Although the Regi trio aren't the strongest legendaries, I must say that the game does a great job making it feel like an adventure catching them. Solving puzzles, deciphering inscriptions, finding ancient tombs--it's like the Pokemon version of Indiana Jones.
They're not the strongest legendaries for sure, but I'd be danged if I were to say that they didn't have some of the Godliest defense stats in the game. I've seen them come out into play and destroy some teams because of the opponent not being prepared for them.

You found ancient ruins, decrypted them, broke the seals on a ritual preventing certain doom in the world then used those very seals to permanently put a stop to that doom. You received no guidance. Now on top of that, notice how the background melody jumps around with high and low notes.... similar to how the dots are arranged for a braille message! IMO the perfect composition

Regigigas was a lame legendary though with it's Slow Start ability that halves its Attack and Speed for 5 Turns giving an opponent plenty of time to knock it out.
Yeah, but they got the Regi theme for it to play when you encountered Regigigas in BW2. Why not carry that tradition on in ORAS when you encounter it there too?
There's just something about the Regi encounter theme that makes it empowering. Maybe it's because of the feeling you await after going through all that Braille stuff, maybe it's because the Regis had a very annoying catch rate, or maybe its just the Regis themselves, but it's still an awesome legendary encounter theme that just got even better in ORAS. It's also great that they made Regigigas use this theme too. Catching Regigigas in D/P/Pl felt so wrong without the theme, but BW2 got it right. Is Regigigas in ORAS as well?
Hey the reason of their music and the sealed chamber being so epic yet empowering and scary lies in the pokemon lore. The people from snowpoint in Sinnoh were so scared of the 4 regis they locked Regigigas in Sinnoh and the other 3 Regis in another region. Hell, they don't wanted anyone to find them so much, they hide the keys in the deep sea, created another language and a puzzle that only works with 2 hoenn ancient pokemons. They did all of that because they were afraid of their power. Even the people of Hoenn didn't knew about them, only some NPCs that are descendants of the people in snowpoint.. So yeah you're not fighting your average legendary pokemon, and the music tells you so.
***** Another overcomplicated puzzle. Also, you need to head to Island Cave (where you caught Regice) during the day while doing all that. Nintendo expects too much of our puzzle solving skills.
It was a Professor Layton level puzzle. And besides, some Professor Layton puzzles were pretty easy. Like the one about fake swords with Luke in Diabolical Box.
So one day my family had some close friends over and one of their kids had the OR half of ORAS, so I spent time watching him try to catch Regice After chucking enough ultra balls he accidentally threw a Poké Ball Me: Oop, there goes a Poké Ball *ball shakes once* Him: Yeah it’s gonna just jump out though Me: Wait it shook once *ball shakes twice* Me: Oh my god if this actually catches it *ball shakes a third time and catches* There was a lot of excited screaming that day
I did that with Regileki but on purpose I ran out of ultra balls I was like “Might as well throw I pokeball” My reaction in my head : holy moly I caught frickin’ regieliki in a pokeball My reaction outside me awake at 8:00 am not wanting to rudely wake the hole world:😱😂
Oh lordy loo, this awakened my excruciating childhood memories of hard research regarding how to get to them, the hard process of doing it, and actually catching them with only pokeballs, yes pokeballs, not ultra, great or anything else
Theblastingkirby64 1. Catch all three Regis and have them in party. 2. Nickname your Regice (anything works). 3. Give it a Castelia Cone, Snowball, or NeverMeltIce. 4. Return to the Island Cave (where you caught Regice) and boom, Regigigas.
***** didnt you know? Other than Regirock & Registeel, Regice is like a brother to Regigigas and he is also a wanted criminal, so thats why you must nickname it and the Island Cave was direct on Regigigas' way, so ofc he took a rest there and waits for his friend to return :( better love story than twillight (the icy thing is a present for regigigas, cause its his birthday and Regirock/Registeel are also invited)
Once upon a time. A trainer went to catch regigigas. His mega sceptile brought him to red health upon the first move. Upon the throw of the ultra ball, it was caught immediately. The trainer proceeded to laugh hysterically. True story.
I agree. I like the Regi theme in SwSh, especially with the second half of the theme, but this version of the theme just gets you hyped up a lot more. It just sounds so much more powerful.
I love the plodding base line in the song. Something I often find myself stomping around my house to quite often. Gives this feeling of constant motion, like these ancient monuments of bygone eras(ice age, Stone Age, Iron Age) are chasing you down for disturbing their rest.
Its easier to tell in the older games' sprites; regice is more saturated and the yellow dots were slightly tinged in green, I think. Go's shiny form for it is really nice dark ice blue. There's weight and saturation to the color pallete that helps you distinguish the shiny and normal side-by-side. Its _noticeable and_ an improvement.

