It's to reflect what you're fighting for, and I think that's beautiful
Indeed , that's what makes battles so intense and unique in pokemon. Although , by personal experience in songs , i say that Groundon/Kyogre are the most intimating songs , Giratina beeing the most scary song , Followed by Black/White Kyurem , the most spooky and urgent songs.
I did two nuzlocke attempts on this game a few months ago. I lost the first one because I lost half of my team trying to catch Kyogre, so on the second attempt the theme intimidated me because of the bells.

Very clever mixing the old sounds with the new. This is my second favourite remix they have done for ORAS. Those GBA trumpets mixed with orchestral sounds is just perfection.
This is better than Rayquaza's version. It beats Deoxys' theme too. But no music in ORAS will ever beat Team Aqua/Magma Boss battle theme. Zinnia's theme came close though since its really awesome. ^.^

Not only that, but the theme feels to me like it's telling us Kyogre/Groudon trusts us as much as it wants to test us. That's why it's letting us see what it really looks like.
I like not only the fact that you can hear parts of the original theme, but it also fits with the whole Primal Reversion thing. The song is reversing back to its Gba form it parts of the song! CLEVER GAMEFREAK TAKE MY FUCKING MONEY!
Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza are truly special to me as legendary pokemon. Their appearance, design, lore and their theme are what truly make you feel like you are not just fighting with a legendary beast or as high as a godly being, but now you are facing against Primordial titans that representing a force of nature itself, espicially in the Emerald version, when Groudon and Kyogre fight each other, you really can't do anything to stop the 2 titans from clashing against each other, the only one way to stop them is to get another titan to stop them from creating a total disaster.
So... Was I the only one who had chills during the cut scene when Kyogre/Groudon were going primal? Cause I played the original Ruby/Sapphire when I was little and playing the remakes now with that scene was just.. wow.
I had some evil feeling that they were going to destroy the world forever and when they were primal reverting, i had that feeling that a huge battle is about to come
The GBA pieces fading in always get me to this day. The song itself is trying to revert to its primal form. And for those of us who grew up with the original, it always feels to me as though Groudon/Kyogre is trying to let us know it remembers us from somewhere.
*Fighting Primal Groudon* Me: Alright let's do this! *Sends out Swampert* Me: Surf should do a crap ton of damage. *Surf evaporates due to Desolate Land* Me: WHAT THE FUCK. *Swampert gets OHKO'd* Me:...
my swampart and sceptile (o ruby and a sapphire respectively) kept killing them (swampert had earthquake and sceptile had grass attacks) so i had to get all my other pokemon killed while trying not to destroy them and having them eat 100 ultra balls
I did feel it. Incredible. Hopefully when the diamond and pearl remakes come out they do the same thing with dialga and palkia and have some throwbacks to the original
@@nimbusttp_archive But it'd also make sense if the did it for Palkia and Dialga's themes, since they are the Pokemon of space and time, so it isn't too Farfetched to say that they could throw in the nostalgia.
Preparing for Hurricane Matthew when suddenly this blasts through the sky. (No seriously we've been listening to this all day preparing for Matthew making contact with Florida)
This is it. Up until this point, Legendaries had just been... sorta there. Legendary Birds and Dogs just sorta there, Mewtwo's a science experiment gone awry, Ho-oh and Lugia just sorta there... Nothing that truly screamed "legendary" aside from Ho-oh and Lugia to an extent Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza truly felt like divine beings, actual gods with powers far beyond what any other Pokemon could do. You're not just facing abnormally strong Pokemon, you're facing the beings that raised the continents, carved out the seas, and lord over the earth as their domain, creatures that had existed for millions of years, long before man set foot on the planet, and will exist long after man vanishes. This trio, and the others that came after it, were truly fitting of the term "Legendary"
I remember when I first saw Kyogre transform into Primal Kyogre and how I was left staring at my 3DS in disbelief and awe. And then I realized that I still had to catch it when I threw my Mightyena out to face down a legendary. Alpha Sapphire was an amazing experience.
lol I caught Groudon in a Pokeball, and had my Skitty out front since everyone else fainted. So when I watch the credits of the game, all you see is this giant, menacing, lava monster of doom, and a tiny pink cat standing before it. So epic. And this theme is so great, with the hints of gen 3 in it. So good.
I love how this theme truly makes you feel like you’re battling titans. Completely re-captures the feeling of nervousness playing the original GBA. Pure nostalgia.
