Near where I grew up in Birmingham, AL, there is an old Catholic church and currently the priest there is a Vietnamese man who became a priest in Vietnam and was transferred to the US by the Catholic leaders when the old priest passed away. I got to meet him when the company I worked for was installing some new speakers to replace the old ones from like 1970. He has such a fascinating story of how he ended up moving to the US and is one of the nicest people I've ever met.

In many places the plastic waste is not generated onshore but comes in from the sea on waves. The beach Paul visited was very windy, with strong waves.

As a Filipino coffee-lover, I think visiting Vietnam is now on my bucket list. Their cuisine is highly underrated and in my honest opinion, probably one of the best (if not THE best) in Southeast Asia (probably could make a case for Indonesian cuisine being better, but whatever.) Out of all the cuisines in SE Asia, which are almost entirely rice-and-noodle-based, they definitely have the best dishes centered around *bread.*

I first discovered Vietnamese food in Minnesota in the early 1980s, when a Vietnamese family - very newly arrived to the US - moved in across the street from us. I met them as they were moving in. There were three generations in the family and the kids were approximately my age, and spoke English well. They invited me for dinner not long afterwards and I had my first taste of Vietnamese food. I WAS IN HEAVEN. Good GRIEF, the flavors were so unlike what I was used to. Very soon, numerous Vietnamese restaurants opened around my area, and we are all the better for it! This was over 40 years ago and Vietnamese is still one of my favorite cuisines. I'm so lucky to live in an area with amazing Asian restaurants. If you are ever in the Twin Cities area, check out Eat Street in Minneapolis and Little Mekong in St. Paul (oh and we also have several good Korean restaurants around here too, Barbs!) 😄

I hope one day you will come to Hanoi, my hometown in the Northern Vietnam 🇻🇳
I'm not sure if the charm was intentional here, or if I just have a quirky sense of humor- But for some unexpected & unknown reason, the whole "magic water" bit from 14:29-14:36 made me laugh WAY more than it should have!

Watching this as I’m traveling in Vietnam right now
Hope it (somewhat) helps! But keep in mind this is only ONE part of Vietnam and much more the country has to offer
It's one of the FEW cuisines I will (reluctantly) compare as equals to Korean 😂
7:00 I remember when that complex sat "outside" of D2 by itself with nothing around it, look at it now!
Hands down, the worlds' best food, and I would die on this hill!
I love you videos! The one about my home country of Sweden was fun. Have you ever thought about making videos about micro nations within countries? Sweden has five