Hahaha! I remember trying to get these little shits as a kid, I had no patience and was so frustrated, but it was so worth it for the theme cuz I was so excited when I heard it. I'm glad they didn't change the puzzle, I could do it easily now that I'm older and know what I'm doing lol
When I was playing my Pokémon Ultra Moon game I encountered Regirock in the ultra wormhole and I loved the music but didn’t know the name of it so I just searched up on RUclips “the music that plays when you fight regirock” 😂
Lets be honest- Hoenn had some of the most *Legendary* sounding Legendary themes. Whether it be the weather trio, Deoxys, or *this* theme, all three sounded like they are made for *gods* and powerful, mysterious, ancient beings who possessed power only spoken of in myths and legends They're buried in the past now, but if you awaken them now, they'll surely show you why they're *legendary*
I know nobody will see this comment but I remember finding one regi trio by complete accident. I was playing Omega Ruby but my Dad had called me to help him with something. So anyways I put my 3DS XL down and when I came back the wall had opened I was confused but went in anyways. I saw Regice and I froze for a few seconds because he startled me just like Zygard in gen 6. I then captured him and bragged about my new catch with my school friends the next day.
It never occurred to me that the Regi's could've possibly been made to reference historic time periods. Regice referenced the last Ice Age, Regirock referencing the Stone Age, and Registeel referencing the Steel Age, taking part after Bronze Age. Who knew? Maybe Regigigas knows more than it lets on by making trainers think it's just slow and dim-witted due to its ability, but instead, is much smarter than we really think it is. That or it's just a huge fan of history, or maybe even a Historian due to how much it knows about the past!
Of all the legendary themes, I like this one best. It has that 'frantic' sound to it due to the repeating loop, and the trumpets give it a sense of epicness. And of course, the overall sound fits very well with the golem theme.

From my understanding yes, and you need all the Regis to get to him.
***** Ice heal and aspear berry works too.
Remixed in EVERY GEN since introduction!
Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon broke the streak ;-;
Anonymous Loser but wait! theres sword and shield!
And Sword and Shield has done it now!
The Regis feel like these kind of guys you see in the far back corner in the supermarket, standing there... menacingly
So one day my family had some close friends over and one of their kids had the OR half of ORAS, so I spent time watching him try to catch Regice
After chucking enough ultra balls he accidentally threw a Poké Ball
Me: Oop, there goes a Poké Ball
*ball shakes once*
Him: Yeah it’s gonna just jump out though
Me: Wait it shook once
*ball shakes twice*
Me: Oh my god if this actually catches it
*ball shakes a third time and catches*
There was a lot of excited screaming that day
I got regigigas that way lol
Same thing happened when I caught Zekrom in White
reminds me of the time i caught kyogre 1st try and when i caught ho-oh with my last great ball after running out of ultras
I did that with Regileki but on purpose I ran out of ultra balls I was like
“Might as well throw I pokeball”
My reaction in my head : holy moly I caught frickin’ regieliki in a pokeball
My reaction outside me awake at 8:00 am not wanting to rudely wake the hole world:😱😂
I caught Kyogre in a pokeball, don't really remember the details sadly
Oh lordy loo, this awakened my excruciating childhood memories of hard research regarding how to get to them, the hard process of doing it, and actually catching them with only pokeballs, yes pokeballs, not ultra, great or anything else
The mixture of instruments and the beep boops really tie together the nostalgia from Gen 3 and the modern games.

The ridiculous method for getting Regigigas, for any wondering, is VERY true.
What is it?
Theblastingkirby64
1. Catch all three Regis and have them in party.
2. Nickname your Regice (anything works).
3. Give it a Castelia Cone, Snowball, or NeverMeltIce.
4. Return to the Island Cave (where you caught Regice) and boom, Regigigas.
That's incredibly incredible.
Theblastingkirby64 It's so needlessly arbitrary xD
***** didnt you know? Other than Regirock & Registeel, Regice is like a brother to Regigigas and he is also a wanted criminal, so thats why you must nickname it and the Island Cave was direct on Regigigas' way, so ofc he took a rest there and waits for his friend to return :( better love story than twillight (the icy thing is a present for regigigas, cause its his birthday and Regirock/Registeel are also invited)
I need a 24 hour version for my Regi hunt that's been going on for 7 years PLEASE
how's it going
how's it going now
Me at the Pokeshop: I'll have 300 of your finest Ultra Balls and a book about braille, please!
Once upon a time. A trainer went to catch regigigas. His mega sceptile brought him to red health upon the first move. Upon the throw of the ultra ball, it was caught immediately. The trainer proceeded to laugh hysterically. True story.
I caught Giggas in a Net Ball and named it Slowpoke because of that
Regi used Struggle.