I wonder who truly represents the beginning and the end between Primal Kyogre and Xerneas, Primal Groudon and Yveltal. Xerneas gives everlasting life to everyone and restores nature, while Primal Kyogre creates the sea, which water is essential to all living things, and represents Alpha. Meanwhile, Yveltal destroys everything in its path, and will absorb every living thing if it dies. Primal Groudon created the land, can scorch the entire world to its death by its unbearable heat, and represents Omega
BooLand 12 In terms of actually helping Kyogre, Primordial Sea couldn't possibly reek of redundancy any more than it already does. He still holds his own against non-STAB Solarbeam, but non-STAB earthquake on Primal Groudon isn't going to cut it.
I absolutely love how they intercut the old GBA instruments into the music! It makes sense when you think about the context of the battle, fighting Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon.
...Did I hear snippets of the original Ruby and Sapphire themes? Like, as in filtered to sound EXACTLY like the one from my childhood? Nah...couldn't be. Game Freak wouldn't give me a Nostalgia boner that huge.
TooEliteForYou Oh no, you did. I can't remember when, but at one point in the game someone mentions that it's possible for there to be rips to diffferent times and alternate realities. hence the Hoopa rings in the post-game. I like to think that being so deep underground with such a surge of energy nearly caused a tear in the dimension - hence it feeling like it in the music.
TooEliteForYou I actually find it as a bit of symbolism. The more modern music is their primal form and the bits of the older music is most likely a small amount of their original forms trying to hang in there.
This theme is awesome. I love how you can hear the old theme in the background, it's like the battle you had with the Ledgendaries in the og Ruby and Sapphire back in 2003 have come back to get you, but they're even more powerfull
Man ever since Diagla and Palkia it seems that the main story Legendary Pokémon are easy to catch because of story purposes Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon: However we Disagree
***** How Groudon is usually slower than Kyogre and his primal ability Desolate Land cancels Water attacks negating his 4x weakness to Water. Also Groudon can learn Solarbeam.
The manga arc of Kyrogue and Groudon is something else! Hoenn is TRULY destroyed by them just MOVING. Ground gives a step further and half land gets burned. The imense energy ball that forms while they both are fighting... the manga does really gives you the feeling that these two, when fighting, shape the whole world in the lands and seas.
Why don't you save your game right before you head into a legendary battle? Do it because 1. You can re-battle when you kill him. 2. If you run out of pokeballs, greatballs, ultraballs, etc., you can restart.
I love the detail of including the GBA sounds, it's the best possible way of signalling Primal "REVERSION", like the music goes back to the GBA times. What comes to my mind is that they could have done this with each soundtrack, but then this one specifically signalling REVERSION won't be any special. Good job Game Freak for one of my fav games, ORAS.
I literally get chills everytime I hear this theme. I always think of Precipice Blades and Origin Pulse whenever I hear it. That's when you know you've done it right. All hail the Primal Legendaries of the Earth and Sea
Primal Kyogre and its cry alone didn't scare me, but the moment I heard this music while attempting to capture him, I feel so pressured by the intensity of this music. (Yup, played Alpha Sapphire first.) And damn it's hard to capture him with Ultra Balls. I bet the same will happen if I get to play Omega Ruby and got stuck with Primal Groudon too.
I HATE YOU YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW IT FEELS TO SPEND 4 HOURS REPEATEDLY HAVING MY TEAM MURDERED BY GROUDON AS I THROW LITERALLY ALL OF MY POKEBALLS OF EVERY KIND EACH TIME OH BUT WAIT TILL YOU HEAR THIS- I CAUGHT HIM IN A QUICK BALL ON THE 40TH TURN OF THE BATTLE WHERE I CAUGHT HIM QUICK BALL 40TH TURN
+Naotoception KuShirogane I have to agree with you on the Ultra Ball. I feel like I never actually catch a legendary with one. lol I recently did catch Primal Kyogre with an Ultra Ball though. Took about 15-20. lol I'm just glad Primal Kyogre doesn't use Origin Pulse too often though. xD
+Anna012692 Ultra Balls are my choice in capturing Legendaries since I don't want to use the one Master Ball found in-game and it'll be a waste. There are certain Legendaries which take me only 1 or 2 Ultra Balls if I manage to get their health low enough for the "Your opponent's weak. Get 'em, (Pokémon's name)!" message.
This is the only Pokémon ost that's ever given me legit chills The mixing of the original OST is so good and actually.... meaningful? This is such a great track.
I know this is late but, i always come here and listen to this every once in a while. And even after years of hearing it, I still get goosebumps snd shivers when I hear the original theme blended in with this. I always goosebumps, no matter where I'm at, this song's beautiful in every way I knew a remake could be made possible. I wonder if they'll do the same with Sinnoh's remakes in the near future? That'd be pretty awesome having the old theme mixed with the new one!

