@@simplicityhappiness5442 I used homemade paste to cover the boxes with kraft paper.. for attaching the cardboard pieces I used extra strong formula from Elmer's.
Thank you! My mom could make anything out of cardboard or old wooden boxes she picked up behind stores. We have so many boxes coming from Amazon, I can do this even without money.
My boyfriend's daughter just had a birthday and I got her dress up clothes. We don't really have somewhere to put them and they are stuffed in a cardboard box. I am excited to turn the box into something more appealing to the eye! I am excited to get started on it this weekend. I am a school teacher and think I have some extra fabric in my classroom, but if not I can get it inexpensively at Walmart. Of course I will have to remember to bring my glue gun home lol. I can't wait to get started. Thank you for your video.
Thank you. Absolutely beautiful. I love the one with fabri I was searching for an idea of how to make these since they are expens6and hard to find d al, the same size. You are very gifted. Thank you for the inspiration
Brilliant idea..got many cardboards to recycle then i saw this video..will try this to make boxes for my children’s toys. Thank you for the idea..❤️❤️❤️
What a marvelous way to consciously reuse cardboard. Just the new box alone, detailed, could be a gift alone! I just though of this! Is it no wonder I am a new scribe?! Love this channel...chose full of ideas! 💕👍🏻🏡
you could also show how to cover with fabric, bcoz you covered it so neatly with fabric... so demo or tips of how to cover neatly with fabric would have also helped
Amazingly creative video that is incredibly helpful. Especially for getting organized with bins that you can customize in size to fit your exact needs and appearance to match your personal decor. However I am somehow missing how you properly secure the bottom piece? I noticed yours fit perfectly snug but worried about putting objects with weight into the bin and causing the bottom to pop out. If possible please let me know your solution to avoid this issue. ❤️ from Shannon in Canada 🇨🇦
Hello...this is a bit late but I used glue sticks to attach all the cardboard pieces including the bottom piece..had to edit it that way so people won't get bored..hahaha..and I also recommend covering the bins with kraft paper/brown paper. Doing so will make the box last longer...
Best ever DIYs to utilise cardboard and make things look decent enough. I really liked your video ❤️😊👍 but are these storage containers washable?? Will it sustain after washing it . Please let me know
Hi..yes, the paper mache will harden the box that is why I always do it if I'm using cardboards.. I used cutter knife or utility knife to cut the boxes.. 😊
Corners are attached using glue gun only..O didn't add any reinforcement..Then I added a layer of craft paper dipped using my homemade glue..1 layer of craft paper is enough for me,they are still intact up to now..really depends on you, but if your cardboard is a bit thin I think it's better to layer it more..
It's called corrugated cardboard, the same with the ones you get when you order from amazon...yes it is sturdy because I covered it with brown grocery bag..
this is a bit late but here's how I did mine... draw a rectangular shape on a 6x8 inches of cardboard and cut it out.. the margins would be 2cm top, 3 cm on the left and right side and 10 cm on the bottom part.. I hope you understand..I'm having a hard time explaining since I'm not a native english speaker..I hope I can reply with a photo..I'll make things easier..hahah
I'm sorry but I haven 't tried that yet..but it might be possible, just dont put too much pressure when sanding.. or you can paint it twice for a smoother look..
Hi.. I used Elmer's glue all extra strong formula to attach the boxes. Kraft paper is the same with the brown grocery bag and I just made a homemade paste using cornstarch to adhere the paper unto the boxes..it's like I'm doing a paper mache'.. 😊
Looked high and low for a foot locker style trunk to store my daughter's dress up clothes. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxRkkpE1_3gMEZ2mPhAt6b2moNCUXyH8tG I had one growing up that I stored my Barbies in and wanted something sturdy like that for her costumes. This arrived really, really quickly and is exactly what I've been looking for. Perfect size, color (pink) and has stood up for nearly a year so far against my kids using it as a chair, stage, and barricade (😬) to keep each other out of their rooms. I'm probably going to order another one for my daughter's Barbies.
Yes you are right..but depends on how you actually made it.. covering it with kraft paper like doing paper mache helped a lot to reinforce and make my box more sturdier...we're still using it up until now..we use it to organize my kid's toys..😊
That I'm not sure how to answer cos I only used my cardboard for storing toys or my art supplies(no issue with cockroaches yet)..but I guess you won't have a problem with cockroaches if you keep things tidy..

You’re not showing if it was glued together ?? or how did the boxes stay together ??
Thank you I asked my mom to get the storage cubes for my shelf but she didn't have enough money so I'm just going to make it bc these look way cuter!

Very nice. Great to use cardboard rather than throwing in landfill or buying plastic ones. 😍

Can the surface be sanded to smooth out without damaging it?

Please do the paper mache tutorials
How to paste the fabric...
I just used the white glue cos i don't have the one for fabric..
I wish the instructions were more clear regarding binging of pieces together , process of covering in fabric etc. Good vid tho for an idea.
will note this for future vids..
I attach the cardboard pieces together using hot glue sticks..and use glue for the fabric..
What is that sticky craft paper? Atleast mention a link to it or list of materials description box
It's craft paper or brown grocery bag dipped into homemade glue..
@@MOMDOESDIY homemade glue ?
Could you give measurements
What glue did you use to attach the side of the boxes together. Also what is kraft paper and how did you adhere it? Is it like mod podge?
