To reach the largest lake Of swat, Shaitan Gwat (the devils corner), we started our trek from Mingora swat, sat in a Coaster and reached kalam early in the morning. There started trek towards Desan Meadows, in the route explored puli sar meadows, bresan meadows and syed sar meadows.. Camped in Desan Meadows and the next day started trek towards the 3rd largest lake of Swat, the Godar lake.. Rested for a while there and then started a tough and strenuous hike towards glaciers of Godar pass along the edges of Godar lake. The glaciers were vertical, slippery and full of hidden crevasses.. Somehow in 4-5 hours crossed those glaciers and when we reached its other side (kedam side) it was pelting heavily from the sky so we had to camp at an altitude of 14500 fts.. We spent the night there and the next day when we opened our eyes, we were amazed to see that it was snowing outside.. We waited for weather to clear up, and after a mini storm the showers stopped and we escaped from there towards the Shaitan Gwat lake.. In no time we reached there, this is certainly the largest lake in Swat, subdivided into 3 large portions. It was so huge that it took more than 2 hours for us to reach from its top to its lower end.. From there we descended towards sar Banda meadows and its lake.. Stayed there, a Shephard served us with pure food and tea and then headed towards kedam. In 6 hours of a brisk trek in a severe rainy and stormy weather we reached kedam Bahrain and from there by setting in one and then other vehicle reached Back to our place..
