Brilliant Grant... the upside down tree technique... the torn paper grass defining the snow bank edge... the snow shading placement... those darks at the waters edge. Pretty awesome!
This was not only instructive and meditative but it got m through a strenuous elliptical workout. I watched in silence but will return. I felt as if I was plein air painting, in the moment. Lovely lovely.
I really liked this one! When you spoke about the background trees and mAking sure the value was right was key, I couldnt agree more. It took me a while to realize values were the way to get depth. In all actuality you could have done a monochrome painting in any color, and as long as the values were right it would mAke sense. I alwAys do a value sketch now before starting. Keep up the demos, please!
Maravilloso paisaje nevado! Me gusta la textura lograda en la nieve y en el árbol. Los reflejos y sombras en el agua: impresionante. FELICITACIONES Grant.
+Kathy Weiss I have explored watercolour canvas and various smooth resistant surfaces but they all lift so easily, That is, the paint moves when glazing. Hot pressed paper, illustration board and plasticized surfaces are too slippery for my purpose. But I recommend experimenting, it can be fun.
