The song is their response to the people who complained about their songs being mainly in English instead of their native language. Basically, their saying to those people to blank themselves.

The overwhelming majority in Mexico showed love..however a small group of critics judged them incorrectly. The love they are shown by their countrymen is evident by these concerts in Mexico which are nothing short of exceptional and in my eyes one of the best I’ve ever seen. This song is their answer to those critics and as you can tell it’s the audiences answer to those critics as well.

This is a phenomenon that I have only seen with this band from Mexico, that people from other countries are interested in understanding the Spanish language, even musically, it is just an example, I know, but it is significant. I have also seen it with people from Germany, Austria, England.

From what I've read this song is especially satisfying to the Sisters because years earlier they were criticized for being sell-outs to their culture by writing and singing song in English. So this song is a retort to the haters with a big FU - you don't know anything...na...na..na!! IMO this is the best performance of this song; the last encore and a fitting end to the concert!
    Translation in English:
They say they have to pray for me
So worried but I do not see
That they are praying so much
    It's not for much
    Quit your judging already
    Stay away from me
    Please!
    Criticize me a little more
I find myself entertained to hear
    Everything you say
    All your badmouthing
Let me laugh a little more
    Because you don't know anything
You run your mouth and don't shut up
    I cover my ears and
    I simply say
Na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na
    Let me refute the list
I'm not crazy or a malinchista

    Lyrics
They say you have to pray for me
    So worried
But, I don't see that you're praying that much
It's not that bad, stop your judgments
    Get away from me, please
    Criticize me a little more
    I find myself entertained listening
Everything you say, what you curse
Let me laugh a little more
Because you, you don't know anything
You spread the word and you don't shut up
I cover my ears and I simply say
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Let me deny the list, I'm not crazy or a malinchista
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
They say I'm selfish, damned narcissist
I don't know what to do anymore
I don't see the point in pretending
I'm not trying anymore, because I already know
That behind the curtains, they keep talking!
Their good intentions always come out unnecessary!
Don't think you're fooling me with that disguise Because you, you don't know anything You spread the word and you don't shut up I cover my ears and I just say Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na Let me deny the list, I'm not crazy or a malinchista Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na They say I'm selfish, damned narcissist Na, na, na, na, na, na Na, na, na, na, , na I will deny the list again I am not crazy or a malinchista Na, na, na, na, na, na Na, na, na, na, na, na They say I am selfish, damned narcissist. END
Also In Mexico we use the term malinchista to refer to someone who prefers foreign things over national things, which can be people, language, culture, etc. I suppose they say that because most of their songs are in English and not Spanish.

This was actually the second encore and, therefore, 23rd song of the show. They tend to use Narcisista as the first encore for Engish-speaking audiences and Evolve as the closer. They flip it in Spanish speaking countries. At the beginning, share is inviting the audience to sing along, that she is listening to hear them.

Apparently, their critics know nothing of the international rock, metal music industry. Numerous groups from various countries wrote and sang their songs in English and not their native languages. i.e. ABBA, the famous pop group from the 1970's (from Sweden).,the Scorpions from the 1980's were another group, they were German. In recent years, Nightwish from Finland and Love Bites from Japan. Just to name a couple. English is used worldwide and makes it easier to get noticed.

A lot of people learning Spanish tend to learn Castilian Spanish, to be "more perfect" in their translation. But like any regional dialect, Mexican Spanish is different enough... and that's not even getting into Northern Mexico regional dialect and slang terms. Fortunately, this song is fairly simple generally. Non-Mexicans might be thrown by the term "Malinchista", because it's a specific cultural reference that doesn't exist in Spain (although it might be understood in some South American countries). For English speakers, think "race traitor" or "culture traitor" is probably more accurate. It's probably not a term one would learn in a standard Spanish class. It's also a term tossed around way to frequently and kind of has become nearly meaningless to most people. It just bounces off people and they ignore it... but Pau was really offended at the implication and this was her response.
As you may guess, I absolutely _adore_ this tune. 😋

    Malinchista:
"Malinchista" is a Spanish term that refers to someone who is perceived as prioritizing foreign culture over their own. It can also refer to someone who is critical of their own country and its ways in comparison to foreign countries.
The term comes from the story of Malinche, a native woman who served as an interpreter for Hernán Cortés during the Spanish conquest of Tenochtitlán. Malinche was born around 1500-1505 in Coatzacoalcos, in what is now Veracruz. She was given the name Malintzin by the Aztecs, and the Christian name Doña Marina.
Malinche's role in the conquest is controversial:
Some historians believe that Malinche helped save her people from the Aztecs.
Others believe that she betrayed the Indigenous people by siding with the Spaniards.
Some Mexicans consider her a traitor.
The term "malinchista" is sometimes used in politics, such as in El Salvador, where leftist parties use it to describe their opponents

Nice run down on the word. I’m learning Spanish and had to prepare an oral presentation in class. I chose to talk about how I discovered this word ( through this song) and the history you’ve outlined. Interestingly, my El Salvadorian instructor had never heard it. I was recently in Chile and Argentina and asked a few people if they were familiar with the word…Nope. That said, my Hotel was on Malinche street in San Jose, Costa Rica. Most Mexicans however, seem to know the word.
In their writing TW selects many English words which are perfectly used, but not in common usage: Palpable, Rapacity, Bemuse and Conundrum being good examples. Recently Pau insisted on using “ Debase” which many English speakers can’t define.

@@Biomirth you should read “ The Conquest of New Spain” by Bernal Diaz (Translated from Spanish). Diaz was a soldier with Cortez and later became a Governor in Guatemala. The book is his first-hand account of the whole campaign, including some sections about Malinche and her many roles with Cortez ( slave, translator, negotiator, wife, mother). Written a couple decades after the events, the book has its critics, he got a few things wrong ( or at least different) from some other accounts. Great Read though.

Narcisista is so full of attitude, rightfully so. This band was accused, by critics, of betraying their culture by writing and singing their songs in English. In every interview and many live performances, they are sure to let you know they are Mexican. They are true ambassadors to Mexico .
The ONE thing, in all this world, you DON’T do, is piss off Paulina !!!
Pau taunts “Criticize me a little more, I find myself entertained.”
So, here is a translation :
They say they have to pray for me
So worried but I do not see
That they are praying so much
    It's not for much
    Quit your judging already
    Stay away from me
    Please!
    Criticize me a little more
I find myself entertained to hear
    Everything you say
    All your badmouthing
Let me laugh a little more
    Because you don't know anything
You run your mouth and don't shut up
    I cover my ears and
    I simply say
Na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na
    Let me refute the list
I'm not crazy or a malinchista
Na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na
    They say I am selfish
    Condemned narcisist
I don't know what to do anymore
I don't see the point of pretending
    I'm not trying any more
    Because I already know
That behind the curtains they keep talking
Their good intentions always come out lacking
Don't believe that you're fooling me with that disguise
    Because you don't know anything
You run your mouth and don't shut up
    I cover my ears and
    I simply say
Na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na
    Let me refute list
I'm not crazy or a malinchista
Na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na
    They say I am selfish
    Condemned narcisist
    I'll refute the list again
I'm not crazy or a malinchista
Na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na
    They say I am selfish
    Condemned narcisist

Just to point out, ¨malinchista¨ is what we call people in Mexico that reject our own culture in favor of foreign things. That´s what people were calling The Warning for singing in English. Which is stupid, they are bilingual, why should they limit themselves to only singing in Spanish?
