The flowing hair sure is a beautiful coin, as well as not having a WEF puppet on it. Talking of mintage limits, one of my half sovereigns has a mintage of just 500! Sadly, mintage doesn't always mean desirability.
Remember, black liberty As well as the american census of 2021, white american are only 57% the new coins and banknotes your getting are a reflection on that
Awesome video as always SilverMetal. The price depends on many factors, besides mintage, one of them is marketing. For example the coin I have as a thumbnail for my channel(2 horses gold coin) had a mintage of 200, is .9999 pure and from Perth Mint and costed around $3200.
Yeah, sure. Mexicans couldn't invent anything but they do it better. I don't pay more for Mexican products for a reason and there's a reason USA products are becoming lower quality than they used to be.
Regarding 13:14, an example of a really successful high demand, low mintage gold coin was the 2019 Royal Mint Great Engravers: Una and the Lion Gold Proof 2 Ounce Coin which had a very low mintage of just 225 coins originally priced at £3,395 each. They all sold out within a blink of an eye. Soon thereafter their resale prices skyrocketed from £40,000 to £70,000 each. Their resale prices remain high today, because there are only 225 of these gold coins in existence and they are still highly coveted by wealthy collectors.
Many disgruntled collectors who did not get one… I like the direction the mint is going with manufacturing low mintage anything…. It is bringing in new coin collectors.
My favorite Gold & Silver coin is the 2014 Baseball Hall of Fame, Especially the Autographed ones. The interest in these when they came out was crazy, But has fallen off, And a lot of people don't even know about them. I take that back, The most Beautiful Gold coin is Kimberly Sunrise .
I have bought some Somalia Silver Elephants and they are beautifully designed and struck. 2024 is one that I wanted. And did you see the coin, silver that has the USA design on one side and a British design on the other?
The gold proof Flowing Hair coin is amazing. Glad to see that you got a nice example! I bought one as well and I will be keeping it for my collection. I hope we see more gold proofs for other classic designs in the future.
How can the mat justify charging such a large premium over the spot price and then put it in the package? It looks like it came out of a crackerjack box.😂
Coins that come with lots of packaging and high premiums are not for me, most of the time. I did get a full set of the 2023 Morgan and Peace dollars, but mostly I stick with standard (not proof) ASEs, AGEs, and Buffalos. Plus a little pre-33 gold and constitutional silver.
Very beautiful coin. I am not sad that I failed to get one, rather, I AM happy that SAL got one. That Canada coin is gorgeous, albeit having the Charles image. TY for sharing this information.
Great Info ℹ️ Sal , thanks 🙏. And I think you let the cat 🐱 out of the bag , you said “Coin” and then you said “ I mean item” about your big surprise after 100,000 Subscribers 😅
Thanks for the video. Take a look at the 2023 High Relief Gold Coin and put it next to the logo for The University of Arkansas. The leaves on the tree definitely are in an image of the Razorback Hog Logo like my insider friend explained to me. We are putting together some images to post on RUclips. The background on the design of the 2023 is crazy. We believe that the insiders gave it Coin of the Year in TWO Categories because they know what is coming.
Flowing hair looks incredible in gold. Glad you have nice profit on it, uncle Sal. How on earth did RCM achieve five nines fine? That's an insane level of purity.
Write back IMMEDIATELY to the U.S. Mint about issues with the packaging, thinning etc they probably CARE about what their paying customer have to say and would work on changes.
Wrong the US Mint could care less about its paying customers! I wrote the US Mint about the ( in your bag ) scam and they told me the product in your bag is not really yours until you complete the whole buying process. Plus they allowed people to jump the waiting room line by being on their site before the product was released. Now the same US Mint is playing with the numbers on product limits too! Shame on them!
Thanks for your sharing of the modern day bullion coins that in my opinion are trying to emulate their pre 1933 counterparts. They are pretty, but as you say, have a very high premium! For me, gold bullion already comes with a high enough premium over spot. So, if I’m going to pay a bigger premium, I’m going to go for a numismatic high grade, or true rarity. Anyway that’s my 2cents worth. (My fav. Is a MS67 Morgan from CC.)
Congrats Sal, very happy that you were one of the few that were able to get a hold of one of these beautiful coins directly from the US Mint. Great video regarding this coin. All of the best.
Great Video Sal, always love maples such a beautiful shine on their gold coins. I like the flowing hair but the premium is so high Im not sure if its worth keeping or if its better to flip it for a small profit.
Another great gold coin is the 1967 Canada $20 gold peice. It is over half of an ounce and the premiums aren't bad and it's a beautiful coin very under the radar. Something different than bullion and with history for a half oz size
So fewer people can afford the kings gold today. Those coins need to be in the hundreds of montages if they are going to hold any value or even gain value
After the mint dropped the bomb that they were auctions the god privy coins I opted to not drop the money for this. If you want to see a good interview with her watch the one that the CIN show podcast did. I want impressed with her answers but she is very nice.
Looks like one of the many 2 leaf 1795 silver die varieties! Except for 1 example all 1794 originals came from 1 set of front and reverse dies and have an almost absent 4 because the mint only had a tilted half $ hand screw press. By 1795 they had a dollar press and was replaced by the dropped bust mid yr. Study of these & shipwreck cobs are a passion. The edge lettering is perfect. Great vid Sal 👍❤🤗🐣

I have a silver $100 Canadian 1.1 oz coin issued ten years ago with a Bison on it. I paid 100 usd for it. You can apparently redeem it for $100 at the Canadian banks. That is if they still give out cash up there.😁
A lot of time it goes along with uniqueness and eye appeal. The Pan-Pacific Octagonal and Round comes to my mind... the round is rarer but the octagonal certainly is more unique and has some major eye appeal. As to the edge finning, I just wish they could sand it off or use some symbol as the divider to remove those awful lines... my 2 cents. Thanks for the video Sal!

The 1 oz proof gold buffalo has a lower mintage than flowing hair
I'm down to earth can't afford the high premium pieces . Congrats Sal.
The U.S. Mint's extremely high premium over spot gold is killing demand, as well it should.
For the price paid, the box should have been wood with dovetailed corners and the interior lined in silver.
Rarity is only one aspect of value of a coin. Demand and appeal are also very important.
I like the Maple Leaf. Very cool.

Liberty looks pretty grumpy on the gold. Didn't really think about it before.
Mexico mint has mastered side lettering on their coins for 100s of years. US mint would be better off if they studied those more.
Yeah, sure. Mexicans couldn't invent anything but they do it better. I don't pay more for Mexican products for a reason and there's a reason USA products are becoming lower quality than they used to be.
