When I told them I was a freelance voice actor, they told me to get a storage cube big enough for my mic and surround it with soundproof foam on the inside. they kept saying that the pros do it too so I did that and it's been a really big help with background noise. "This won't define you"
    Me: calls it "Emilepsy"
    But seriously, as someone who has had epilepsy for like 18 years or so and has always thought "who would want to date/care for someone like me who has Epilepsy" (luckily I /have/ found someone who I haven't scared away)
    But this is still so important to me. Seizures are hella scary for everyone involved and especially after you felt like you've been hit by a charter bus and I personally repeat myself....even being awear that Im repeating myself (i.e "uugh i really dont feel good.....I know i say that every minute but i really dont") but yeah this audio is very comforting for someone like me who goes through it all the time and is always afraid of being rejected on the grounds of "epilepsy is too difficult"

    Now i know that i could comment something like "OMFG THIS WAS SO GOD DAMN CUTE" and stuff like that and i normally do...but tbh this Audio hit really close to home and brought back some memories, because about 1 year ago my brother had a massive seizure, he was just walking the dog with my dad, my dad said that my brother stopped walking, my dad didn't notice until a little later and tbh he thought that my brother was just messing with him, but then he fell to the ground and started smashing his head against the ground, my dad already knew what to do but my brother wouldn't stop and my dad was scared that he would bite his tounge, in the end my dad was able to call the ambulance and they took him to the hospital, my mom was in tears, my little brother didn't even belive us when we told him about it, and i was just in shock tbh...but yeah that's why this audio was a bit different this time for me than usual...you still did a great job Cardlin. ^ ^

    this is absolutely amazing, I'm considering working on a script for someone with autism as it's a condition I have and something like this to get me through it would really help me and I'd love to hear your take on it. thanks for everything, cardlin 💚

      Dude, I would love to help you with that. But what to focus on? Being unable to discern certain emotions and frustration over having it spelled it out? Being older and still having certain tendencies? Not being able to tell what you feel to begin with?

    • @nat.caithanxx5919
      @nat.caithanxx5919 7 лет назад +13

      probably stuff like going out in public and how difficult it can be with all the noise and the lights and the people. just that overwhelming sense where you feel like you can't breathe and also like, you can't go to a restaurant or near a place cos it will make you sick because of the food and the smell. maybe just the sensory overload then maybe the process of calming down when you get home. but yeh, I'd love the help!

    • @laurenrothbauer2557
      @laurenrothbauer2557 7 лет назад +5

      I also remember that Autism Speaks video that basically says being autistic is like having a disease and that it can suck up funds and ruin your parents' marriage. Maybe that could be used. I'm not lying when i say it struck a nerve with me.

    • @laurenrothbauer2557
      @laurenrothbauer2557 7 лет назад +2

      That might actually be a good one. I can see how it would be really frustrating to have to deal with that as an adult. I only have a mild case myself, but it can be humiliating when certain tendencies come back. I remember dealing with an angry customer and not even being able to tell she was angry until she explicitly said so. -_-;;

    As a person who is epileptic, and gets frequent Grand Mal seizures, i really freaking appreciate this! I was watching a couple of your other videos, and I was thinking to myself "damn I really wish he had a comfort one for seizures." But then I though that epilepsy isn't something common, and that it wouldn't be the most popular video setting. But I was totally wrong! I'm so freaking happy I found this video and your channel. I've been alone for most of my seizures, and have rarely ever had anyone comfort me when I get them. Typically my seizures are a burden to others, so hearing someone tell me that everything is going to be okay, and that I'm not a burden was probably the best thing in my life. Thank you for being my pretend boyfriend for eight minutes, and for helping me cope. It is appreciated. :)

    Firstly, just wanted to say thank you for offering support and comfort to people you haven't ever met, by taking the time to make these videos about some of the most harrowing and stigmatised subjects many face every day.
    Secondly, I don't know if you take requests but had a couple of ideas ...if you don't, don't worry - just ignore me :)
    Maybe a car accident where he is trying to keep her calm and awake.
    Another seizure scene, when he notices the signs before it starts. with the different stages of the seizure, then something goes very wrong...
    A part three to the 'crazy brother kidnapping story' where the brother decides if he can't have her, no one can and tries to kill her.
    She isn't feeling well and while he is seeing to her, she faints with him struggling to get her to come around.
    Comforting Girlfriend during scary and severe asthma attack :(
    Hope these help and thank you again :) x

    Thank you so much, as someone who has epilepsy, this actually means so much, no one actually knows what to say afterwards and it sucks, but honestly you are a god for making this thank you, I can’t tell you how emotional this made me, no one knows how to talk to someone after a seizure and this video just hit so hard because of how long I have dealt with seizures and how long I have been in the hospital, no one actually asks if you’re okay, or say don’t worry you’re gonna be okay. I cried throughout this whole video, I can’t even tell you how much it means that you made this video.

You want to help them, and there's nothing you can do but let it run its course, until it's over, and you just have to watch, as their body flails like a dying fish, it hurts to see, to all those with this horrible ailment, I wish that things get bettet

    it's crazy how accurate this is. This whole thing makes me so happy. Thank you to both you and Morriganaudio for all the time and effort you both put into this. This shows exactly what goes on in our minds when we wake up from seizures: "what no I didn't", "I did?", crying, bitten tongue/cheek/lip, lost short term, then even more crying when you really realize what happened. I want to try and type out a well thought comment but all I want to do is say thank you over and over again. It's so helpful to know that I am not alone in this journey (hello fellow epileptic friends) but also that it was a big enough deal for you to make an audio about it.
    one last time, thank you Cardlin.
