    The only thing you really need in the northern forest is an ax. A good ax will warm and can save your life. The ax is much more important than the knife in the forest. Well, it's nice to have a squaw in the northern forest with you, which can hunt and make a fire in the snow.

    I agree that the Serrated edge is not useful..however talking with others with the Wave..they tell me its great for cordage cutting. But for me, I grinded,filed away the Serrated edge, and made a straight edge which is much better. cheers..great vid, thank you and enjoy your day ;-))

    Brother, we may have been separated at birth! Great EDC. Had a good magnesium rod and its perfect. Sprinkle some magnesium on anything including duct tape and it starts on fire EVERYTIME. Thanks.

    Haya... was just watching your vids, I noticed your striker... it actually looked quite familliar to me... so I went back and went thru my tools and low and behold I put my hands on just the same thing... its made out of a carbide cutoff tool no? I understand not carying one use items, and guess what... that carbide tool will sharpen or rather touch up any of your bladed tools in a pinch....

    Found your channel through Chris. Love it. I PM'd you on Facebook about your pick for a one knife. i guess I know now. I looked up up. I started a savings for that puppy. I was wondering about the Schrade 36 and 37 that you tested with Chris in the mean time. I'm a beginner so not sure I like the 7 inch but then again it may look small in my hands. I have big hands. At anyrate at the end of this video you were gonna respond to some PM's but you guy's were having to my fun (awesome by the way) to finish. What were you gonna say?

    Finally I saw a compass. Your one of the few that I've seen that has, or at least, mentioned a compass. I've saw a lot of "survival" oriented videos & they show a myriad of "survival" tools, but I rarely ever see or hear mention of a compass.

    • @WilliamMyersmantisoutdoors
      @WilliamMyersmantisoutdoors  7 лет назад

      oldtimer4567 to be honest it's one of the least used tools all I really need is a general direction and I only ever use a compass when I'm navigating courses

Just a suggestion in the future maybe you could give a list of what you carried us you were going pretty fast for me and I was going backwards and forth trying to understand what you said to write it down for a comparison. Keep the videos coming you're doing a great job thank you for all your time and effort.🚶💀

    Will, I really like your videos, and I'm not trying to be a troll or a hater, but could you please consider pausing the camera and blowing your nose? I've noticed that not only on your videos, but the ones you do w/ Chris at PM101 you are sniffling in a lot of them. It's a drag to listen to and detracts from otherwise good videos. Thanks for listening.
