I can't thank you enough for your videos. I am new to animations and Unreal but following your tutorials I have successfully retargeted Genesis 8 and Unreal Mannequin animations to Metahumans, without Unreal crashing on me (using 5.0 preview 2). I would never have done it without your help!

Hi! Well, I think I have also discovered an issue with retargeting and root motion. I retargeted my CC3 character so that it is compatible with an anmation in my MotionAnimPro Pack. I noticed that the animation didn´t have any root data anymore. I´m using the new distance matching modifier tools that come with UE5 and the distance curve on the retargeted animation is flat - no data, so no root motion. Any ideas?
I don't use CC3 characters so have no reference to draw upon. Is it possible for you to show your IKRigs and IKRetargeter in a video. I am more of a visual problem solver.
Have you tried setting the Retarget root to cc base pelvis ?
Edit: Also try:- Retarget root to pelvis, include cc base pelvis as the first bone in your spine chain.
@@Jobutsu No, I hadn´t. Thanks, but I have just tried it and the result is .. well .. interesting but not very healthy for the poor character ;-) .