Had to soft reset 4 times. Kyogre's Aqua Ring made it so annoying to catch, it kept on hacking with Ice Beam and Body Slam, AND its Origin Pulse kept on hitting like a truck. Luckily I have a Special Tank Sylveon in my team but that only gets you so far. Caught it with a Dusk Ball on my first throw after the 4th reset. At least it wasn't piss easy to catch like with X and Y's legendaries.
I didn't have to soft reset the game when I caught it for the first time. I putted Gardevoir in my first slot since she has a Modest nature and her ability is Synchronize. And Pokemon with the ability Synchronize has a 50% chance of meeting a wild Pokemon with the same nature as it if you put them first in your party. As for me I used Moonblast to lower Kyogre's Sp.Attack and as well as letting Mightyena use Snarl on it, and lastly, letting Metagross use Hold Back. I mostly used Net Balls most of the time to capture it and eventually I caught it.
I had my Magnezone use thunder wave on Kyogre and then set up with my Ninjask's several swords dances to false swipe, and caught it in a dusk ball. I was lucky it didn't use Aqua Ring.
People might be obsessed with the GBA samples but I'm more impressed they mixed the actual instruments with the ones the GBA was trying to emulate making the transition seemless.
My maxed out stat lvl 83 lucario could EASILY kill it with one aura sphere ESPECIALLY if mega evolved but so can my lvl 79 jolteon with its INSANE speed
I haven't felt this strongly about a Pokemon game in a long time. But there was something about seeing Kyogre undergo Primal Reversion and then battle you while this music is playing... it's absolutely epic.
Okay. i used to like the regular version but when i heard this... omg I love how they combined the original theme with a newer theme and it just added onto the awesomeness of it.
Groudon: Oh? You're approaching me? Instead of running away, you come right to me? Even though your master's friend, Steven, told you the secret of Primal Reversion like an exam student scrambling to finish the problems on an exam until the last moments before the chime? My Mega Swampert: I can't beat the shit out of you without getting closer. Groudon: oho! Then come as close as you'd like.
Gotta be one of the hardest tracks GameFreak has ever dropped. I didn’t even grow up with gen 3, I was gen 4 and 5, but even I popped off when I heard those little snips of the original. 10/10
This theme is probably my favorite in the entire series. Not just this actual song but the whole theme of the rivalry between Kyogre and Groudon and primal reversion. Their story is a reimagining of real world events, while there were no pokemon involved, obviously, the cataclysmic battle between land and sea was a real thing. About 4 billion years ago at the turn of the hadean eon to the archean, when the oceans were born. It rained around the globe for 2 million years. Literally boiling water fell from the skies as volcanic activity continued to heat the surface so much that the rains never ended, leading to storms more powerful than any living being has ever seen. Only further agitated by mountains being thrown up from the violent young earth practically overnight. No living thing could have survived then. If the boiling rains pelting you at hundreds of miles an hour and the unrestrained lightning didn't kill you, the searing heat, lava flows and noxious volcanic ash and gases would. Eventually things calmed down and life began to form on the planet in the following years. But much like in the Pokemon version of these events, the true primal power of nature is only sleeping, not dead. Any number of unknown factors could trigger that battle all over again... nature is scary.
Its honestly amazing how they paid tribute to the original games by playing the original GBA sound effects in the mix, it sounds beautiful.

