It is better to build this expressway on pillars to have connectivity to the wild life from below to both sides of the road and have a two lane road for locals.

I am hearing this since childhood. But not clear idea what the project is for. Today came to know.
As i know that this will connect the Panvel - Matheran Road which passes thru New Panvel - East.
But NHAI will divert it in other direction. Because this section is full of traffic and also the Mumbai - Pune Expressway too passing.

This expressway should be given the name as " राजाधिराज छत्रपती शिवाजी राजे भोसले राष्ट्रिय महा मार्ग" It will be the apt naming after The Great Maharaja who happen to travel all the way to Agra and also been to Surat.

this package is waste of money as there is no connector on this road until Virar multimodal corridor is created. consider it 4 years from now on. Mr. Nitin gadkari's words are only on paper. he hasn't focused anything in gujarat and maharashtra sections while delhi, MP, rajasthan even haryana and UP connectors which were announced after these main states have almost got up to 50% completion. this is so pathetic progress. NHAI is not even giving a fucking update even after 9 months. shame on mr. nitin gadakari. he is only focusing on stupid city like nagpur where none of industries exists.
You are right. There is no update or work on the most important part of this section which is interchange with Mumbai Pune Expressway which is really stupid. Mr. gadkari had a good run but we need new face in 2024. NH 48 mumbai vadodara highway is perhaps one of the most busy highways and even after all this years plus the infamous Cyrus Mistry accident its state is absolutely pathetic. New versova bride is a joke and work has still not completed, causing massive traffic jams. The hilly section of NH48 from versova bridge towards thane is also always congested and calling it a "national highway" is being generous. These are very busy sections with massive toll collection and still nothing has been done for years.

Tremendous deforestation for infrastructure and for road development we already know and faced impact of climate change.. On national level we conducted go green project and here deforestation.. Don't play with nature.. IN kokan region the locals villagers don't want petro chemical projects and mining projects still govt giving permission and started the work but why.. is it demeocry without consent of villagers how will govt sanctioned the Asias biggest petro checimal project..