This is honestly better than the new regi theme in SwSh
I agree. I like the Regi theme in SwSh, especially with the second half of the theme, but this version of the theme just gets you hyped up a lot more. It just sounds so much more powerful.
If that version had as much hype as this version, it'd easily be one of the best themes.
I am just here cause the Regis got two new comrades

Introducing the newest regi:
*Registration.*
I love the plodding base line in the song. Something I often find myself stomping around my house to quite often. Gives this feeling of constant motion, like these ancient monuments of bygone eras(ice age, Stone Age, Iron Age) are chasing you down for disturbing their rest.
Shiny Regirock: Chocolate
Shiny Registeel: Mint
Shiny Regice: WTF EVEN CHANGED?!
Shiny Regiice is thing mint , mint and cold water

I remember trying to get these little shits as a kid, I had no patience and was so frustrated, but it was so worth it for the theme cuz I was so excited when I heard it. I'm glad they didn't change the puzzle, I could do it easily now that I'm older and know what I'm doing lol
Aside from the weather trio, the Regi's are the only Legendary Pokemon to have a new theme. All the others use older themes.
You know you're fucked when slow start wears off.
Why does Regigigas appear when you nickname Regice with an ice related item and the other Regis? Is Regice his favorite of the three?
It's because you catch him in the same place where you catch Regice (Island Cave).
it also might be a Sinnoh reference, as in that game you find it in a snowy area.
kirbynat493 I'm pretty sure Regigigas just wants some ice cream
It's probably a Sinnoh reference, where you find it in the bottom floor of the temple on Snowpoint City (Is that what's it called?.

When I was playing my Pokémon Ultra Moon game I encountered Regirock in the ultra wormhole and I loved the music but didn’t know the name of it so I just searched up on RUclips “the music that plays when you fight regirock” 😂
Well that's not this one but I think this one is better anyway
Lets be honest- Hoenn had some of the most *Legendary* sounding Legendary themes.
Whether it be the weather trio, Deoxys, or *this* theme, all three sounded like they are made for *gods* and powerful, mysterious, ancient beings who possessed power only spoken of in myths and legends
They're buried in the past now, but if you awaken them now, they'll surely show you why they're *legendary*
Beautiful analysis. Hoenn is truly the best generation
I'm dying of anticipation, I need to play the games nooooow!
When Regirock said ÜN ÜN ÜN, I felt that
*Regieleki has joined the chat*
*Regidrago has joined the chat*
regigigas has some explaining to do
*SPEED has joined the chat*
*Gaster Blaster has joined the chat*
The remix for sword and shield is so nostalgic and satisfying
In the new song i just love the intro.but redt of it sounds pretty empty to me. :/
All of themes being remade in this generation only made all of that much better!

It seriously felt like you were just walking in on something that was REALLY none of your business...
This as to be the best legendary battle theme of all time
You know when this music plays that shit just got real.
best pokemon's theme in my opinion
+Gamer_ Girl13 I don't remember Molester as a pokemon, did you mean Hypno by saying that?
true, i love this theme 😍😍😍😍😍😍

Love the remix of this theme.
The Pillar Men of Pokemon
I know nobody will see this comment but I remember finding one regi trio by complete accident. I was playing Omega Ruby but my Dad had called me to help him with something. So anyways I put my 3DS XL down and when I came back the wall had opened I was confused but went in anyways. I saw Regice and I froze for a few seconds because he startled me just like Zygard in gen 6. I then captured him and bragged about my new catch with my school friends the next day.
My favorite trio, not the Pokémon themselves, but just unlocking them makes it feel like a legendary adventure.
Regice was a ginormous pain in the ass for me -_-
Which one was the hardest to catch out of three for you guys?
Registeel.
Regirock was the easiest.
Regigigas for me. other 3 were easy as ever. In the originals it was Registeel though.
Regice. Damn thing was just troublesome.
I spent 2 hours in Latias............
Registeel took the longest, I actually caught Regice in 1 Ultra Ball lol
It never occurred to me that the Regi's could've possibly been made to reference historic time periods. Regice referenced the last Ice Age, Regirock referencing the Stone Age, and Registeel referencing the Steel Age, taking part after Bronze Age. Who knew? Maybe Regigigas knows more than it lets on by making trainers think it's just slow and dim-witted due to its ability, but instead, is much smarter than we really think it is. That or it's just a huge fan of history, or maybe even a Historian due to how much it knows about the past!
It's also possible that Regieleki represents the new Technological Era, and Regidrago represents the Mesozoic Era (Era of Dinosaurs)
@@rohitsaralaya1449 Regidrago seems more like it represents the Medieval Era to me.
One of my favorite tunes of the pokemon franchise.I don't know it just sounds awesome
I was scared AF for the regi's as a kid in the original gen 3 games.
Of all the legendary themes, I like this one best. It has that 'frantic' sound to it due to the repeating loop, and the trumpets give it a sense of epicness. And of course, the overall sound fits very well with the golem theme.
The regi trio, their bodies are ready.