I literally cried when you ride on Lati(o)as the first time
They really knew how to play with nostalgia in that game
I had some evil feeling that they were going to destroy the world forever and when they were primal reverting, i had that feeling that a huge battle is about to come

Did your heart feel it?
The nostalgia?
I'm hopping for game freak to make dialgia's and palkia's themes remix with the same tribute they made with groudon's and kyogre's theme in or/as
I did feel it. Incredible. Hopefully when the diamond and pearl remakes come out they do the same thing with dialga and palkia and have some throwbacks to the original
@@raptorforever9626 I don’t think so. They did that because it’s a Primal(original) REVERSION, therefore it reverts back to the original theme.
@@nimbusttp_archive But it'd also make sense if the did it for Palkia and Dialga's themes, since they are the Pokemon of space and time, so it isn't too Farfetched to say that they could throw in the nostalgia.

This is it. Up until this point, Legendaries had just been... sorta there. Legendary Birds and Dogs just sorta there, Mewtwo's a science experiment gone awry, Ho-oh and Lugia just sorta there... Nothing that truly screamed "legendary" aside from Ho-oh and Lugia to an extent
Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza truly felt like divine beings, actual gods with powers far beyond what any other Pokemon could do.
Does it revert back the the gen 3 music every so often?
It sounds like it's shifting from remake to original so smoothly, it makes it sound so much more epic
It does. I think it fits well with the fact that you are essentially fighting their original formes.

Seeing as Mega Ray uses a version of the theme that’s “all remix,” I think this was intended.

Just say Kaiju. Or Daikaiju. Whichever floats the boat about to be destroyed by the giant Tyranitar.
Still wouldn't be the same if it was without the Pocket Monster emphasis. Otherwise it would be just a Kaiju.
Kyogre will always be super effective against groudon

Yes, you heard them right. Original themes there!!!!
TooEliteForYou
there was actually parts from the original themes!

Luckily I have a Special Tank Sylveon in my team but that only gets you so far. Caught it with a Dusk Ball on my first throw after the 4th reset.
At least it wasn't piss easy to catch like with X and Y's legendaries.
***** Well, I guess Kyogre was just pissed off at me. LOL.
Atleast you caught me after the 4th Reset
I didn't have to soft reset the game when I caught it for the first time. I putted Gardevoir in my first slot since she has a Modest nature and her ability is Synchronize. And Pokemon with the ability Synchronize has a 50% chance of meeting a wild Pokemon with the same nature as it if you put them first in your party. As for me I used Moonblast to lower Kyogre's Sp.Attack and as well as letting Mightyena use Snarl on it, and lastly, letting Metagross use Hold Back. I mostly used Net Balls most of the time to capture it and eventually I caught it.
I never have to reset because of my luck with timer balls i catch them every single time using a timer ball
I had my Magnezone use thunder wave on Kyogre and then set up with my Ninjask's several swords dances to false swipe, and caught it in a dusk ball. I was lucky it didn't use Aqua Ring.

Life is now 99.9999998% complete.
All I need is the game
Same :D
