with me on that?

Why and how would she have done broadway? 😂 Of course she could do it vocally, but exactly what famous French Canadian character could she pull off on broadway?

I know it was written and sung for a very sad reason, and please don´t get me wrong, a sad song will always effect feelings in your soul, but this does zilch for me, not a dry eye in the house, the audience loved it, except for one gnarled up old cynic....Peace.

I know this is not your type of músical venue.... "Touching ballads" overly dramatic ..... She has an absolutely phenomenal voice but over produced in such a Vagas kind of way.

Please find the meaning of the song before to comment. It’s a little shocking to see you laughing on this song ! Take the version recorded with Oprah to understand. The emotion of Celine is real, it’s not like in a movie, it’s the real hard life , with the death of a young sixteen girl .... As a radio host, I never done this error on air, even if I didn’t like the singer...

@@SightAfterDarkof course, we can’t know all about all the singers, the reactions videos are quickly in the box. It’s just about this song. I subscribe to ypur chanel, sure that you are interesting with other songs (less dramatic😊). Sorry too because I’m french and Celine and JJ Goldman who wrote that song are like gods in France...
